What is the highest quality silent air compressor you can buy? I need one for Airbrushing indoors. I don't want to disturb my family and lose my ability to hear.
the quietest would be a heavy duty manual tire pump and a holding tankCalifornia air tools is always recommended and the newer harbor freight fortress compressors are probably average
>>2980950They make ones with fridge compressors, they take forever to fill and have crap CFM, but are dead silent, for airbrushing they're perfect. Look for used compressors from dentists, the insides are coated, so the air is extra nice.
>>2980950Atlas Copco
>>2980973anything copco under 100hp built in the last 15 years is fucking trasht. industrial maintenance
>>2980950are we talking residential contractor airbrushes or hobby level stuff for minis and models? If youre just paintin models and shit those little compressors arent very loud, no where near as loud as a pancake compressor.
>>2980979Hobby level sheeeeiiitt.
>>2980990one of these lil niggas is fine. not loud, can easily talk over it when running. Bought one for my model tanks when I lived in an apartment and no one ever complained. if youre truly paranoid, theyre small enough to build a little wood box around lined with soundproof foam. I've also seen guys buy large air cannisters that they fill up as needed to have a couple hours of noiseless airbrushing time.
>>2980975american? copco has some production in the US and everything americans touch turn to liquid shit, the units we get from germany are fine
>>2980950This is pretty quiet
>>2981006yah burgerstan the screws under 50hp are "italian" built with mostly china parts and the airends fail randomly even with full mfg maintenance schedules. might as well but genuine chinkshit at 10% the price if the pathetic life expectancy is sub 20k hours (3-4 years)luckily theres a local outfit that inhouse assembles private label quincys and stands behind them with warranty
>>2980950the best one is a loud one in a soundproofed enclosure...or put it far away with a long hose
