is a black suit in the morning really that big of a deal?
it is the only one i have atm
have thesis defense coming up so not that formal but not casual either
can I save it with a colored tie? what color should i choose?

Nobody cares about suiting rules anymore, as long as you wear a jacket it's considered formal and ok

i hope so
I just don't want to feel like a fag when everyone will be in a gray or navy one

I'm willing to bet half the other people in the room will wear jeans and a button-down shirt that isn't tucked in.

It’s true that the rules don’t really matter but I prefer to save my black suits for funerals and other special events. For a thesis it’s totally fine. Academics are spergs anyway.
