I attended a career expo not long ago and was downright appalled at the amount of ill-fitting suits I saw there:

>some suits worn right off the rack, no efforts made have them tailored
>suits that were clearly made for the person 50 lbs ago
>mismatched metals/belts/shoes

What gives? Do people just not care or what?

We are living in uncultured degenerate times. It's more surprising they even bothered to wear a suit in the first place and not show up in joggers and hoodies. The fashion icons of men today aren't actual men, but niggers and drug addicts, and think dressing properly, seriousness and discipline is "cringe" and for "boomers". This is what decades of casualization of clothing, conduct, society and culture as a whole does.

What kills me is that this was a career expo, the kind of environment where you absolutely want to put your best foot forward, but it seemed like almost everyone in attendance assumed they weren't going to be judged on their appearance. I don't care if they were the most qualified engineer on earth, dressing like a complete sperg will get you DQ'd in my book

>reeeee why is this guys suit he'll wear once in his life doesn't fit him perfectly and doesn't follow all the madeup menswear rules that i know of???? how can he be a button pusher if his suit is ill fitting reeee
why do you care so much about what an engineer wears? he's there to, you know, engineer stuff, not to look good
unless youre working in finance/law/some other industry that absolutely requires you wear formal attire every day who cares?

Get off this board you filthy mongrel.

>you just HAVE to waste money on a suit you won't wear for 99,9% of your life, OKAY????

Nobody's stopping you from wearing a suit everyday you filthy mongrel. And what kind of a beggar doesn't have enough money in his entire lifetime to spend on a suit?

im wearing a tshirt and jeans though. nobody's stopping me from wearing that either, and it's unreasonably more convenient and versatile than a suit
>And what kind of a beggar doesn't have enough money in his entire lifetime to spend on a suit
why should i spend money on clothes ill never wear more than like three times
>>
>>18535318
>why do you care so much about what an engineer wears?
Its general problem solving within an established set of rules. If you can't even manage that with some pieces of fabric I question your ability to do it with metal and concrete. Not caring also signals you lack social awareness, which means you will eventually become poison in any kind of team.

>>18535397
there's no reason for an engineer to wear a suit, unless it's a job interview
>>
Nobody gives two shits about suits anymore and rightfully so. I enjoy wearing a tailored, fully canvassed quality suit but it’s a relic from the past. An outdated uniform.
I work in finance and meet with industry leaders face to face almost everyday. Rarely do I see anyone in a full suit.
If you think wearing one will elevate you in any kind of job, you’re most likely not good at that job anyway.

The only people criticizing others for their lack of standardized clothing are the same people who demand you call them by their title. Aka: those who are terrible at their job and therefore have to validate their position in other ways. By creating decoys, so to speak.

This is what I'm talking about. Negrified degenerates taking pride in the casualiziation and debasement of everything. They have no class, decorum, or sense of aesthetics. Uncultured utilitarian golems who can't think beyond base needs and utility, and a subsistent existence.
>>
>>18535423
the reason people wear hoodies instead of suits now is the same reason people stopped wearing 18th century royal dress and started wearing the suits you love so much btw
>>
>>18535423
Did it feel strange to be the best dressed in the room. Almost like wearing tails to a monster truck rally. You're not dressing professionally, you're dressing like a snob.

Why would anyone give a shit about looking good in a suit they'll wear once a decade?
>>
>off rack (i know)
>tailored
>can't into ties
>still feel like a kid playing dress up
At least now I know I hate polyester but no idea what would feel decent to wear all day
>>
Suits need to go the way of the dodo. Way too expensive if you want something half-decent. We should take inspiration from finance, etc. and just be wearing a nice shirt, sweater, chinos, etc. as we would on the job.
>>
>>18535846
Suits aren't t-shirts that you consoom every couple of months. They're an investment for several years and even decades to come. So of course a good suit is expensive. And you can buy separates, you know? You don't need to wear a full on matching suit every time. Just buy different coats, blazers and sports coats and mix and match them with your dress pants and shirts.

When people bitch about suits, it's mostly about the coat. The rest of the suit is just a regular dress shirt and slacks (and a tie). There's also the waistcoat but barely anyone wears it these days. But for a suit to look good, you need to get the fit of the coat right. That's where most of the expense goes when getting a tailored suit.

>>18535777
get a charcoal or navy suit in worsted wool.
>>18535846
I'm sick of you people offending my eyes with nigger joggers everywhere.

Dress like shit if you want. It will cost you opportunities.
>>
>>18536047
Why do all of these guys look late 30s? Do suits make men look old?
>>
>>18536074
It's the beard and side part. And these days people associate suits with boomers and the 1950s. Even a regular dress shirt and slacks will make a lot of younger men appear older (like a dad) because those kinds of clothes are associated with older generations.
>>
>>18536087
Not surprised. I walked among the poors today and the most common outfit was shit jeans with some gay AF graphic T. Most popular was marvel shit...with dudes in the mid 30s to 50s.
