its always interesting when the male self harm discourse comes around. i think people would be shocked how common it is. its a pretty standard form of emotional dis regulation, so common we even observe it regularly in different kinds of animals.cutting is a very specific form, but the guys punching holes in their walls are closer to girls who cut than just about anyone else, and ive met quite a number of them. i wouldnt be surprised if a lot of the more violent sports are especially appealling to guys looking for that same pain they can focus on versus a different emotional pain they cant quite wrap their head around.

I cut myself after going through a horrible depressive phase this year. It's only three cuts on one arm, but I hate that I did it to myself. It's a sign of mental weakness and a red flag.
