Multi-tool recs? I dropped my old Wave somewhere which was pretty sad. It was just right and it had sentimental value (dad died)
>>2981710Surge. Everything else it's a meme.
>>2981710Harbor freight makes a knockoff of the Wave that's supposedly good
>>2981710I've got the letherman ARCIt's super nice but wayyyy overpriced. The wave + and the arc have the best assortment of tools imoI'd say skeletool if you want less bulk/weight but the lack of scissors kinda sucks.I haven't used any gerbers or the other brands so check those out but they just feel cheap to me idk
>>2981710Swiss Army Champ is literally all you need.
>>2981710I have a victronix swiss tool spirit mx (because of its one-hand blade opener). I carry it and use it every day.The action and quality all around feels much nicer than leatherman, of which I own two (wave and skeletool)I also have a SOG Power Assist, it's a piece of shit. Uncomfortable to handle and all the non-blade tools are only accessible when the tool is unfolded.
>>2981976Spirit MX Clip here too. I don't really care much about the blade, it's the thing I use the least. It's a great multitool, but the plier got stiff as fuck, especially compared to how buttery smooth it was when brand new. Lubricating it did nothing. I fear the tolerance on the hinge are way too tight and whatever happened (probably it fell or something) kinda seized it up.
Not a fan of the standard multitool format, though I redcently wanted to try some of the new cheaper contraptions so I ordered two Nextools I liked.Being the Black Knight the first one, I like its simplicity, big scissors, big knife, powerful saw, 1/4" bits. Makes an useful tool. It's good on the pocket but felt big and heavy for my EDC pouch and ordered the much smaller S11 Pro for comparison.Which it's very cool but way more small and less convenient for real work.I later ordered a basic Victorinox SAK, and discovered I'm a big fan of them.It makes a good combination with the other two mutitools and decided on pairing them on demand, using the SAK on food and higienized things, and adding the big or the small pliers depending on the plans for the day.
>>2981710Skeletool has been my fave.I lost mine too, been annoyed at it for a year. I had it for 15 years and it walked off last year.
>>2982212Skeletool Master Race.
>>2981710Skeletool - bits, knife, pliers, bottle opener. What else do you need?
>>2983226>>2982491Sometimes I wish i had a corkscrew or awl
>>2981710Ho Lee Schitt!I've got a couple of these. Not much in the way of tool selection. But that price!
>>2983390i regret not getting one back then. would love for them to bring it back
>>2981755crap choice. leatherman sucks.>>2981710get a victorinox swisstool or spirit x if you have smaller hands and want a more comfortable tool. far better and smoother then leatherman
Im trying to build a Grab Bag. I am trying to rationalize what multitool i should buy. on the one hand, i probably will never use the grab bag. so i feel like its ok to have a cheap multitool. on the other hand i would hate myself if it ever rose to the occasion that i packed myself a shit multitool. Im debating between a Leatherman Rebar. since they are robust and have all the tools you would want. or one from this list https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eX-fbhjVLfM&t=1293sWhat do you think, 40 dollar multitool because its probably just going to sit in a bag for 10, 20 or 40 years for no reason. or a 80 dollar one?
