My point was moreso that I don't value watches nearly enough.
The thought of buying a watch instead of a car or saving the money instead just does not compute in my brain.
People who buy watches like this are either ones who, like you said, forego other aspects of their life for the sake of their hobby, or the absolute top 1% who think of this sort of money as pocket change, as if they were simply buying a Casio from amazon.
