Do you guys go to thrift stores? What are you guys looking for? Shoes? Bags? Shirts? Jeans?>pic related. got it for an equivalent of USD5
>>18516060i just scored a braddock sports jacket for ten bucks
>>18516060>>18516060I don't thrift. I'm not a filthy hobo who scavenges through the trash of other people, especially complete strangers.
>>18516089Most of the stuff at thrift stores is new. I go to one that has racks and racks of the same overstock workwear pants. That's why I go.
>>18516089Haha instead you are a NPC who only knows how to shop at the mall or order made in china slop from ssense dot com……
>>18516060Btw how do you clean your thrift finds? I know a guy who got some kind of skin disease after wearing clothes from thrift stores and he swore he washed all the clothes before using them
>>18516137Doubt, bacteria can only survive for a few weeks if that…. he probably got skin disease and blamed it on the thrift store kekMachine wash unless it needs dry cleaning
>>18516145Fungi and viruses can survive much longer.
Vintage outdoor clothing, went to a Cabellas recently and can’t believe people buy that chink shit full price>ruralfag
>>18516137I just wash cotton hot af. Wool is more annoying because people either don't don't wash it at all and there's bits of food and shit stuck in it or they have washed it so it stinks of their detergent and maybe washed it so much that it's stripped of all it's lanolin, I cold wash and re-lanolise which isn't difficult.
Ive been trying to get a leather jacket, almost got a pretty good one last time but it was tiny bit too big for me
>>18516060Slightly unrelated but what would you wear that will complement that khaki jacket?I got one that looks similar that
>>18516137Turn your shirt/jacket/pants inside out, wash it in warm water(>50 degree centigrade), use something stronger than tide pod (preferably something oxygenated and antimicrobial) and then aftwr wash put it on dryer. at high temperature >it'll ruin the garmentYou only need to do it once then wash it like you wash any other clothes
>>18516237nothing it's ugly as fuck. looks like something an autist would wear
>>18516237Probably just jeans or grey trousers would look nice>>18516246Lmao
>>18516060I focus on old milsurp with historical significance for my personal collection and to resell to actual collectors...sorry I meant to deprive the poors the right to own nice things and destroy history they were too stupid to learn anything about back in school.
>>18516115The stores local to me, from goodwill to overpriced """vintage fashion boutiques""" have been awash in shein, amazon, aliexpres, and other chinkshit slop """brands""" for years now. They almost always sell it used for more than it costs new. The hilarious thing is thanks to the tariffs, those clothes might finally have some resale value.
>>18516060It’s been a long time since I’ve seen something good in a thrift shop
>>18516085>braddockanybody know anything about this company it's like a ghost on the clear internet
>>18517617All the good stuff is being shipped off overseas; Mainly to Japan, Korea and SEA
Resellers have ruined thrifting
>>18516145>>18516148Yeah wash shit first that could happen with new clothes too. Also you should be adding shit like this to the wash anyway because your own b.o. and piss stinks.
>>18516060No, I buy new clothes that I actually want and like instead of wasting my time picking through garbage to find something that still sucks
>>18516060Anyone find baggy jeans and baggy khakis?
>>18522646t. has horrible NPC style
>>18522669You're wearing somebodies garbage.
>>18522671And? I take it your home isn’t furnished with antiques….
thrifting is pretty bad in the UK. It's mostly just estate clear outs from old women. Mens clothes are restricted to a single rack if you're lucky. I try to find shirts from better brands. Last one I got was a beautiful deep navy blue linen charles tyrwhitt shirt for 90% off retail. But other than that it's pretty dire.
>>18522677Of course not. I throw away my furniture everytime I move
>>18522733It's an entire country of "i no wha' i go', no lowball offas, cash only, 120% of original price"Sir this is an aluminium napkin holder and it's broken"Twenty quid an stop wastin ma time"
>>18522802It's not really that. Just a lot of boring supermarket clothing brands. Same with tk maxx but that has some occasional hits.
>>18522885You guys have it rough. No pendleton or ll bean or lands end. Like what common brands do you have that are good enough to even look for in a thrift store.
>>18517391that and ebay sellers scour the goodwill stores. and like you mentioned, these fags label everything and sell it as "vintage" jeans for the price of new ones plus $10 shipping
>>18522660I just bought Bananna republic khakis with 9" cuff and Levis with 8.5 both new for $11. My mom says I got lucky and she would know.
>>18516060yeah, I'm quite an omnivore when it comes to clothes, if it's good for my collection or reselling I take it. I look a lot for football shirts and gear, player issued being the best. Also vintage graphics tees/sweats, sports brands, american brands, some milsurp, good denim, designer if I happen to find it, local stuff. Y2K ofc (it pays the bills and some are nice)
>>18522931the 'best' you really find thrifting is polo.
>>18516060Everything. I've found good clothes, but you have to go a lot, 99% of the time you find garbage. And just 2 weeks ago I found a book for $3 that I was able to sell for $250.
>>18516179ay my nigga
I tend to have pretty good luck at the thrift stores near me. I'm in a smaller retirement/hick town. Can find good heavyweight workwear type of stuff or vintage stuff a lot of the time. A lot of the reseller fags I see posting their stuff on facebook around here post literal 2010's stuff and call it """vintage"""". Also if you're handy with a sewing machine it's pretty fun to browse the textiles and make a project out of it.Some of my best finds that I think are pretty cool have been a 1990 montreal canadiens tee and I got 3 betty boop shirts from 1990-97
>>18516118You too are made in China, Anon!
>>18523546Nice
>>18522951I am one of those eBay sellers. Hell, the stores know exactly the kind of shit I want and save it for me. I'm lucky if I get one hit every 2 months nowadays. Hell, some of the """good shit""" they've had locally were things I gave up on trying to hawk on eBay which I traded into the store for credit that the staff ended up overpaying for themselves.
I've sold over 2000 items I've bought from the thrift store. I've sold all brands and get crazy stuff every week. yes thrift stores still hit good
