got my first suit at suit supply and I feel like it looks bad. For one the sleeves are too long (To fix apparently it needs to be at the shoulder because of functional buttons) and I think the waist looks boxy (He took it in at the back not the waist). The salesman rushed me through the whole process probably fucked up the alterations maybe even the whole suit size and I feel like I got fucked. I'm going to take to a tailor, besides sleeves what else should I ask for? How fucked am I? Am I over thinking this? I'm having a full blown autistic meltdown.
>>
It’s a bit long but it gets the job done. Were in a post suit world now.

I'm also just fat, ugly and built stupid so maybe it's just my dumb ugly body and face making me look bad like I do in everything else. The shirt he sold me looks even worse without the jacket.
>>
The sleeves are fine. I don't buy into the "rule" about how much cuff should be shown; it's stupid.

The rest looks fine, except for the waist which should be brought in.
>>
Bump

Cuffs could be a bit more pulled in, but unless suit supply is going to fix it or pay to fix it, it's not that bad. You can tell if the jacket is right or not by feeling where your shoulder bone is and seeing if that matches the sleeve, but you're not wrinkling so it's probably fine. Length looks fine, generally want it where you can cup the jacket by curling your hands. Waist should be tucked in a bit where it's wrinkling under your arm pits. Most things except the arm alteration are cheap alterations at least.

Personally I think the shirt would be better in traditional white or pastels. The black shirt look has aged like milk.
>>
>>18539451
As an extra point I forgot to mention, for the future go with a local menswear store or haberdashery and skip suit supply. The sales associates are usually trained, give a damn, and aren't trying to rush you through the process. The local ones near me even offer lifetime alterations and are willing to do some pretty drastic stuff even with just an off the rack purchase.

>>18539434
Unless you're a nightclub owner or you're doing a John Wick cosplay, get a lighter shirt. Black shirts make you look like you pimp out underage girls, especially with your long black hair and beard.
>>
>>18539488
I ended up booking an appointment with a local alterations tailor, going to have sleeves on the shirt slimmed and try to get them and the suit sleeves shorter. Also the waist fixed if it's possible after the dumb alterations they did at suit supply. Anything else I should ask while I'm there?

>>18539537
I am autistic music guy so my entire wardrobe is black band shirts, black jeans/joggers and a few hoodies. I feel uncomfortable in bright colors as it feels like it highlights my wide hips and love handles and it's also unfamiliar to me. Any darker or earthy colors I can wear in a shirt without looking stupid or should I just accept I'm cooked.
>>
>>18539488
When you say local mensware do you mean like, mom and pop type places? Im not sure where I would find that. I'm in Delco if that helps. I work In a blue collar field but have worked my way into a marketing position so I'm trying to learn to dress more business casual in general so I can then move into a completely white collar environment.
>>
>>18539557
They want you to dress like it’s the 50s.

Yeah you say that but then I show up like this because I'm autistic and then I look autistic, ugly, fat, built weird, AND gay. No thanks, at least underage girl pimp or night club owner gets pussy.
>>
>>18539557
Mom and pop, yes. Look up "haberdashery" or just "men's shop" "menswear" and start scrolling until you find something that doesn't look like a chain store. Look at pictures of the store and see if you like the style. Most mall stores cater to melanin enriched individuals. A decent menswear store will have a reasonable selection of suits, trousers, jackets, dress shirts, and shoes, and the sales associates should know how to fit and get you going with a modern professional look. They probably will suggest just a dress shirt and trousers if your suit is salvageable.

>>18539537
Embrace the contrast wearing the suit, you're wasting your money on what amounts to a black slab otherwise.

>Anything else I should ask while I'm there?
A good tailor will know what alterations are required or necessary.
>>
>>18539583
Thanks, Like I said: I'm having a full blown melt down over this. I try not to think about how I look 99% of the time because I end up hyper fixating on all of the flaws and I fall into body dysmorphic psychosis but now that I'm trying to move up a little in the world Im forced to analyze my look and how I'm coming off. I'll try to find something decent when I start building out the wardrobe, the suit was my first step because I have a wedding to go to. (My freinds are all also band guys so the black wont be super out of place)
>>
>>18539590
It's serviceable as is, and it doesn't look terrible, just could be a bit better if those alterations are done. I'm autistic about details with my menswear once I notice things are off, but I prefer traditional style over modern tbf.

Also hear me out if you are determined to keep the black shirt; wear a tie, bowtie, ascot, or even just a pocket square to give *some* color to the ensemble.
>>
>>18539599
What color? I immediately think red or maroon but the more I think about it the more cringe and emo that seems. Should I match the pocket square to the tie or is that also cringe and a sin?
>>
>>18539599
Also im not necessarily determined I just don't think I have time to get anything before the wedding. Best alternatives I have is black turtle neck (It's high quality cotton and I find it much more flattering than the oxford shirt) or a medium forest green Ralph Lauren Polo shirt I got and Macy's a few months ago.
>>
>>18539429
Narrow shoulders
>>
>>18539720
Yes, I'm genetically fucked. Wide hips, Norwood 2, Chin/jawlet and just generally ugly too. Was hoping a suit with a structure shoulder might make me feel a little bit better about myself but evidently not.

I've seen worse
I'd recommend a white shirt so that you don't look like a Dollar Store brand John Wick Halloween costume
Also wear a simple tie
A gray suit is harder to pull off without a tie compared to something like a blue suit

Actually no, my shoulder length is 18" (within normal) and when I wear a t shirt I look normal and not dumpy So wtf is going on here? Am I just fat and need to lose my love handles? Wearing my pants too high?
>>

it's not long dumbass it's where it should sit

Ok so even when I tuck in a t shirt to jeans I don't look nearly as narrow and gay as with that shirt/suit. Wtf is going on and how do I fix it
>>
>>18539878
Stop being fat, spam side lateral raises, suit jacket might be able to be taken in in the waist in the future, also your dress shirt sleeves are way too baggy and long
The t shirt sillouette is fucked because of the sleeve holes or something which results in the fabric of your left arm pointing out like that and fucking the whole thing up
>>
>>18539429
All of it is a tad too long, not just the sleeves.
The shoulders look the right width, but the chest looks too large.
The way to take in a suit at the waist (that is, at waist height) is to tuck it in at the center back stitch, so that's not the issue.
With your physique, if you go to a tailor you might ask them to shorten the sleeves and whether they think it's a good idea to take it slightly in at the chest too, it will still look a bit too long for someone's tastes but it's perfectly acceptable.
>>18539434
The shirt's really not your cut but it's acceptable under a jacket.
If you own another shirt that's probably going to look better, and if not you might go to the thrift store and find something that fits you better for 15 euros.
>>18539590
I recommend you find the time to go for a run every day, or every other day if that's not doable.
You're not in great shape but you can change most of it.
>>18539683
I recommend you do not wear a tie unless you feel particularly comfortable in one, and definitely don't wear a bow tie or an ascot, unless you're at a black tie event or a renaissance fair you'll look out of place.
>>
>>18539683
Silver tie with a silver pocket square but with different patterns; ie silver and black check pattern on the tie and silver paisley on the pocket square.

The idea is that if you do wear neckwear and a pocket square you don't want them to completely match, but you want one to at least contain a color similar to the other.

Hope you have dress shoes and are not doing the sneaker with suit crap
>>
>>18539952
Yeah I got some black loafers. I too hate that look
>>
>>18539925
I'm not particularly comfortable in any of this so I'm not eager to wear a tie and I've been hitting the gym 4 days a week lifting/ working towards a 10 minute mile for 3 weeks now so I'll keep to it. Going to try to just skip meals every day now aswell.
>>
>>18539965
Nigga you ain't fat, just keep doing what you said you're doing. And stop stressing over this shit. If you don't get everything perfect for the wedding it won't be the end of the world. You'll still have a suit that should last years and can be tailored to your body changes, and you can experiment and find what looks best on you with time.

Different dress pants and the turtleneck. While I admit I don't have the best build nor am in the best shape this is considerably better looking than the dress shirt and tux IMO so that leads me to believe the whole suit is poorly fitted
>>
>>18539551
>>18539590
The black shirt doesn't look bad enough to say never wear it, but it isn't working as well for you as a lighter shirt would.
>Any darker or earthy colors I can wear in a shirt without looking stupid
Go to ChatGPT
Upload a photo of your face and hair in natural light
Ask it what your colour season is
Google the answer and pick a dark colour from the palettes you get
Ultimately, the important thing is being comfortable in your clothes. There's no point wearing what feels like a costume or makes you self-conscious. You should feel like your clothes make you look the best you can, as you are now. You also don't have to totally overhaul your wardrobe all at once.
>>
>>18539582
That fit might work if he switched the shirt out for a black one and switched the glasses out for shades.
>>
>>18539429
For suit supply suit it's nothing special (both in terms of having to worry or having to boast about). The length is correct but the sleeves opening feels too wide.
Lose weight and work on your chest and arms so they're wider than your hips.
The shirt armhole is too low and the sleeves are too wide.
Length is suspicious, stand up straight, then bend your arm at the elbow to 90 degrees, the cuff should cover your wrist bone, if it goes past the wristbone then it's too long.
ALso, generally the shirt sleeve should protrude from the jacket sleeve from between 1-2.5cm
>>
>>18539434
>I'm also just fat, ugly and built stupid
I know your pain...
I got wide hips, and even though my shoulders are wider, I really have to watch my weight or everything goes straight to my hips/stomach.

>>
>>18539878
your pants look gay
>>
>>18540357
I don't normally wear them like that, I was demonstrating that while not in great shape and not having a very great frame, the suit and shirt make me look particularly faggy and gay.
>>
>>18540305
The suit you posted isn't shit, it's just not cut for your body shape.
It's impossible to tell the quality of a suit from a single picture, though it looks like it's cut for a body shape even further from yours.
>>
Fit isn’t perfect but it’s pretty decent imo. Looks good anon.

Wear a white shirt with a tie and get the sleeves tailored to show a little cuff.

Looks alright but the blazer obviously looks cheap. A decent quality "off the rack" blazer is 1100 in the EU and I can only speculate how expensive a jacket is in the US because of tarifs.
You probably paid that much for the whole thing.
>>
Idk what you’re talking about. This isn’t great but it’s good. Sure, the jacket could fit a little better, the sleeves could be tailored, the pants could be a bit less loose, and we don’t know what the break looks like but probably not optimal. Still, nothing about this is bad per se.
