>>18523117
He is right, you know? /fa/ is downstream from /fit/. You /fit/ you /fa/. You no /fit/ no fancy clothes will make you /fa/. There's a reason why most non-woke models are thin and lean, because they look good no matter what they wear. Clothes are just a paint job. You can put makeup on a pig, but it will still be a pig.

I'm relatively /fit/ and he's not wrong, especially as you get older that kind of outfit is appropriate for a man in a lot of social settings and I wear similar stuff frequently. Dressing more flamboyantly outside of special events can quickly become seen as over-the-top, so outside of work it's hard to miss with something like this. It's comfortable and masculine, but still implies that you take care of yourself. Obviously it's not okay in a more formal setting, and it's not horrible to wear to a party or concert, but it's also not taking advantage of your opportunity to be a little more showy in contexts where it's acceptable. I don't have a ton of Wrangler stuff but it seems like a decent brand, and certainly pretty good for the price point; personally I don't love my Hanes undershirts, but I doubt most people would notice or care. In any case, spending a little bit more on shirts and jeans that are well-made and have a flattering, contemporary cut, alongside nice but not-flashy accessories like a watch, belt, shoes, will push things from "damn good" to "great," even moving towards "fashionable" if you opt to make one part of the outfit a more dramatic statement piece.

those are guidelines, following them word for word is a sign of a retard who doesn't understand why these "rules" are there in the first place. shoes same color as belt, no belt with waistcoat and all the other sayings menswear nerds religiously follow are free to be broken once youve learned what things work and what things dont

>>
>>18523529
Rules exist because they're tried and tested principles and models that work the best for their respective cases. Especially when it comes to traditional clothing. Breaking rules just to "subvert muh expectations" is for women and postmodernist kikes who just like to fuck with things because they don't create anything new.

there's no meta, no ultimate outfit guide, all you get from following guides is an acceptable, "decent" outfit that wouldn't be frowned upon by people with the same rules in mind. you don't become the best, you don't express yourself fully by following textbooks or tutorials, you have to add on top of it

What’s funny is that I wear an outfit similar to OP’s except it’s fitted and the jeans are slim. I wear black work boots and a matching belt but it’s not a skinny belt. I too lift weights but am not fat. I also get compliments and looks. Yes, mostly guys but women make more implications by tugging on my belt or trying to feel my chest with their nails.

Meanwhile, if I try to wear something more eccentric, I get less attention.

One of my ol’ reliable shirts is a snug fitting Henley with the sleeves rolled up and the top button undone.

>>18523545
>there's no meta
More postmodernist bullshit. Yes there is a meta. It's called the human anatomy. What do you think the human body is, some shapeshifting blob? There's a reason why despite faggoty fashion designers coming up with all kinds of retarded bullshit, people mostly settle for the most tried and tested styles and looks. It's because those work the best aesthetically and practically on the human body. Unlike with other art forms like painting, sculpting, music, movies etc, fashion doesn't exist physically detached from your body. It's literally worn on your body. So, only certain kinds of clothes look good and work on the human body, because they need to adhere to human anatomy. As for why dress belts look like shit on jeans, it's because the waistband and belt loops of dress pants are usually narrower than what you find in jeans. So a dress belt is designed with those proportions in mind. If you use a dress belt with jeans, it looks disproportionate and unbalanced.
>>
>>18523651
Because skinny dress belts were the only kind of belts they used to make back then, because most men wore slacks. Only after jeans became more mainstream that wider belts became more readily available.

The end goal is living in a healthy, functional body. It's like asking what's the end goal of driving a well-maintained car and not a dumpster full of trash running on an electric scooter's motor. That in and of itself is /fa/. Anything else is faggotry.

You post that meme but still talk like a mdiwit. Fashion is a cope for midwit uggos. Low and high IQ men don't give a fuck about fashion. They wear what's comfortable and gets the job done (enough to not get them arrested for indecent exposure). They don't need to do gay shit like "express themselves" through their clothes.

Nobody disagrees with this, clothes aren’t important, as long as they’re not completely fucked looking. Worrying about fashion while fat is like decorating a rental, get a good house first and then worry about the frills

I buy nice clothes because I have everything else reasonably in order. When my mother was sick I was studying and taking care of them along with work and I wore nothing but sweats for a year
>>
>being /fit/ makes you look good, there is a motive for people admire you
>being /fa/ makes you look good, there is a motive for people admire you

there's an obvious overlap here. It doesn't matter if your fashion sense is really good if you're a fat fuck. It doesn't matter if you're fit if you have the fashion sense of a child.

Fit body and expression aren’t mutually exclusive, you just can’t picture both at once because you're a pseud.

>They wear what's comfortable and gets the job done
aka wearing what THEY want to wear

“Comfortable” is still a fashion choice and a form of self expression. Even in the fitness world, people can grow out of being a walking Under Armour ad and start picking brands, cuts, and colors, because that’s what humans like to do. It's not some intellectual cope, it's just human nature.

And the interesting part. There is no absolute end goal. Life isn’t a binary car analogy. The “end goal” is what each person shows for themselves and talking like a gymcel preacher not gonna change anyone's mind.

Yes it is, sweatie. Life is about living in a healthy body. The only reason unhealthy, unfit, dysgenic subhumans can survive these days is because they are propped up by civilization and modernity. In the wild, they would get killed or die off on their own within a couple days. Show me a sickly, fat, unfit, dysgenic animal in the wild that lives to a ripe old age. There are none. And don't bullshit me about an unfit, unhealthy body being just as good as a healthy body. Fashion is about looking good, retard. Fashion trends and fashion are not the same. Chasing fashion trends and being "updated" is for NPC golems and consoomers without a personal style and fashion sense of their own.
Just because something is trendy doesn't mean you need to follow it, let alone that it's good. Most of the times people are forced to follow a trend because clothing brands don't manufacture clothes in any other style, like with low rise millennial taper pants for the past 15 years. Those were the only kind of pants that malls sold everywhere. Doesn't mean everyone were willingly following the low rise trend to "keep up".

Imagine thinking ‘don’t be fat’ is the peak of human experience. Saying a fit body isn’t the only end goal isn’t the same as saying sickness is just as good. Nobody here claimed an unhealthy body = good.

That’s (you)r end goal ya sperg. Others have a choice from choosing family, art, faith, interests, legacy etc. Nature being brutal doesn’t mean it ought to define the human experience. Animals stop at survival, but humans have the means to make more from it.
>>
>>18527741
And none of the things you do in life fucking matter if you're not living in a healthy body first and foremost. It's like driving in a shitty car up a mountain. Which is why every culture and religion had a tradition of physical fitness that is tied to mental, spiritual and social fitness. They are all tied together, because a healthy body houses a healthy mind. And a healthy mind is what creates the reality around it worth living in.

The guy in OP's pic is way more buff. As >>18527599 said, more contrast with the jeans. I don't see what he means with the sagging. Also, the guy in OPs pic has a way better photo.

brother what is up with you and fucking car analogies.

A healthy body can support a healthy mind, but it doesn’t guarantee one. If it did, every bodybuilder would be a philosopher king. It's wishful thinking that isn't a universal truth. Fit people who are mentally disturbed even dead exist, and people with disabilities, from minor to major, are still living their best lives within their means exist.

If reality worth living in only came from healthy minds that's ONLY derived from healthy bodies, the sick, disabled, and dying wouldn’t produce beauty or meaning. Every culture or religion has individuals who prove otherwise and it's faulty to appeal to it.
