Im looking for a way to power my bands instruments for outdoor practice. no one in the band has a house or garage we can practice in, and rental units are very expensive plus we would have to lie about practicing in there. Good news is that in a small/medium sized southern city we do have a fuckton of parking lots and unused industrial areas that we could get loud in at night without bothering anyone. problem is getting power out there. The power load is as follows: 120W guitar amp200W bass amp400W speaker 100w in pedals/mixer/lights at nightEstimated total: 820Wfrom my understanding thats how much we would need out of a battery/generator per watt hour if everything was running at max capacity. I dont know shit about shit especially regarding electricity. because of the last "once in a generation" nothingburger theres a lot of cheap generators on fb marketplace and im thinking about getting this bad boy(dewalt dxgnr7000). its listed for 200$ not too far from me.this obviously seems like overkill, but for the price i dont see a reason why not. does anyone have any suggestions/alternatives that would work better? are these things loud as fuck? would a battery be better and if so what would be a good one sub 400$ (from what ive seen thats a pipedream). should i have to consider anything with the amperage?
Yeah any of the cheap ones are gonna be loud as dicksFind somewhere you can sneak a plug and invest in a bunch of extension cords
>>2988773>musicEnjoy trying to play over the massive BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. 820W is your total at peak, how long do you want to play? If you want 2 hours of clean time at full power (which is probably more like 4 hours including downtime), you need about 2kWh in the battery. There are many ways to go about it, the cheapest are the most /diy/ heavy, the less cheap but far more simple one is to just buy a solar generator. In your price range, you can get 1kWh new, like a Pecron or a Jackery Explorer. /diy/ route would be buying a 12V cheap brand LFP battery, those are around 150-200/kWh, plus a cheap combo inverter from aliexpress. This still puts you near $400, but it has the advantage of being very easy to expand later, much cheaper to expand than a solar generator. That or spend $50 on cords like >>2988775 says.
>>2988781700 watts of speakers will drown out the brrrrr
>>2988781>>2988775I would hesitate to run a rig like this on $50 of extension cables. If they aren't heavier duty than your typical generic extension cable you risk having them overheat and melt, and heavy duty cables aren't that cheap.
>>2988773>820WWhat's your actual power draw.I know guitarfags insist on ancient amps that draw full power constantly, but your PA will rarely hit peak.Measure it.And then either get small 2kW inverter genny or a battery inverter.
