why did the EDC subculture die so suddenly? is it because nobody takes public transportation or travels anymore?
I think people came to realize carrying more than 3 things in your pants without a backpack was an stupid and embarrassing larp, most men have a car or at least a backpack if they need more than their wallet, phone and keys on them at all times, where are you keeping all that shit anyway, your purse?
>>18528580Carrying a bunch of trash with you gets older quite quick I guess, after you take your pic and circlejerk with redditors it looms upon you how you just have wasted money for no reason
The "I need to have a SOG CPM30V assault tanto with me at all times and if you question this it means you're a gun grabbing libtard" neckbeards grew up and either got an actual gun because they were finally old enough, or they realized the whole thing was cringe and moved on to less incel-coded consumer hobbies like watches or apparel.
i think it fell back into each hobby being niche. knife guys arent neccesarily gun guys. gun guys arent neccesarily watch guys. watch guys arent neccesarily bushcraft-carry-fire-starting-shit-all-the-time guys thats on top of 90% being pointless. it's 1999+20+6 you barely even need a wallet anymore. i enter my house via numpad and i mostly carry my phone and a tube of chapstick
>>18528796Really thinking about ditching the wallet and just carrying a phone and gun. I pretty much never need cash and I could just keep my drivers license or other ID's in the car or attached to the phone for when I need them. I just cant bring myself to stop bringing the wallet entirely, since I'm worried about that nightmare situation where I lose my phone and I'm fucked.
>>18528580reddit subculture that one upped itself into oblivion phone wallet keys doesn't get upboats the guy with a knife gets more impressions the guy with a gun gets more impressions the guy with $500 utensils and trinkets gets more impressions how long can you keep this up until people realize how insane it is to be carrying around so much shit for no reason and it's all just been one consumerist LARP fest from the beginning
>>18528800its nice desumight be harder outside the city, but i pretty much only drive to work, take transit the rest of the time; i mostly dont need my id (i look old enough not to get ID'd for a beer, and i dont drink much anyway) and everywhere takes apple pay. its ironic because i do like edc type things like knives and watches but i really only need my knife at work, not out on the town
