why didnt anyone tell me windows make plant killing solar death rays?lost like half of my sprouts. I assumed it was because I was using the 30 cent seed packs but then i realized only my shaded plants made it. fuck guys you need to tell me about these things. what else is going to ruin my vegetable garden crops? lucky I planted way more than I needed but I think I lost the ones I wanted the most.
>>2985044maybe try googling, stupid americant.my basil loves solar death rays and grows year round
>>2985049> Only has one plant. How sad
>>2985044it happens, windows can be funny and do that sometimes. just remember the places it focused on,
>>2985044>put sprouts by the window, the last alfalfa in the americas(cause of ww4)>lost like half of my sprouts the windows killed them>all hope is lost
Might be cheap seeds but I lost a bunch even after I put them on my shaded balcony. I have no clue what is killing or giving them life. I have largely replanted but its obvious I'm doing something wrong.
>has shitty vegetable(?) sprout that has probably lived in doors 24/7 that's likely robbed of every nutrient known to man through all stages of life>puts it infront of magnifying glass in the afternoon sun or some shit>durr how did it die? cheap seeds??>moves small sprout (seedling?), largely grown indoors, maybe even without true leaves yet, directly outside in a balcony that still probably gets at least an hour of bright sun. also during a time when most places are still at risk of low night temps>durr how did it die? cheap seeds??I just don't understand how so many people are so clueless when it comes to the most googlable thing imaginable. get a fucking growlight, make/buy a shelf for like 40 bucks, and google what hardening off a plant is, you fucking retards lol
>>2985044glass blocks UV lightyou won't get a sunburn though a windowmaybe your window was blocking a wavelength your sprouts needed
>>2988105I think it was in a small pot that got too hot and baked the roots.
Try thermally insulating the pot from the window sill and keeping the pot shaded. Also Neem oil for pest control.
>>2985044Why don't you try to live on a windowsill in direct sunlight all day and see how it feels?
>>2985044What floor is the window on? How many hours of direct sunlight does it get? That's the question here. Seedlings need shade and soft ground, when your veggies grow actual stalks, move them to a sunnier place(6 hours of direct sunlight or so)You should water with warm/room temp water as well. Try covering the earth at least around the root so it doesn't dry there if yours are drying from the roots up.>>2988131 bad comparison, sunbathing is awesome
>>2988127Based. Thanks.I think my problem was pot size on multiple levels. Also possibly way over watering.>>2988202Idk when I was a kid it seemed simple but now I realize a lot of wisdom must have been going into planting.
