Is there anyone here that does their own alterations or tailoring? I was considering going to thrift stores and getting hidden gems on the cheap, stuff that was maybe neglected for being too big, and tailoring to fit. I've got a sewing machine and the like, but wanted to see if any anons went this route or anything similar. >how did you learn?>what is your home-altered grail?>what was your worst mistake?>what thrift stores do you like, or how do you source your stuff?>what % of your stuff is altered?>would you say it was worth it to learn?>do you have sex (MANDATORY TO ANSWER)
Wow a whole day and it turns out nobody on the fashion board could possibly ever work in fashion, even on a hobby level.
I wish… I could spend the better part of winter tailoring my clothes for spring and summer avoiding seasonal depression all together.

I learned how to do tailoring in prison. Mostly putting pockets on the inside of boxers, repairing seams that have busted, simple shit at first. I got to where I could do some minor custom work but nothing crazy, usually just extra hidden pockets. Pretty cool skill to have so I definitely recommend it.
