How do I prevent the welding arc from sticking?
It sticks to the surface

I'm trying to solder something and it sticks, my hand is always shaking a lot

jab the rod straight in hard like youre trying to punch a hole in something and instantly pull it back. rest your other hand on something solid and put the rod between your 1st 2 fingers like a cigarette to hold it aimed where you want it
if running 7018 take the rod out of the stinger and bang the burnt end on something to break the flux that caps the end off after every arc
