Im trying to tone it down a bit visually. My personality is a bit over the top. I also wear homemade grindcore and death metal stringers or just jeans and rolled up sleeve white button ups. Just trying something new I suppose. Something more casual that looks nice to girls. but silver chains with s and m clasps are rare although 925 is soft enough for it

vintage 18k, 40+ decades old can start to take on a 20+ karat orange color in some cases. gold usually won't tarnish like a shitty brass chain would. for some reason 18k watches can turn purple but i've never seen an old 18k piece turn purple ever, i think thats due to contact with steel parts but all the very old 18 karat pieces ive handled personally seem to get more orange with age

i might be able to tell you more if you can post more higher quality pictures. try to get in lighting that reflects the color you see in person as best you can and try to get high quality close up pics on the surfaces. and measure its dimensions and weight if you can. if it's something like 2.3~ mm 18k+ chain i would expect it to have a darker color and heavier weight, probably around 8 grams or so. i have a 40+ year old arezzo italian box chain in 18k, 1.8mm 16 inches and it's 10.5 grams

it might be your posture but 22 seems to sit just below the collar bone on you. that's a very good length for wide collar shirts like wife beaters or if you wear button ups and leave the top buttons open which is my go to. if you prefer normgroid crewneck shirts you'll want longer if you find that your 20" gets swallowed by a crewneck a lot.
it might just be the angle but that looks like a choker almost. 18-20 inches on most guys are just below the collar which is pretty short.

it kind of depends on the look you're going for. vintage look is either very short or very long, 16-18" or 26-30". if you like normgroid tshirts the trend is a 24~ inch. cubaknow loco on youtube can showcase that look or gusvillajewelry. i personally think it's negrified. but it's really up to how you want it to look, i just hate normal t shirts and adding a chain kind of looks crappy to me if it's a crappy shirt.
i don't have a problem with chains and wifebeaters but i prefer older styles so i'm biased towards moving away from crewneck zoomer fashion because every broccoli head has a shitty t shirt choking them and a big 24" chain.

my advice? see how the 20" looks in the shirts you like and if it gets swallowed by the collar when you move around. if it gets swallowed, go button up or something with a more open collar. if it doesn't then it's probably fine. but if you ever dress formally and want to show your chain off subtly with the top buttons open, if it's any more than just slightly beneath your collar bone it won't show. i run into that problem with my gucci links so i tend to wear my 20" pieces more in business casual

idk, that cuban looked great. not too garish and not too subtle but subtle enough to be classy. looks perfect but like i said it might be your posture making it look longer or shorter than it would if you were standing up or maybe just the camera angle. no one chain will generally go with every fit so just try the fits you like the most on with a 20 and 22 inch string or rope or something and see how it looks proportionally. maybe try it with something imitating a pendant too in case you like the lengths but want a different chain for a pendant so you know ahead of time what you prefer. for pendants i either go choker length or 24" depending on the width of the chain. i have a big ass 18k diamond pendant with a gold eagle that i put on both my gucci links at once, or i go with the box chain or a mariner i have or my 5mm cuban that are 18". i find shorter and narrower with a pendant is classier for business casual but sometimes i will put on the 22" with my heavy pendant.

rule of thumb, a pendant will make your chain look like it's 2" longer unless it's extremely light and doesn't weight the chain down. i don't wear my pendant as much as i'd like because it's super loud on what are already 2 rare statement chains that stand alone. 4-5mm choker length is also great with or without a pendant. you can't really go wrong with 4-5mm. 6mm is when it starts to get "big" unless you're huge but even then it WILL look quite big and expensive to a person standing near you. i find that the width of chains on me look much narrower in the mirror than if i put the same chain on a person and look at them with my own eyes. my 8mm gucci bracelet looks small in the mirror but huge on other people so it's probably huge on me.

go pick up a kihei if you can. i do not sleep in it because it kinks due to the nature of the links but it's like a herringbone that's not weak garbage that will instantly dent, with the presence of a cuban. herringbone shine factor though. thing is like a blinding strip of gold in the sun. go for 22 if you can find one. they're much more expensive since i got mine for i think 3600. it's worth like a little over 4k now. sometimes i wish i had gotten it in 22" because i've grown fond of 22" but i can't use my gucci links in more formal clothes because they're too long to hit that collarbone sweet spot for business casual and look inappropriate outside the collar because they're too long. experiment and get multiple pieces in different lengths.

Yeah I think its just the lighting. I take a multi vitamin and eat fruits, lean meats, and vegetables everyday. Plenty of sun too. My skins actually pretty brown at the moment since Im out sprinting at the park most days (and feeding squirrels).

What got me to try dressing like this is that I bought soms long sleeve compression shirts to hide my tattoos in japanese gyms and ended up liking the athletic wear look and just rolled with it for some new outfits. Titanium is kinda dangerous because it's harder to remove than gold. I also think the black ones have become a bit od a meme. Just go with a basic gold wedding band (colour from rose to white gold based on your future husbands skin tone). Also happy for you

Thanks friend. One of the reasons I’m toiling with the material is because he’s a crane mechanic for a construction company and gold might not be resilient enough but also if the titanium gets crushed it could be hard to cut off. Apparently the solution is to have a proper ring outside of work and a silicone ring if he wants to wear it on the job. It seems like black would be nice because they’ll both look the same but if he’s not wearing it to work I guess it doesn’t really matter. Still thinking about it
