For purposes of looking neutrally respectable without making any kind of statement or having the outfit talk louder than the person wearing it, what is the ideal color of trousers with a blue hopsack jacket (NOT with brass buttons), assuming white shirt, and no tie. Assume american northeast context, middle to upper middle class, big city.

Khaki seems too nautical/yacht club. Would rather avoid the "how to dress like white people" old money clown outfit meme infographic look. Yes I know real people dress like that, no I am not interested in emulating them. Would rather err on the side of looking like a soulless eurocrat in Bruxelles at one of those "not a work event" work events where everyone has to load up on xanax and act like they're just relaxed and having fun with their friends while subtly gathering gossip material to stab each other in the back later. "Non statement statement" is the statement I want to make. Not "The Armoury" cosplay, but not "Mens Wearhouse" slop. More like briefly glance at jacket, notice it's nice, wonder briefly where it's from, realize you don't give a shit, and engage in soul-crushing small talk about the weather or sportsball or "agentic AI".

Charcoal seems like "two mismatched suit parts". Medium grey then? Light grey birds eye? Thank you for reading my blog.

Here we go, another anti performative fag.
You turd suckers really lag on all trends.
>>

I'm not "anti" people who want to dress up like picrel, but there is a time and place, surely you understand this?
>>
>>18560266
Not him, but you can show a little personality in your outfits. Haven’t seen anyone wear brown suits for years.
>>

Time and place. "Showing personality" is for a night at the opera. But you probably bitch about "people over 30 wearing t shirts" and unironically think people should wear their pinstripe zoot suit and fedora to the beach

I'm just saying that the "non performative" trend is the new "minimalist" or "old money" trend, it's pushed by the algorythm hard.
You're barely sentient if you're jumping on this trend right now.

Old Money is awesome.

Bro, you are literally mentally ill. See a therapist.

Ooh, olive, I didn't think of that. I'm leaning hard towards grey but I like the idea.

They are the same picture.

Don't you think I know that? I didn't ask to be like this.

Pic related or khaki chinos are the classic options.
