I'm white and have hair that looks kinda like an afro (especially from far away) but not exactly. I tried using just leave in conditioner before and it looked kinda decent immediately after showering but after it dried it didn't look that good. And the next day it went back to looking like shit.

What exactly do you want your hair to look like? Do you want it to be less fluffy? You ask for help but give us nothing to work with.

I want it to look attractive to most women but I don't want it to look like a trendy tik tok style or smth

I think it looks pretty good in the picture where it's wet and I have conditioner left in so something similar to that except it doesnt go back to looking like shit by the end of the day

Also I'm a minimalist so would prefer if the routine is simple and my hair looks natural / doesn't look like its drenched in 5 pounds of hair product

Based on what you are saying your hair is having trouble with holding on to moisture (that's why it's so puffy/frizzy after drying)
There could be two causes
>Your hair isn't moisturized enough.
This can be caused by a conditioner that doesn't suit your hair or a bad combination of conditioner strength and climate(Moisturizing conditioners (humectant) pull water into your hair but if it's a bad combo it can actually push it out. This usually happens in warmer/more humid climates)
>You don't use occlusive products to keep the water in.
If you don't seal in the water with some silicons or oils it won't stay there (silicons should be avoided by most because they cause build up. Some people with fine hair can use them. Your hair looks like it's thick)

You should have products that give your hair 3 different things:
>Protein, moisture, occlusion.
You want a simple routine so i recommended having 3 different conditioners with those 3 components dominating the ingredient lists of each one.You use one of them during a wash day according to what your hair needs (you can look up sings of hair being over or under moisturized etc)
>Styling products
One or two should be enough. You should have a curling product (creams, leave in conditioners, mousses)and a product that will help your hair hold its shape (gels, mousses)
>Shampoo
Shampoo doesn't really matter for hair it only cleaneses your scalp so just choose a gentle one to avoid overstriping your skin from oils because that causes it to become oily faster

Continued
The type of hair products you choose depends on a lot of factors:hair porosity,
hair thickness, hair density, hair type, budget ,location.
>hair porosity
It affects what type of:oils, proteins etc you should use and have in your products. For example some oils don't "seep" into low porosity hair. The oil then stays ON the hair. It makes it look and feel oily. You can look up which ingredients to use and avoid once you find out what your hair porosity is. Most people online say you should determine it by a special test BUT IT IS BULLSHIT. Ask yourself how quickly does you hair get wet in the shower? Mine (high porosity) takes like 5 seconds or less but my friend (low porosity) has to move it around and it takes around one minute.
>hair thickness
>hair density
>hair type
They affect what kind of styling products you should use. For example i have extremely fine hair and it gets weighed down easily because of that i can't use creams and leave in conditioners and some hair gels. I have to style my hair sligthy dry and not dripping wet like most people. Fine hair loves protein. There are a lot of different ways to style your hair and dry it. If your hair takes to long to dry you can look into bonnets and diffusing.
>DO NOT
Brush your hair when dry
Touch you hair during drying after styling
Use heat without using heat protecting products (sprays etc)
Wash your hair with hot/warm water ( it doesn't need to be ice cold)
>DO
Dry you hair only with t shirts and microfiber towels
Read and cross reference ingredient lists with info online (is it cg? Is a website that can help with that)

These are the products I have now. I'm going to get a gel soon

I read the curly girl method so I guess I will try to follow it basically like this

[co wash (shampoo instead once every 3rd month), condition, gel, air dry, scrunch out the crunch]

I've never used a hair brush in my life but I'll try using one just to see how it looks

My hair type is 3a. For porosity I'm not sure. Leaning towards high porosity because it can get wet and dry quickly and it's frizzy all the time but I don't pay attention to my hair that much so I could just be retarded
