Does a tailor have the ability to convert the way these trousers button on the side to a regular centered button?
Yes. Shouldn't cost a lot either.
>>18544649Yes, but why?
>>18544654Will the alteration be too visible?
>>18544649Why do you want the button at the center you pleb? And no, regular trousers don't have the button at the center. They're not chinos or jeans. Good trousers have a button and hook closure. And the button is on the side so that the belt buckle can sit better in the center. And you are supposed to wear a belt with trousers like that since they have belt loops. Going beltless looks degenerate.
>>18544667Good points but it really bothers my OCD.
>>18544672Wear a belt and you'll forget the button is even there.
>>18544675Would still tickle my jimmies...
>>18544667>>18544655Looks old-fashioned
>>18544677Trousers themselves are "old fashioned" going by what most people wear today (basketball shorts and sweatpants). And the button won't be visible in the first place since it would be behind a belt. So wear a fucking belt and get on with your day.>>18544676Then stop being gay and obsessing over inconsequential bullshit. Have sex (with a woman). Women who matter love trousers like these.
>>18544667trousers with no belt loops still have the button off center tho
>>18544736To make them more secure.
>>18544649off-centre closure is necessary to prevent the zip fly from gaping
>>18544656No. If the tailor is decent they will remove the waistband completely. Then they will1. Turn it inside out2. Sew a line further in towards the centre than the current closure3. Trim off the current button flap hole thing4. Turn inside out again so its the right way round5. Reattach the waistband6. Sew new button hole and move buttonSort of hard to explain without it in front of me to show you but basically because you are constructing a new end of the waistband from material that is already there, it should not be too obvious. Had the waistband and leg been one piece like on military uniforms, old work trousers, or on "hollywood waist" stuff you would have been screwed but it's a separate piece of fabric to the leg itself so you should be fine. Hope this helps. This is a decent amount of work and will be pricier than say shortening a sleeve at the hem. More equivalent to resetting a sleeve. Expect to pay £40+
>>18546121Actually ignore what I say about price.
