Ok /fit/ how do I remove this old gross grout in my bathroom
>>2982248pressure washer. i think ~700bar should do the trick
>>2982248Oscillating multi tool with a grout blade
>>2982248That isn't grout, the grout is under all that filth. Learn to clean you filthy fucker.
>>2982352I just bought the house
And no it isn't just surface level
>>2982248you do not remove grout.you clean itthere's grout cleaner and a good stiff brush
>>2982364probably just dark grout that is even darker cause it's dirty. not all grout is white.
>>2982364See what you did there? Do that for every line.
>>2982364That is just filth. Soak the floor down with hot soapy water, let sit for 10 or 15 minutes, quick scrub with a natural bristle deck brush, dip it in your hot soapy water and scrub, mop up the water. Probably will have to do this two or three times to get things clean. After the first time you can switch to grout cleaner but it doesn't really speed things up, just throws in the hassle of dealing with acids.
>>2982248If that is marble/natural stone avoid grout cleaner. Soak areas at a time in dish soap and water and scrub, after that initial pass (breaking down grease) move on to bleach and do it again. Don't use acids at all. If it is ceramic, go to town with a strong acid but be prepared to do a ton of rinsing and possibly regrouting it all due to pitting caused by the acid.
>>2982490Ok yeah I'll just go ahead and spend 30 hours of my life painstakingly scraping out every crumb of old grout from my bathroom floor
>>2982530Pretty much.
>>2982530You could just scrape off the top layer and grout over that for a fresh look
what you need is a low-speed floor buffer with a nylo-grit brush installed, pic related is 12" diameter. Nylo-grit has silicon carbide grit mixed in with the plastic of the bristles, it skips over porcelain and ceramic but tears off the top layer of grout. Just slop some water down and scrub, then mop the slurry off. You'll have to rent the low-speed buffer, and these brushes aren't cheap, so you might be better off finding a service company to do it for you. This is the right tool for that job though.
>>2982696>This is the right tool for that job though.OP is clearly a faggot. He doesn't want to spend money or work hard. So, he'll hire a mexican to do it and the bitch when the job is shitty.
>>2982248The best way is to demo the tile and redo.
>>2982696>silicon carbide>skips over porcelain and ceramic but tears off the top layer of grout.Carbide is far harder than any porcelain or ceramic. Explain.
>>2982749
>>2982745This is what I would do, it would take so much methamphetamine to get that grout out it mosaic tile. Fuck that.
>>2982940Yep, way easier and cheaper to demo and re-lay. Your time has some value, the hours into cleaning that is too much. Plus you can fix whatever the spic did to the underlayment
>>2982943That is maybe two hours work to clean.
scrape every joint and vacuum it clean yea
>>2982248Like this.
