Got caught in the rain in my new (not even week old) sheepskin leather jacket. What do I do? Sleep in it? I don't want to damage it
It's already warping in weird ways bros, I'm gonna kms
>>
>>18518934
Just hang it up and let it air dry naturally
It's just leather
>>
buy a new one
>>
>>18518950
I (figuratively) sold my left kidney for it. God hates me
>>18518949
I'll try to do that but weep meanwhile
>>
>>18518963
Doesn't it get too hot for leather in india?
>>
>>18518966
Saar I didn't know they had webcams in India saar, turn your webcam off saar
In a few years I might try to get a custom leather shop to remake it if it's ruined but I'm already emotionally attached
>>
Doesnt exsposure to the elements just give it more patina?
>>
>>18518975
Depends on how much OP soaked it, a bit is good, a lot is risky, a lot a lot is bad
>>
>>18518978
I would say a lot, the inner lining is kinda wet, I can feel it when I wear it
>>
>>18518969
>turn your webcam off
No.
Your jacket is ugly and ruined
Get aids
>>
>>18519025
Who hurt you little man
>>
>>18519033

Go to hell jewish spy i will never cover my webcam
>>
it'll fix itself bro trust the plan and wear it
>>
>>18518934
Hang it up and let it air dry, then hit it with a bunch of leather conditioner.
>>
>>18519383
I hit the company up and they said use olive oil lmao
>>
Another leather jacket thread is not up so I'll just put my thing here
I have mold growing on my jacket, didn't wear it in the whole of spring and summer and took it out and damn thing has mold on it, what do?
>>
OP here, this thing definitely warped, curves where they didn't used to be. Fuck my life
>>
>>18521484
I feel sick, I shoulda just googled it instead of making a 4chan thread, especially for an objective question and not a subjective one
>>
>>18521461
open your windows from time to time you troglodyte
>>
>>18521461
Humidity. Isolate it asap from other organic clothing it can spread and destroy everything permanently especially cotton. Spray vinegar on the jacket and wipe it down. If you see mold on the inside lining then unfortunately it's done for and needs to be thrown out
>>
>>18521461
Soak it in Eucalan after spraying it with vinegar, and use an ozone generator in your home to kill off spores. Clean all of your clothes, closets and surfaces. Maintain and allow constant air flow, and remove humidity.
>>
>>18521900
I do, just not in my long term clothing closet
>>18522487
Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck
The inner lining is fine, but it's polyester or something like that
>>18522491
Don't have an ozone generator but I'll try the lest
>>
>>18519847
Don't do it. Just let it air dry and it'll be fine.
>>
>>18518934
Did you wax it properly? If yes, the rain isn't going to hurt it. if not, it's going to harden as it dries. If you dry it with heat, it might even crack. Make sure it gets some airflow, else it might start to rot.
Wait until it's fully dry, then get a thin oil (NOT ballistol, that shit is an emulsion and will stop it from ever being waterproof again) and gently massage it in until the leather is supple again, then wax it afterward. That'll fix anything short of massive cracks.
>>
i thought leather jackets were supposed to be rugged, now you fags are crying if it gets a bit wet and gains some actual character instead of looking brand new? christ you people are retards
>>
>>18521484
>>18521528
Just wax it, you stupid cunt. It will reshape to your body as you wear it.
>>
>>18518934
i got a schott perfecto used off ebay and when it arrived i instantly regretted it. they look so stupid irl
i haven't worn it since and i'm just gonna resell it when i stop being lazy
>>
>>18522690
Water actually ruins leather though. It's one thing to have character and patina, it's another to have it warped and damn near ruined
>>18522763
Yeah, I'll get some beeswax and make some DIY conditioner
>>
>>18522891
Just buy some pecards and stop being a retard.
>>
>>18518934
Schott jackets are literally all you need.
>>
bump
>>
>>18518934
>>18518963
The fuck are you crying over? It's a leather coat you meek retard. It'll last longer than you.
>>

I bought this today for $8 at the Salvation Army. Eat shit nigger
>>
>>18518963
Genuine sheepskin can take water. I had a B3 jacket that survived Canadian snow and rain.
>>
>>18526653
Not just OP. There's this idea that leather can't get wet because everybody was wearing cheap polyurethane or vinyk "leather" from the mid 80s to 2000s.

It was bikers, skin heads, and people wearing flight jackets that had real leather. Teen and young adult boys and girls were wearing $60 polyurethane jackets from the mall to look cool and then they started to peel in like 2-3 months (like many polyurethane shoes do) and that turned into "leather can't get wet" instead of "don't buy cheap Chinese plastic coats from GAP."
>>
>>18527088
When I got older and into high quality leather shoes I realized all the usual "rules" about leather were bullshit
Leather can get wet no problem. Just let it dry naturally and it's fine. If it dries out too much condition it
That's all there is too it
>>
>>18527188
I just wear shoes with a "genuine leather" upper. I scuff my shoes up too much to warrant quality all leather shoes.
>>
>>18518934
throw it in the dryer, dude.
>>
>>18526777
>Wilsons Leather
literally pajeet-tier garments. kek
>>
>>18518934
it's a leather jacket you fucking faggot
I wore mine to metal concerts and got it ripped, got blood on it, got it soaked in storms, many times just threw it in the corner and left it there all tangled up so it got a bit twisted and wrinkly all over
it looks even cooler because now it's worn
that's how leather jackets are supposed to look
you're wearing edgy clothes not an Italian suit
it's not supposed to look like you bought it yesterday, all shiny
that's how pajeets wear it because they try too hard
