99% of people who start caring about fashion fall into some kind of "core" or "style" and just ape it completely. Usually for men it's some kind of smart casual thing and it just looks cringe and gay most of the time. Yes it's better than being in basketball shorts and beer-stained shirts but not by much.

I think men need to take a hard look at themselves not only physically but also figure out who they are, and tailor their fits around that, and let it evolve over time. Learn the basics and get a feel for what goes together and what clearly doesn't, and then improvise a little.

This is why just changing it up slightly like work wear pants and plain white tees is so effective and immediately striking. It's different without being tryhard and cringe.

Otherwise you end up looking like a jeet trying to mimic human behavior.

35 year old here. I usually wear Hawaiian shirts and other short sleeve button ups. Khaki shorts or something similar. I have been dressing this way for going on 15 years. Am I /fa/?
>>
It just turns into a hobby for people, and it's no longer about wearing something that's a balance of comfort, looking good and liking yourself, it's about exercising your hobby.
But you're right.
>>
>>18527838
A very expensive hobby indeed. Free yourself from this cage, if you have half a brain left.
>>
>>18527840
I don't have this problem, my problem is just having too many things I like and thus buying too much (affordable) shit.
>>
>>18527832
Guys who get into fashion in their 30s are usually dorks trying to get laid or make friends. Those sorts of people tend to lack their own sense of style and are often autism-adjacent so they need really specific guides and rules. Not that I'm that much different, I'm also a 30-something loser, just a different kind with my own taste that leads to decent fits just because everything I buy is in the same general vein, even though it comes from various "cores." (Mix of western, work, /out/, and military but all in the same general earth tone/muted color pallete.)

I hope so because we're on the same path. 32 here. I've been embracing the patterned button-ups and Hawaiians for the last 6 years, luckily. Summer is easy and when it gets cool enough where I live, I wear them layered with a jacket skinny jeans and boots for the rocker/Mick Jagger look. It's got character without looking like I am trying to be a teenager (hopefully).

>>18527832
that manlet jew is so ugly and cant dress lol. poor choice for your argument
>>
>>18527921
We need some kind of a solution for our problem on both the right and left pics

He is ugly, but he looks and dressed much better than you, and you won't ever post a picture where you look better than this, proving the point.

This meme has to end. In a couple years you will all be nauseated to death by that shitty style. You braindead zoomers do not understand even the most basic things of how fashion moves and evolves.

hate how they cropped his shirt for this phot shoot. he looks good in most of the show but the promo photo shirt is goofy as fuck
>>
>>18528105
The only thing these stupid fucks knew while growing up was skinny jeans. So when they saw high rise baggy jeans (retardedly sagged to low rise), suddenly to them that was the greatest thing since sliced bread. But to older generations, that's just a stupid bastardized version of late 90s baggy style.
>>
>>18528108
His shirts are cropped through all of the show, they look horrible on taller people already, they would look awful on a short guy like him.

Winter: sneakers, jeans, hoodie ,jacket
Summer: sneakers, jeans, t-shirt

Simple, stylish, timeless, mogs "core" fits

The problem is that for most people dressing well is both contextual and functional. But we live in a world where people work dead end jobs or from home. If you wear sneakers, you look immature. If you wear penny loafers, you look old. If you wear, birkenstocks you’re chasing trends. If you wear work boots or cowboy boots, you’re LARPing. You literally cannot win.
>>
The jeet isn't into fashion(phone in front) and you gotta clear the mental that some people don't have ulterior motives for dressing up a lil.

He's just a normal bloke who wants to look presentable in public and seems happy after a random street photographer validated him.

Is there a reason you can't get a standard men's haircut and shave? just got to a barber and say, can i get a haircut please, and don't specify anything. let him look at your face and hair and make a judgment call, 100% odds he will do a better job than you, his business is doing standard men's haircuts all fucking day long
>>
>>18529392
It's amazing people need to be told basic things these days. I never ask my barber for any specific hairstyle. He always gives me the haircut that looks best for my head's shape, face, build and hairline.
>>
>>18527832
basically they look silly because it's completely inauthentic. they're buying clothing that implies a certain identity that they don't really possess. this is true, and they do look silly, but this also applies to basically any man who dresses up beyond what is explicitly expected of him. you're responding to a lack of authenticity implicit in trying to make yourself look like something you aren't, this is a socially imposed reaction since men "shouldn't" essentially cosplay.

but as a man in the west you are basically only supposed to dress for your station. work outfit, and casual/dress clothes appropriate for where you spend your time. anything else is a form of what the cringe millennial workwear dudes are doing. basically the guy who shops for loose fitting cheap workweak at costco and wears technical button ups to his state jobs annual BBQ adheres more to your philosophy. fashion is a consumerist hobby, it is inherently inauthentic. you're trying to fit into a premade mold no matter what. theorizing about why certain outfits are cringe inevitably lead to the conclusion that trying beyond the basics is absurd. most of us are simply trying to avoid looking dumpy and got funneled into corporate ideas of beauty. all of fashion is this trick. you either embrace it or not.

>Am I /fa/?
Depends. Any type of fashion or article of clothing can be /fa/ if...
1. You're fit and attractive.
2. The clothes are passable quality.
3. Each piece of clothing has the right fit and is styled well within the context of the overall outfit.

You all are wasting your time discussing clothes that celebrities wear, clothes that are chosen by CeLEBritY STYLISTS. You honestly think this rich motherfucker is online shopping for hours every night in his free time? Stylists are knocking down actors' doors to put them in the brands they're selling so that people see paparazzi pics and go THATS WHAT ME WANT TOO. Line sells out in less than an hour.

And they're all 5'8.
>>
>>18530201
We’re already beyond that. Hollywood actors are a dead 20th century concept. Even with Netflix. The relevant generations don’t care about actors. They care about TikTok influencers with the sharpest anime-like faces.

Mr Pitt >>18528129

These are examples of good fashion ITT. /fa/ posts pics of celebrities, actual actor celebrities, not influencers nearly as much. And they're falsely correlating pics of this manlet with 30+ y/o male fashion as a whole.

I'm not talking about the streaming media landscape. I'm saying taking a celebrity guy's streetwear pic out of context is setting ones' self up for buying expensive shit that looks bad on you or worse, just feeling like a total loser for not having multiple celebrity stylists throwing fully coordinated designer outfits at you for free.
