I've tried everything to care for my hair, different conditioners, creams, shampoos, and gels. Should I just stop using anything and only wash my hair with water? I've been going for a few days, combing after the shower, and my hair feels about the same while dry as it does while using products. It feels more tangled while I brush it than with conditioner but I'm not shedding more hair so I think it should be alright. Will this become untenable, better, or stay the same as time goes on? When my hair was shorter it was wavy and not curly, now it's curlier. Back then I wasn't really doing anything to my hair. How long should I try this experiment?
>>18547951This is fucking stupid. watch some blowout professor videos if you have long hair.
>>18547977What should I actually do instead then? I've tried dozens of different products and none of them make any difference at all.
>>18547951Yes, stop putting poisonous industrial slop in your hair everyday. That's not normal. Your hair doesn't need all that bullshit. Just wash your hair with plain water everyday. And if it starts getting greasy, wash your hair with your regular body soap or baby soap like once a week or 10 days.
no shampoo people are the same people who don’t wear deodorant because “your body naturally doesn’t need it”. stop with your disgusting hair.

I stopped using hot water and switched to shampooing maybe once per week and conditioning twice per week on average. That has enormously improved my hair. I also use this oil every now and that but I’m not sure that actually does anything.
This isn't general advice of course. But I haven't used any product in my hair in over 2 years. I have shoulder-long hair.I'm married and working in a customer-facing role. I frequently get compliments on my hair. And I have a ruthless family and friends who would tell me if I smelled.
>>18548026Your hair actually does need oils, though. You should only shampoo once per week at most, depending on your hair type. If you have curls, even less.
