Opinion on picrel (left) for garage/general use bench (Vevor/SuccBuy on AliExpress/other on and offline shops). Comes in many sizes and configs (drawer/tool plates/wheels, etc.) which can go into well over 400€, but looking for basic one for around 150 €.

Plus:
• Rated for 2000 lbs
• Adjustable height
• Steel span across length
• Power sockets
Minus (?):
• Solid wood, but, on closer inspection, looks like it's small bits of wood glued together.

Alternative would be also picrel (right) feet/stand good for 1000 lbs, in combination with either of the two boards (three layers treated 27 mm pine/single layer 28 mm pine). Feet would be rotated for stability, like this (topview): [ / \ ]
Plus:
• Actual full length boards
Minus (?):
• Height not really adjustable, though I could buy taller feet/add a piece of wood between feet/bench. Not a tall guy though and being able to place downward force could actually be a plus for a lower bench.

Bro, you're gonna BUY your workbench? Buy NEW? How very DIY of you. You can make a bench out of dimensional lumber that will easily beach that in cast and strength. Well, maybe not you. Your first instinct it to buy a workbench. You buy your sawhorses too or just get all your lumber pre-cut?
>>
>>2987118
>Just grow a tree, dig the minerals, cast the metal, bro, like s true diy'er
Literally posted the option of assembling one myself.
>Dimensional boards
No idea wtf you're talking about, but those are 2,4 m boards, btw, so I'd have to cut them down to 2 m or less.
Btw, did you just bought your fancy (cordless, please) power tools off the shelf, or actually went out and shopped for motors, controllers, etc., and built them yourself?

Guess it depends on what you're planning to do on them, but go on...

You need us to Google that for you too? It is one thing to be stupid. That is a limitation from birth. It is a whole different issue to be ignorant. That is a choice.
>>
>>2987140
Did you seek help for the bug that bit you or are you just going to wait for the butthurt to heal itself?
>>
>>2987088
We just made one from a 4x8.

Its in my garage. The bemch is nice but the 4'x8' is a little too big. I've considered making it into a 2'x8' to make more room for the cars.

The back is screwed into the wall. The front legs are 2"x6".
>>
>>2987275
What type of board and thickness?
>>
>>2987088
I don't rate that design, it looks wobbly as shit. There are probably some better options on YouTube. I personally just use a couple of the 7x800mm 4x2" expedient sawhorses
>>
>>2987088
Looks like shit. make your own
>>
>>2989325
It says it's rated 2000lbs; no actual idea, but that's probably way more than I'll ever need.
I know those self locking benches are wobbly as fuck pieces of unusable shit, but these are bolted to the board, so shouldn't be half as bad. Would like ro see them first person, though, but it is what it is.
>>2989378
(Picrel) Now I just need to diy all the gear I'd need for that....
Btw, the other option is to buld it from the parts on the right; but maybe that's not diy enough for the purist in you...
>>
>>2989389
>Now I just need to diy all the gear I'd need for that
literally all you need is a drill, wood, and maybe a saw to cut the wood, so you don't get jewed by woodcutting fees or have to sit at home depot for hours while a mexican does it for you. if you somehow don't even have those, why are you buying a workbench if you don't have basic tools? kek

if you have the tools to put together the shit on the right, then you can ditch the rip-off chinesium legs completely. that's what everyone is saying. you don't have to worry about "not seeing it in person" if you make it yourself. If you need something to work on while building it, put together/buy mid-quality sawhorses that should be useful in the future, anyway, especially if you need something to hold projects but not take up your main workbench space.
>>
>>2987088
quit being a fucking retard and build your own, you can make a basic bench for 50¢ or whatever the fuck your currency is. what a waste of a thread
>>
>>2987129

I cant read that fucking ad cause you posted it in terrorist language. GTFO
>>
>>2987088
no lower bracing, this is a piece of shit
30mm is not a particularly thick top for a workbench
1.5mm is one of the? thinnest sections that you can buy? maybe 1.2 iirc.
the height adjustment thing is embarrassing.

buy a handfull of 2x4 and nail together a cuboid but with the legs sticking out the bottom. glue the mating faces before you nail them together. then you add diagonals at either side and one at the back. top just cut 3 pieces 3/4 inch ply glue them together for >2 inch (54mm) deck.
if you expect the floor to get wet put the a hockey puck under each leg.
>>
>>2989557
>if you expect the floor to get wet put the a hockey puck under each leg.
I just cut the tops off plastic bottles and slip them over the legs. That way it won't fall off the puck/brick/block if you are wrenching on it or something.

So, yeah, bench legs on the left are bolted,ç together, so no go.
Also the pine boards on bottom right, I've seen them in person and most are really badly warped, so discarded as well.
The metal frame set on the right is just low, at 71 cm max.
The formwork board, I haven't seen it first hand. Doesn't look too bad on the pic, but who knows
These two parts would be some 120 €, delivered.
Unfortunately, not much other options around here, unless twice olus this price point.
>>2989526
Shit on the right just needs to bolt the legs to the board.
Problem about not seeing it in person is boards on the bottom right I mentioned above: the pic doesn't show how warped they are.
>>2989535
Lol
Email it to me as attachment, I'll give $2 for the trouble...

>>2989567
There's plenty rubber feet options around; it was on the menu.
>>2989569

That'd be guaranteedly over 500€ here, btw.
Also not looking for a carpenter's bench specifically; rather a generic use bench.

This bench was bought well used from a mechanic shop that went out of business 35 years ago. This is what you should build. Take notice of how thin the top is. More pictures to follow.

hnnnnnnnnngggggg

>>2989584
It depends on what you intend to do with it. What do you want to do with the table? Do you intend to slam wood with a hammer and chisel? Or will you rest things on it and then use a screwdriver. Look up Roubo, Nicholson etc.
>>
>>2989584
Dozens of front automotive suspensions have been rebuilt using pneumatic chisels and large hammers on the bench. Almost every type of automotive bench work imaginable with the exception of major engine and transmission work has been done on that bench for decades. I have disassembled and lapped the valves of a 7.0 liter V8 on that bench.

Nah, I'll add a vice/ whatever I'll need, but nothing actually heavy duty planned for it.
Those benches are sold locally for about same price, even less, so at least I'd have a real warranty, but neither the wood nor metal are solid pieces, just glued/bolted together bits.
Anyway, just looked up those l3 construction boards, and they're literally just some 20 € apiece, new; there's countless warehouses with literal shiploads of them/h20 beams (overkill, but could use them for legs/braces), etc. all over the place lol ad i first saw was asking 75 € *discounted*...
>>2989595

3.50 ¢ best I can do
>>
>>2989567
interesting idea. i keep bags of cement and bench power tools on the bottom and the top surface is like 20-30kg anyway so moving is not a problem.
how does the bottom of the bottle hold up to being crushed under weight of the table

whats that 1/2, 3/4 inch? how many crossbars from front to back under it?

mechanics bench yeah for holding dead weight probably you could park a car on that and it wouldn't blink but if you want something dynamic e.g. smash up a bag of glass marbles with a sledgehammer you might want something a little thicker that won't bounce as much.
>>
>>2989684
It’s 1/2 inch with 3 internal 2 by 4 cross bars

Guess i could cut these in half, length wise, and use that for the legs, reinforcement, but would rather use a ready made solution, diy purists be damned.

why kind of lame faggot buys a workbench? just make one.

also buy an ad.
>>
>>2989683
As long as you don't move it around and abrade the plastic it holds up well. I have used a few bottles with pretty non-flat bottoms and for those I hit them with a heat gun to shrink them a bit and flatten them out. I have had a few spring leaks over the years, mostly from dragging them across the floor. They are easy to replace.

Here is a super simple portable woodworking bench that is small, can be broken down, and can do everything a real woodworking bench can do. Except, you know, smaller. More pictures and measurements here:

Btw, that shit claims to be steel, but it's actually just a wooden board wrapped in a .5 mm steel sheet... I've reported it.
