if you want best results, combine it with botox

I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1,000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

Btw, I like to dissect girls. Did you know I'm utterly insane?
>>
>>18513202
>uhh have you tried other things, like salicylic or azelaic acid. perhaps try lower concentration or something
i use drugstore cream that has allantoin + d-panthenol (you can feel how it softens your skin in 3 seconds) and then use a drugstore knockoff of lrp cicablast baume b5+ or whatever it was called. even my gf was surprised how good this combo is

sorry for late response. I've tried salicylic, glycolic, azelaic, anti-fungal ointments prescribed by doctor, retinal/nol (which is good for dealing with the spots that occur afterwards). honestly I don't know if my problems have been caused by shaving. it's probably fucking up my skin. I've only got problems in one cheek too. It's almost like perma redness in small patches and no matter what i do it itches and it's red.
If i shave with a razor, it's bad, if i shave with a hair trimmer, it's bad, if I don't shave it gets too long and irritates my skin even more than NOT shaving. benzoyl is the only product that have sort of worked. I just started using picrel, it works pretty well but it won't treat my main problems.
>>
>>18514466
This has to be a joke. That's raping your skin and then some. I use tret daily, exfoliate weekly and I can't touch my face with any sort of scrub. And here you are, exfoliating basically every day.
>>
How is shaving supposed to play into a facecare routine?
>>
>>18514639
Shaving is a (physical) exfoliation step in your routine. Do it after cleansing.

Do it before cleansing. You're using shaving cream and potentially introducing bacteria from your razor head to your face if you're not changing it regularly. Cleanse after you shave to remove soap residue and clean the fresh skin

retinol for fine frown lines. I've just picked up picrel as I've heard it's pretty good. If you have deep set frown lines that ship has kind of sailed unless you want to take more extreme options like Botox and fillers
>>
>>18514717
You worry about bacteria from razor head but don't care about bacteria and residue on unwashed face? Jesus. Sure, shave with that sunscreen on or whatever was your last routine.

PS. Try harder.

Despite going through retinization, within 3 weeks tret has given be a nice shine and significant/visible nasolabial fold decrease.
I keep fucking with my sebum deposits so I hope dutasteride helps a bit with my oiliness.
Also hoping I get rid of those fine lines on my forehead and post-wound hyperpigmentation next to my btow... 27 in Dec btw
>>

Ah yeah I've had a suspicion since when I use my electric trimmer it's even worse despite the fact that I always meticulously clean that thing. Guess I'll try some other creams/blades.

i've seen this site linked a lot. haven't used it myself. if i was you i would probably use the OTC adapalene 0.1%. not sure if that's also banned in EU, but probably easy to get through a legit dealer like amazon from US.

>>18515721
i was the same. it will come to you. your hormones will shift in your late 20's - early 30s and then it will happen fast. the skin damage you picked up in your youth will start to show because you'll lose fat in your face, thinning your skin. the deeper down discoloration will show, wrinkles will form, and scars will become more pronounced. a lot of people start balding during that too.

25 is a great age to start tretinoin and finasteride.

>>18515732
it takes time for your skin to adjust. you should wait at least 12 weeks to see results. if it's still flaky you may want to move to a lower strength. in the mean time use moisturizer, sunscreen, and stay hydrated.
>>

Tret is just amped retinol. Better to have, but using retinol is still better than not. Moisturize (both in the morning and at night) and use an appropriate face sunscreen everyday and you're kind golden.

the more accurate description would be that retinol is tretinoin with extra steps

I spent $200 stocking up on elta md barrier renewal moisturizer because it's the only thing that's worked for my difficult skin. I feel guilty not getting by on cheaper stuff but I did try them. I tried water gel-based and they did not last long enough, I tried an oat moisturizer that was thick and greasy. My face was inflammed and painful. The only thing that works is triple the cost. I guess I should be glad I found something that fixes the issue.

So using mild Moisturising cleanser and prescription adapalene in the evening and the cleanser and sunscreen in the morning has been a huge improvement. But I still get 1 or two whiteheads popping up. Do I put the adapalene cream on them or do I do something else? Popping them manually leaves behind damaged skin like this.

don't really think it will mater which one you use, light or heavy.

i would start washing am/pm with CeraVe Renewing Salicylic Acid Cleanser
if that doesn't clear it in a few weeks try Paula's Choice SKIN PERFECTING 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant twice a week.

you may also want to consider a retinoid. you can get adapalene 0.1% OTC. Rx tretinoin works better though. this will improve your skin in multiple ways including clearing pores.

But what if during the cleansing they pop by themselves? Anything I can do to help the skin recover as well as it possibly can?
>>
>>18521572
i know advice isnt to let retinoids into open wounds or anything but retinoids
>>
>>18521572
it's ok if it pops while cleaning, the puss usually surfaces, so it's normal. the goal it avoid damaging the skin in the process, which means waiting for it to surface on its own or with very little assistance.

it's best to avoid getting any actives in the wound because they can cause damage to the skin resulting in scaring. cleansing and moisturizing is fine.

the pimple patch (hydrocolloid patch) will speed up healing. cleaning and sealing the wound will allow it to heal faster.
alternatively you can use an occlusive to seal and help speed up recovery e.g.
La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5
Aquaphor Healing Ointment
CeraVe Healing Ointment
Vaseline Healing Jelly Original

--- for the people without access, this is from my derm ---

SUNSCREEN

General Requirements:
- SPF 30 or higher
- Both UVA and UVB protection (broad spectrum)
- Water-resistant for outdoor water activities
- Daily facial moisturizers with SPF do not need to be water-resistant

SPF 30 if the generally accepted minimum protection and it will block approximately 97% of UV radiation if broad
spectrum. Higher SPFs are not necessary but are perfectly acceptable if preferred or if someone is especially sun sensitive
(medication, photosensitivity condition eg lupus). These higher SPFs will block progressively higher percentages of UV.
Higher SPF will not reduce the frequency of reapplication when out in the sun and it is recommended one reapplies every
2-3 hours on dry land and every hour when in the water.

Sunscreen Application when outdoors:
- Most apply an inadequate amount of sunscreen. It should be a liberal coating. 1 ounce (enough to fill a shot glass) is generally required to cover all exposed areas of skin.
- Apply to dry skin 15 minutes prior to sun exposure
- Be sure to include the ears, lips, neck, chest and back of hands as these are critical sun exposure areas that are often missed.
- Reapplication is essential. As above, every 2-3 hours.

Sunscreen Application when indoors and driving:
- It is important to use sunscreen when inside and driving as windows do not block UVA
>>
>>18522290
Types of Sunscreens:
- Physical/Mineral -- titanium, zinc and ferric oxide
- Chemical -- Avobenzone, octinoxate, homosalate, mexoryl, helioplex, others
Both types are excellent and provide good coverage. I find that the physical/Mineral sunscreens provide better, broad
spectrum protection as compared to chemical products, and are less irritating. Mineral sunscreens, however, tend to be
more whitish or opaque although some of the micronized versions have become more cosmetically elegant. Chemical
sunscreens have the advantage of been transparent and a little less messy. Individuals that have very sensitive skin, those
with skin allergies to products and younger children (2 and younger) should stick with physical/mineral sunscreens and
they tend to be gentler.

Recommended Sunscreens:
There are many good options that provide excellent protection and higher cost does not necessarily mean more
effective. Most brands make many different versions of their sunscreens, and the active ingredients are listed on
the packaging. These are a few I like but this is not an exhaustive list of all good products.

you'd usually want to exfoliate about 1-2 days a week. depends on your skin. over do it and you can damage your skin barrier. you may not need it at all. just depends.

>>
>>18522652
I'm learning slowly.

For now, just focused on rebuilding my skin barrier as much as possible in-between monthly microneedling sessions (at-home).
Took out tret and vit C out of my regimen, all exfoliants, and only use La Roche Posay gentle cleanser once a day, at night.

Current routine, morning:
>Wash face with lukewarm water
>Vichy 89 HA
>Moisturizer with B5
>Sunscreen

Night:
>La Roche Posay cleanser
>Vichy 89 HA
>Moisturizer with B5
>Cicaplast B5 Baume

Seems to be working alright so far. Haven't had irritation from any product in 2 weeks. Still thinking about when to add back in Tret, C, and use Lactic Acid after this Saturday's MN sesh.
>>
>>18522726
Also, I wanted to add that the one product I understand the least still are toners. Really have no idea what to look for in regards to my skin and current regiment and if I should even use them. They've traditionally felt blah for me.
>>

i fucked up my skin barrier super bad recently and ive been using the haruharu wonder black rice hyaluronic toner (the one for sensitive skin not the one with fragrance and alcohol). ive used it for like a year prior but its one of the few things i could keep in my routine besides vanicream. very good stuff and i think it is helping my skin heal a lot

toners can add in some moisture and ingredients, but are mostly blah, not really needed. i throw some on right after a shower, which seems to help retain moisture.

>Moisturizer with B5
B5 is a vitamin, not sure which moisturizer you're using.

i will say give it a few weeks after you think your skin is good to try to start adding back in other products. just because the skin barrier is thick enough to stop the hurting doesn't mean it's thick enough to handle actives being thrown at it.

you may not need a exfoliant at all. if your skin barrier is naturally thin it won't help you anyways. especially if you're already using tret. shaving is also physically exfoliating. i think a good rule of thumb for exfoliants is, if you're not sure or are worried about it, you don't need it.

my one remaining outstanding issue is the closed comedones/rash looking thing on my forehead
I've thrown a lot of stuff at it, vit C, tret, benzoyl 4%, salicylic, nothing has worked to get rid of them, there's like 20-30 tiny ones that redden from something but no pain or itchiness involved, they just look inflamed

what else can I try?

that comes from clogged pores
usually tret would be the best option. are you sure you were using it correctly and giving enough time? it will take a few months of 4-6 days a week to start seeing results.

don't know your gender, but women can get them from hormones.

another thing, you could be having a reaction to a specific product you're using. for instance ILLIYOON Ceramide Ato Lotion breaks me out even though it's great for most people. just because something is noncomedogenic, doesn't mean it will be good for you specifically.
you can use https://incidecoder.com/ to try to sus out specific ingredients or just rotate through different products.

>Cicaplast B5 Baume
you might also want to back off occlusives for a couple of weeks to see if it clears up. unlikely, but possible.

if all else fails, you'll need to stop everything and start adding in things back in one at time.

Hello /fa/. I have been using GHK-CU topical form the ordinary and it is insane how good it is.

I want to buy raw GHK-CU and make my own solution to inject it or topical solution's or nose spray. I am looking on alibaba and other chinese source's because the fag's on .org said china has the best source's.

I am gonna pull the trigger unless anyone here know's where else I could get it. alibaba vendor's have to go through quality check's and they have good review's and more stuff.

Any idea's?

efficacy of an ingredient comes down to concentration and formula/vehicle/ability to penetrate your skin (and probably a few more things). i prefer og vitamin c formula that was confirmed to work but there are obviously new formulas so you need to dyor to see if vitamin c in your all in one product does anything, or do they just smash that name on a package and add 0,000000001% of it (which means its for marketing only)

So how exactly are you supposed to shave without clogging the pipes? I use cartridges and shaving foam and rinse it under the tap. I shave frequently too so it's not like there's a bunch of thick hair that can form big hairballs, and I tried running hot water for a couple minutes after having to help clear up grease or whatever at the advice of some internet searches but that doesn't change anything. Do I really have to rinse it in a bowl or something? I admittedly haven't tried to before, but it feels like it won't rinse the blades as well as the tap
I'm at a loss but it's become a pretty big problem and using those chemical solutions to clear the pipes can't be good for long-term health

Common denominators across all three

1. Heavy use of silicones (Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone, etc.)
These create an occlusive layer. Not inherently comedogenic, but on acne-prone or clog-prone skin they can trap sebum, bacteria, and sweat, worsening breakouts.
Especially relevant if you use other occlusive products underneath or don’t double-cleanse.
2. Film formers / polymers (Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer)
These give the “smooth, blurring, gel-primer” feel. They can increase occlusion and contribute to clogged pores in some people.
3. Chemical UV filters (Octocrylene, Homosalate, Avobenzone, Octinoxate)
These are in all three except that EltaMD uses zinc as well.
Some people find Octocrylene and Homosalate irritating irritation can trigger acne-like breakouts.
Avobenzone is unstable unless well-stabilized; breakdown products may irritate sensitive skin.
4. Hydration + occlusion mix (hyaluronic acid + silicone)
Hyaluronic acid draws water in, but if combined with heavy occlusion and not balanced with exfoliation, it can make skin feel congested.

Likely culprits for your breakouts
Silicone-heavy bases + film formers trapping sweat/sebum.
Octocrylene/Homosalate/Avobenzone combo potential irritant breakouts.
Layering with other products (esp. rich moisturizers) may worsen pore clogging.
If you’re acne-prone, it’s often not one single “comedogenic” ingredient but the overall occlusive, film-forming nature of these modern, invisible sunscreens.

I grew to dislike petroleum products on my face so I switched to tallow, there are a million vendors on etsy and it doesn't taste like death like aquaphor does. works the same as aquaphor too, makes my lips feel soft and moisturized.
tallow is easy to make and I get some as a by-product of making gelatin in a slow cooker from bones. but the refining process takes a lot of work so I'd rather just buy it.

apply it for 10 minutes before your moisturizer and make sure it's applied on dry skin

Alright, so I got the number one rule down as no more picking. What else can I do to preserve what skin I have left? I never really went outside so that worked in my favor but I also have terrible sleep so that probably deducts a few points too. I also have Seborrheic dermatitis which mainly affects my scalp but occasionally has outbreaks around my face too. I have that part generally under control, I've also cleaned up large portions of my diet and lost enough weight to get out of obesity too. It's just that I've been a compulsive picker for the longest time and it was only a few months ago that I finally started getting it back under control. depends on the type of scaring. to get rid of whiteheads you should try a chemical exfoliant like salicylic acid. Try CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser as the cleanser and if that doesn't work try Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant once or twice a week.
you need to be careful not to over do it though, because you can strip away your skin barrier and cause irritation and break outs. if you skin starts getting sensitive you should back off and give it time to heal.

>icepick scars, with a few boxcar scars
these types of scars can't really be fixed without cosmetic procedures like subcision, lasers, microneedling. that can be fairly pricey because they're not typically covered by insurance, but consultations usually are. you'd have to ask your dermatologist.

adapalene 0.3% is the only topical i know has been proven to reduce scars. you should be able to get it through an online marketplace like amazon or goodrx. you could also just get from a derm.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7x95CQaMA4

in general, you want to be on a retinoid, like adapalene, at your age because it provides a plethora of antiaging benefits.

i'd also rec getting on finasteride 1mg a day for hair loss prevention. you want to start before it begins.

made me realize now I've also incorporated standalone hya in my routine and had to think about the order for a bit, so I decided to do hya after tret, and then apply the moisturizer a minute later

I think hya before tret makes little sense, since you need to wait 15-30 min for the tret to do its thing
>>
>>18530884
not really. they can't be directly compared because they act differently in the skin.
probably safe to say for acne, OTC adapalene 0.1% is weaker than tretinoin 0.1%, but adapalene 0.3% is comparable. this would really be different person to person and vary on issue being targeted.

they're very similar, so not apples to oranges, but different. other retinoids may be effective at treating acne scars, but i'm not aware of studies proving it.

Source, anon? If anything, the online meme right now is tazaratone can fix athropic scars. I sincerely doubt it though. I think a lot of astroturfing is happening on reddit and other forums. Probably by the manufactures so you ask your doctor to prescribe less popular medications like tazarotene, or less popular tret forms (lotion, etc.). Just evil marketing.

And before getting procedures, like subcision, TCA cross, laser, etc., I'd suggest you guys to see before and after pictures on reddit, acne.org forums, etc. They are honestly not impressive. Very few posts show noticeable improvements after this expensive procedures. The best looking ones are usually because of temporary swelling or fillers. Feel like a scam pushed by derms like Dr. Lim.

Same thing happens when they leave red states for blue states because of economic reasons or abortion laws or something else. They will still vote republicans afterwards. Literal retards.
>>
>>18525678
It’s normal.
The problem is even if you apply it every other day or less frequently, there’s a decent chance you’ll get irritation in week 2 onwards. It often takes time to show its side effects.

I personally would suggest to toughen it out and keep using it nightly. It will resolve by itself in a few weeks/months.

Of course there’s the standard more PC advice that reddit likes to give:
- take a break until the redness/stinging subsides
- don’t apply actives like acids, vitamin C, etc.
- focus on hydration and ceramide cream like illiyoon or aestura or atopalm
- switch to gel or micro or lotion formulation
- switch to lower concentration
- switch to adapalene or tazarotene
- buffer on moisturizer or hydrating toner or snail mucin
- sandwich method, add more moisturizer after the buffered tretinoin
- short contact therapy, apply tret for 30 mins to hours, then wash them off
- shorten or increase the wait time before applying tret

I don’t agree with those advice. Just delaying the inevitable imo. Not even talking about purging. It’s normal to get irritation from tret. It’s temporary usually.

start with moisturizing sunscreen like cerave am. most sunscreens are moisturizing anyway. if you want something cheaper than cerave, you need to go shopping in your area and see whats available for cheaper. or get recs on reddit or fb skincare groups in your area. local brands dont need to import shit overseas which is why their price have higher chance of being lower.
next thing would be a facial cleanser. and after that, a retinoid. these 3 products conclude The Basic Routine

legally yes. you can get it through amazon pretty easily.
Tretinoin, 0.05 % Gel is another option

alldaychemist.com is the only site i've seen with good reviews online, but i just get a prescription. and again not a legal method. you should also be cautious as it's not regulated like drugs in the us are.

assuming you already know, but just in case, you shouldn't jump straight to the highest strength. you should give your skin time to acclimate.
>>
>>18535011
I was saying illegally you CANNOT get tazarotene 0.1% IN gel form outside the US. The usual alldaychemist and other alternatives don't sell tazarotene 0.1% IN gel form.

>>18534648
Depends on how budget you want to go.

Local pharmacy brands like Avene, La Roche Posay, Bioderma, Eucerin, etc. are much cheaper than what people outside EU pay. Get them from online pharmacies, they will be cheaper than the local pharmacy/chemist.

Drugstores like Germany's DM also have their own skincare line.

Simple Skincare brand was recommended a lot. I'm not sure if it's still good after it was acquired by Unilever.

Bare minimum you need:
- moisturizer: go avene if your skin is sensitive, everything else if not
- sunscreen: people online love to recommend la roche posay, I'm kinda meh about it
- micellar water: either garnier or bioderma, to help removing the sunscreen, I personally only wash my face at night, not in the morning
- cleanser: this is YMMV thing, you need to find one that your skin tolerate

Next you may need:
- hydrating toners/serums/essence: if your moisturizer is not strong enough, or if thicker ones that are give you acnes or what not. I prefer Asian brands. Like cosrx snail mucin, pyunkang yul essence toner.
- actives: as in tretinoin and other retinoic acids, AHA, BHA, azelaic acids and other acids. Think about this later when you know more about skincare. Getting a tretinoin prescription in Europe can be difficult, because the derms are either bribed corrupt asshole or just incompetent. Try online derm consultation if you want one, ask around. Prescription Azelaic acid (Skinoren) is easier to get prescribed if you have acne problems, non-prescription azelaic acid sucks. You can try importing Boderm adapalene or tazarotene, but they can be kinda expensive if we include the shipping cost, depending on your location.

You also need a different set for body usually:
- body wash
- body moisturizer
- body sunscreen
>>
>>18535023
i know, i'm saying you could either get tazarotene legally or you could get the equivalent strength tretinoin gel via alldaychemist.

tret is a retinoid like tazarotene and adapalene. you mentioned both so i didn't know if you had preference over the type of retinoid.

I use FAB KP scrub Wed & Sat followed by CeraVe Moisturizer.

On every other day I use CeraVe SA Body Wash followed by an alternation of Amlactin 12% and CeraVe SA Cream then follow either one up with a sealed layer of CeraVe moisturizer after five minutes of letting the first one soak.

For face, I use CeraVe foaming facial cleanser (I have oily skin on my face) and use an alternation of salicylic acid and glycolic acid every night followed by Brickell's Anti-Aging Facial Cream.

Sunscreen on face or exposed skin as needed. CeraVe for the face/neck, Supergoop for my arms.

Works like a charm and my skin has felt silky smooth for months. My KP is gone and I don't need to keep doing the sealing thing, but sometimes I miss days and the extra sealing helps keep my skin moist for over 24 hours.

The problem is the usual products that can help redness may also cause redness for certain people. Because who the fuck knows why.

I’m talking about azelaic acid and niacinamide. A lot of horror stories, including mine, with them giving more redness instead of improving the skin.

Other than those, some of the usual recommendations:
- more sunscreen and avoiding the sun
- panthenol products: LRP cicaplast, atopalm panthenol cream/lotion, soonjung panthenol line
- centella products: skin1004, LRP cicaplast
- mugwort products
- snail mucin: cosrx
- sheet masks that say they reduce redness
- ceramide moisturizers: illiyoon, aestura, atopalm, zeroid, alfason, ceradan, etc.
- minimalist ingredient skincare and routine: avene, vanicream
- melano cc for whatever reason seems to help redness, who the fuck knows how
- more hydrating toners
- taking more breaks with with your tret
- vs just keep doing it nightly until it resolves the redness issue itself
- vs switching to adapalene
- general hygiene improvements: don’t touch your face, change your pillow, wash your pillowcases and towel more often in hot water with sensitive detergent after (oxy) bleach soak to kill everything, vacuum more, air purifier
- improve your diet and exercise

this one goes out to all the shaving experts ITT.
I started using a safety razor around November last year. I got a cheap Dorco razor and it came with like 30 blades but i also got some of the japanese feather blades. I alternate between the two trying to notice a difference between them but honestly I can't.

I nick myself all the time on my moustache area and sometimes my chin where it curves. Almost a year later I'm still learning. I use cremo shaving cream out of the tube and I shave at the end of a warm shower after scrubbing my face.
This has been my routine since March and it's super annoying but I've seen much fewer whiteheads and blackheads. When they do form, they appear right above my jawline and sometimes under the corner of my mouth. used to get a lot on my temple but not anymore, and never on my forehead, nose, or chin. But I'm worried I might be cleansing my face too much. I have oily and dry skin (mixed)

morning
>BRINGGREEN Bamboo Charcoal Pore Purifying Cleansing Foam
>BRINGGREEN Tea Tree Cica Soothing Toner
>ROUND LAB Birch Juice Moisturizing Cream
>Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun : Rice + Probiotics

night
>BRINGGREEN Bamboo Charcoal Pore Purifying Cleansing Foam
>BRINGGREEN Tea Tree Cica Soothing Toner
>AXIS-Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum - 5%
>use COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid instead of the dark spot serum 3x a week
>finally use Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel

My aftershave lotion is Bleu de chanel. I used to use witch-hazel and a Nivea aftershave lotion but a friend gave me the Bleu de chanel. I drink a lot of water (not as much as we're supposed to as humans) but much more than the average person and yes I have some milk maybe 2-3 times a week. I noticed that I'm getting fewer blackheads and I stopped getting whiteheads at all the day after shaving. You all seem pretty knowledgeable so can you please let me know what you think? Oh yeah and I like in South korea so that's why all my products are Korean.

no, I'm acknowledging that the products I use helped improve my skin in case anybody wanted to give me recs or suggestions, just extra info for any helpful anons. If anything shaving hurts my skin since it gives me really small whiteheads but they've stopped popping up after I began to use aftershave lotion
>>
>>18537064
>>18537172
Wouldn’t it be cheaper to see a derm and get a prescription?
>>
>>18537101
Do you include the inside of the ear or just outside?
Like not deep inside but you know, the inner side. (Antihelix apparently.)
>>
>>18537633
Yeah, I include the inside. As in I use sunscreen, cleanser, and moisturizer. Not because of acne, but they tend to get scaly. I assume probably seborrheic dermatitis or psoriasis or something similar.
It’s just me though.
>>
>>18537636
Speaking of seborrheic dermatitis, anyone here managed to cure it? I'm tired of following a religious schedule to wash my head. Makes doing trips or even going to the gym a pain in the ass.
>>
>>18537962
>following a religious schedule to wash my head
don't you just do it like every other day? just hopping in the shower and doing real shampoo -> pharmacy shampoo -> conditioner and that's it?
>>
>>18537967
I think I have a second condition besides seb derm, but none of the dermatologists ever notice or say anything about it. If I wash too often, I get a different kind of dandruff, much drier flakey, and also irritated and dry scalp. I have to shower every 3 days with the pharmacy shampoo twice. If I do it more often, I get the dry dandruff and irritated scalp, if I go over 3 days, I get the seb derm itchy and greasy scales/dandruff.
>>
>>18537995
>but none of the dermatologists ever notice or say anything about it
Unfortunately we don't live in a tv show. Expensive derms couldn't give less fucks.
>>
Is there a point in doing lasers compared to microneedling at home? I cant tell if its that big of a difference, or am I just being memed by the skincare mafia
>>
>>18538693
>>18538501
i just used a dermastamp at home, i can tell this is going to fix my scars after a couple months
if you have surface acne scars just buy this + a hyaluronic acid serum or something and ur done, totals out to like 40 bucks
>>
>>18538693
No one knows. Whether your skin responds, whether the treatments are effective for your issue. No one knows. It’s basically luck.
I have seen people ruined their skin with microneedling. I have seem people blamed laser for fat loss and so on.
>>
>>18538693
just don't use a roller and do the proper protective pre-needling routine

stamp or electric pen is all good
>>
>>18538804
>>18538809
>>18538824
tried dermapen, finally settled for electric. The explanation Ive heard is that co2 laser can hit the proper part of the dermis, which stimulates the collagen production better. Than again, Ive heard it from the lady that tries to sell to me a 700 USD treatment vs me doing it at home, with a total cost of 5 dollars per treatment. I dont have any special needs, just trying to prolong my skin beauty before the inevitable death.
>>
Why do you need to use sunscreen? My mum is 55 years old and she dosn't have any pigmintations, I have the same skin type as her. Of course she has wrinkles and her face is pulled down but you would have it even with a sunscreen. Does it mean that people who live in sunny/hot regions are looking older on average?

Also, I am not brown btw I just get a tan easily.
>>
>>18539018
Yeah, and she never used sunscreen
>>
why do these skincare youtuber women slather on so much fucking goop that their face is shiny and greasy all the time?

nobody actually wants this look, right?
>>
>>18539058
You see what you want to see.
>>
>>18537967
What real + pharmacy shampoo do you use?
>>
how do I get rid of huge scars. Is there anything new aside from the usual skincare regiment?
>>
>>18539281
Ask a derm. You'll never get 100% recovery btw.
>>
>>18539233
so the "real" shampoo is pantene from the grocery store, and the pharmacy shampoo is a local brand ketoconazole shampoo with an unreasonably strong smell of pine. conditioner is from pantene too idk if im doing it wrong though
>>
Thinking about using shampoo again after over 15 years of NoPoo, maybe even conditioner. Obviously the first time I do it, it's going to severely dry out my hair and make it look like shit because my hair won't be used to it, meaning it won't be a fair representation of how my hair would look and the effects with normal, regular usage. So the question is, how long, how many showers and washing my hair with the shampoo until my hair gets appropriately acclimated again and I get an honest look at how it's going to effect my hair? Maybe if I do it everyday for a week?
>>
>>18539504
>Thinking about using shampoo again after over 15 years of NoPoo
As someone trying to pull off nopoo, can I ask why?
>>
>>18539506
The daily medicine I started taking a year ago has all manner of side effects on my body (and mind), one of which is apparently causing my hair to look like shit on the first day (or even two) after a thorough washing, even with just water, and that just isn't tenable anymore. So I suppose I'm hoping shampoo and/or conditioner will cause my hair to loosen up again and look nice immediately after showering.
>>
>>18539506
>>18539515
For the record, my hair still looks great after that first day or two of awful rigidity once the oils begin to kick in, so medicine aside, I love NoPoo, but yeah, it's too much a pain in the ass at the moment and I'm hoping shampoo will help. Maybe it won't so I end up going back to NoPoo anyway, at which point I'll probably resort to cutting my hair short and keeping it that way (currently my hair style involves my hair on top being 3-4 inches).
>>
>>18520707
I personally use The Ordinary's Vitamin C powder and Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%.

I think they sell the Ferulic Acid separately to get around that patent.
>>
How long does it take tretinoin to show improvement regarding wrinkles? I have been using 0.05% tretinoin for 7 weeks and I'm not seeing improvement
>>
what do anons think of methylene blue and GHK-Cu
>>
>>18540050
No one knows. It's an individual thing. It may take weeks. It may take months. It may take a year. It may not work for you.
>>18540139
I'd assume it's mostly paid influencers and astroturfing.
>>
>>18540205
really? i figured methylene blue was kind of bullshit but i thought GHK-Cu had some research behind it or something

I just skimmed the Japanese video one. And what a lazy bitch. Looks like she uses AI or lazy third-worlders, probably both, to make bookmarks and write video descriptions.
Literally doesn’t match the video.
>>
>>18540867
Like she reviewed many products, but the video chapter bookmarks only list a few of them. Same as the list on the description.
I guarantee the script was AI-written too. “Chatgpt, what are the most popular Japanese skincare products?”
Lazy bitch.

do not buy 0/10
extremely aggressive/caustic, will fuck up your skin, I do tret 0.1% daily with no issues yet this shit makes me peel constantly
>>
>>18540693
>Why are you so convinced it’s caused by hyperpigmentation?
Because I've had them since my teens and my mother also has them. I consistently sleep 7 hours and eat well (meat, eggs, multivits), so my circles are probably genetic.
>>
>>18540912
Did you buy a fake? Or from a third-world country who doesn’t know how to store skincare products?
>>18540915
That doesn’t make any sense.
>>
>>18540912
me and my sister use the moisturizing version of this and haven't had any issues with peeling and i have very sensitive skin
>>
>>18540955
I assume his skin is very sensitive because of 0.1% tret. So some mild products will even trigger rashes and whatnot.
>>
>>18540938
from a reputable parapharmacy shop, it's probably from the alcohol in it
it wasn't my entire face peeling but just the most sensitive spots (nasolabial folds and cheekbone), but I also compulsively pick at sebum deposits in those areas so they're already fucked
I really gotta stop that, but I've had no actual issues until I switched sunscreens
>>
>>18541038
also I spend about 2 hours (or more) a day in direct sunlight so there's that too
>>
>>18540726
vit C is a meme product
does nothing

I had acne as a teen and my face is slightly fucked up from it. Will a routine with exfoliant, toner, serum and moisturizer work for me?
>>
alright, took the plunge and used shampoo (whatever my roommates had in the shower) on my hair for the first time in ~16 years (there may have been a couple times in there after swimming in a public pool), hopefully it doesn't fug up my hair because I WILL wear a hat everyday I go out for the next two weeks if I have to
>>
>>18536288
if shes hopeless and has no more leads to investigate it further, one last thing to try would be perhaps oral antioxidants (like astaxanthin) but im no expert. if its external, maybe its something environmental (at home or at work, like bad quality water). but then again, she pointed out it is allergy reaction so idk
>>18536472
>tretinoin daily
>redness
common side effect
>are there any good products for this?
if you dont want to use tret less often then centella/aloe or any product with "soothing" on the package might work
>>18536653
my laziness always kept me at minimal routine. but then you get routines like >>18514466 and i always wonder if all of these things are actually effective
>>18537152
why not experiment until you find routine that simply works instead of generalizing; skincare is personal. if someone has dry sensitive skin they still might tolerate larger molecular AHAs which can fix something they want fixed
>>
>>18539018

skin cancer is real. also i was prescribed retinoids

maybe, give it a go and you will find out
>>18540551
i used philips/braun trimmers, they are okay
>>18541091
i had same opinion so i tried a few bottles myself to give it a go.
i found its effects so subtle that they verge on being attributed to other products in ones routine. some of the vit c serums are so expensive that they are just not worth it. formulation/efficacy is the most important for vit c and i think many products available on the market are just not working.
anyway, i empty a bottle or two yearly for summer season so i am less oily and it gives additional uv protection apparently. also makes my summer breakouts a little less severe.
lastly, i was surprised with how my skin texture became more even out of sudden last year when i finished first bottle (after 2-3 months). but maybe i was using more retinoids during that time. guess we will never know
>>18541150
are you looking to fix pigmentation, atrophic scars or something else? regardless, pretty sure you can already drop the toner from your list

came back from vacation. my skin is fucked due to excessive fast food intake. yesterdays 30% glycolic peel helped my face a lot tho and i looked much better this morning

I need a good korean sunscreen with excellent moisturizing properties and soothes sensitive skin while not making your eyes watery from stinging

I'm not autistic about sunscreen so even if it's 30 spf if I'm just at home all day or just going out for 5-10 minutes it's enough to just apply once/day
>>

i read the label on my sunscreen and it said "reapply every 2 hours". i asked chatgpt about it and it told me to reapply every 2-3 hours. but holy shit man fuck that im not carrying a bottle of sunscreen on me wtf i thought once a day in the morning was enough?

also is there a point in cleansing twice a day as opposed to once before bed?

yah generally that's right, it probably also depends on the photo-stability of the ingredients
remember that you're still supposed to stay out of the sun, wear clothes that protect you, etc when you wear sunscreen

My tomoko eyes are truly cursed, dark circles, visible blood vessels under the skin, and I'm pretty sure wrinkles too, all 3 layers move independently when I yank them around.
I'll post a video later pulling on my eyes to show what I mean.
