Is there anyone here that does their own alterations or tailoring? I was considering going to thrift stores and getting hidden gems on the cheap, stuff that was maybe neglected for being too big, and tailoring to fit. I've got a sewing machine and the like, but wanted to see if any anons went this route or anything similar.

Wow a whole day and it turns out nobody on the fashion board could possibly ever work in fashion, even on a hobby level.

I wish… I could spend the better part of winter tailoring my clothes for spring and summer avoiding seasonal depression all together.

It takes a day or two to learn to use a sewing machine just go for it anon

I learned how to do tailoring in prison. Mostly putting pockets on the inside of boxers, repairing seams that have busted, simple shit at first. I got to where I could do some minor custom work but nothing crazy, usually just extra hidden pockets. Pretty cool skill to have so I definitely recommend it.

>>how did you learn?
3 years at Bunka Fashion College.
>>Home-altered grail
I altered a sweater from baggy to slim fit
>>what was your worst mistake?
Sewing-wise? completely wrong sleeve length on a shirt I made in my free time
>what thrift stores do you like, or how do you source your stuff?
I hate thrift stores and used clothing because there's something disgusting and scary about a certain kind of filth that cannot be washed away and whatever else that resides in someone else's clothes, I buy cloth at multiple stores around Tokyo.
>what % of your stuff is altered?
Only two things I only altered, but everything I wear where going outside aside from shoes is made by me.
>>would you say it was worth it to learn?
Yes. Making clothes is second best only to baby making.
>>do you have sex (MANDATORY TO ANSWER)
I order delivery health service to take care of me once a month and I sometimes go out to happening bars or meet with couples in need of a bull on I talk with online.
