I found an older model (2020) in my size at this one store (ordinary sport show) and it's apparently leather and not PU (newer ones are synthetic upper)
$40 usd.
BUT the right shoe sole's rubber bit in the front and another small patch in the back is GREY. (Same shoe had a few bits of fine dust on it here and there like it wasn't kept in the box)
Is it sun aging or something? It's not yellow, just completely grey silverish color.

Store worker said its probably a factory mistake and I can't whiten it. I acted like a gypo and complained and she said they could lower it another 10%.

Can I fix it by leaving it in the sun with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda or something? And it will become white?

Anyone know?

recycled polyester isnt even any better for the environment. they're literally selling you wishful thinking that one day the recycling process will get better. the only actually eco friendly way to recycle synthetics is garment to garment. i think there's a sneaker brand out there doing it but i forgot who and i don't think they have done a general release like that.

just wear goretex sneakers?
>>
>>18546427
Seems a bit limiting. There appear to be plenty of products for leather boots and stuff that work well, just wondering if there's an equivalent to help protect sneakers made from canvas or similar.
>>
>>18546406
dunno why pajeets think converse are "immature" but wear running shoes and sandals everywhere
>>
>>18546401
Works very good for protecting suede. But no it won't instantly make your shoes waterproof. It'll just make water bead up on the surface. It only works if the shoe's actually designed to be waterproof.

>>18546427
Goretex sneakers are a borderline scam, and they're a big time "noob trap" meme in the outdoor community. On paper it seems like a good idea but in practice the goretex membrane just makes your feet sweat constantly, and they don't really keep water out either. Most of them don't even have a gusseted tongue so rain just goes right through the top.
>>
>>18546443
Any recommendations on brand? Looking for something that won't discolour absorbent surfaces like suede or canvas.

mexico 66's are still the best sneaker's i've ever worn. simple, comfy and sleak. too bad they make them in colorways that don't really appeal to me. i bought a rare colorway wayback, wore them to death. nowadays they're bit pricey as well, they used to cost 110 USD, now it's like 190...

i'd certainly buy nippon made ones if i was rich enough to put that kind of money to sneakers.

bro just go to japan for the MSRP, is that easy.
>>
>>18547372
People buy stuff pre distressed bro. Your cloths looking used isn’t a bad thing. And a good comprehensive sneaker cleaning kit is less than 100$
>>
>>18547678
Dont pay 100 bucks for shoe cleaning kit. You just need a suede brush, a leather brush and creme
>>
>>18546515
>to go to work or classes in the rain, for which goretex is fine
nah they suck for that too if you're going somewhere you leave your shoes on indoors. its like torturing yourself by putting your feet in plastic bags except the bags aren't even sealed so water can just flow right in because the lazy designers just slapped a membrane in an off the shelf silhouette without making the necessary modifications for the shoe to be even puddle resistant unless by pure coincidence the sneaker happens to be a design that doesn't leak like a sieve. it doesn't really accomplish its intended purpose and you may as well just wear rain/muck boots at that point.
>>
>>18547244
any narrow sneaker looks really good with wide jeans. i dunno chucks, sambas, onitsuka tigers, stuff shaped vaguely like that.

Any of those fancy craftsman sneakers like Northhampton or Oliver Cabell
What this anon said
>>18563119
(Not the brand gucci, but loafers with the metal clasp are called gucci loafers)
>>
lemaire linoleum sneakers, bought a pair of these and it's a bit too fancy as casual white sneakers, should I return or keep and wear with fancier outfits
>>

It's pretty good in Japan though, all the GSMs are only 14k-16k yen which is around $100 USD. Even the mexico 66 are only $100. The prices over here are insane charging $200 for onitsuka tiger

They're called horsebit loafers if they're not the brand Gucci.

I wore these black gat clones by Beckett Simonon sneakers for a few years for work but now they're falling apart and hurt my feet. Any recs bros? Honestly I might just switch to some very casual derbies instead.

>>18563808
If you're not partial to the gumsole then just get derbies for work, I just have difficulties finding something that doesn't make it look like i'm wearing clown shoes.
I was gonna recommend the adidas army trainers cause i coulda sworn they released black ones but I checked their site and good lord why can't they just make normal GAT's with appealing colors and non cracked leather. Are they allergic to sales? Or do they think it'll eat into their samba sales if they make what people want?
>>
>>18563981
Yeah I figured, thanks man. Now for the hunt for non dogshit derbies
