Amateur question. If the page doesn't say, how do I know a checkpoint is v-pred or not? Also, does anyone have any experience with these sort of "quality of life" loras? Do you just use them on every gen? The more modern a model is the more likely it is to be V-pred. I believe you can tell for sure by looking at the metadata of a model but I don't know a convenient way to do that.In any case, LORAs can apply to any model, they just might not have the same effect. Somewhere in between?There are a million and one LORAs that are supposed to be general quality improvements like those. None of them are mandatory. Pretty much all of them do SOMETHING, but whether they consistently make images better or not is a judgement call. Most likely what they'll do is restrict the potential generations to specific styles and concepts the LORA was trained on, which may or may not be what you want. A decent one might prevent bad gens from looking as bad by limiting how weird it can look, but that might also prevent you from doing more creative concepts and such.Are you doing local gens? If so experimentation is the best way to figure things out, just try it out and see what you think works best.

I've wanted to try and get into using noob, specifically vpred, but it seems kinda spooky. I've kind of read through the "guides" that are listed on the civit page but still a little intimidated by it. Mostly confused on the prompt structure, and whether or not I "need" to use a specific artist tag, or if loras make a difference, etc.

>>3023954I'm not sure what model you have been genning on, but Noob is the same old prompt structure as always.If you are using base noob then you do need to figure out an artist to use because base noob without any kind of artist tag will be all over the place. It's why I personally prefer some kind of shitmix because I like having a "default" style that I can hash prompts out on without having interference from artist tags.

Honestly on the lower end of my checkpoints in terms of raw quality/polish and you'll get more duds/anatomy errors/etc. than the more polished ones, but it more than makes up for it with the delightfully strange results you can get from it. It's a fun checkpoint.
