Why did male fashion undergo debimboification and how do we fix this tragedy?
>>
>>18560651
we already did, those who want to dress like this can dress like this if they put their mind to it

but the thing is,
what Beau Brummell did for mens fashion shouldn't be discounted as making it "boring", he democratized mens fashion for more men, and eventually men from all classes, and began a codification of rules, standards, and tropes that evolved into what we now understand as 21st century menswear, which is a broad palette with a large enough pool of cultural signifiers, contributed by all social classes and corners of the world, that one can communicate nearly anything they wish to about themselves with the right choice of clothing.

That isn't to say I'd be against a "re-bimbofication" of male fashion that doesn't veer into outright crossdressing, but personally, I like the elegance of a 21st century formal suit, and I think that style of clothing paired with makeup, wigs, and a more effeminate but not gaudy sensibility towards colors, patterns, and hairstyles is a lovely aesthetic that I'd love to see more of in the world.

this made me think, you associate dressing in expensive and delicate clothing with stupidity, but to me it's the opposite. if you put no effort into your appearance and wear something like a gray tshirt and a pair of dirty overalls, you're like a child or an animal. it also takes more mental capacity to succeed at life enough to be able to wear expensive and intricate clothing and accessories.
>>
>>18561823
I was thinking more in terms of being "slutty and flamboyant". Good to know you have an insanely dim view of common people though
>>
were i a noble backwhen i would dress like descartes or spinoza. all black, black stockings, hits of white and silver on my cuffs and buckled shoes respectively. i never knew why some of them went for this. maybe they were chuds and didnt like the feminine fashions of the day.

common people used to dress in a way that would probably be considered flamboyant by today's standards, even if it was considered basic back then. nowadays the masculine default is a beerbellied skinnyfat man wearing a graphic t-shirt, a faded half open zip up hoodie, cheap jeans and old dirty sneakers.

You're joking, right? Common people wore shitty earth-toned stuff, because colors before synthetic dyes and all that weren't affordable at all for the common man and like 99% lived in what today would be considered poverty. These days it would be considered a larp, not "flamboyant" lmao.
>>
>>18560651
If you want to dress like this then you should. I wear a kaleidoscope of colors, silks, and 10lb of jewelry every day and I get endless compliments. Women especially love it. I'm not a cute twink either I'm a large, overweight, bearded man with the hair of a homeless guy. Throw on a ruffle, drink often, and carry yourself confidently, then this style will be better for you than any of the retarded bullshit you'll hear on this board.
>>
>>18564886
>Common people wore shitty earth-toned stuff,
That's bullshit fantasy history peddled by (((hollywood))). Medieval people wore plenty of colorful clothing, not just in Europe but the entire world. Natural plant based dyes weren't all that expensive in the medieval times because people were surrounded by nature and farms. The expensive ones were usually mineral dyes.

Is it really still his fault? Nobody dresses like that anymore, most people dress like homeless people. Actually I take that back I've seen homeless people better dressed than half the population.
>>
>>18569584
Too short, actually. They're sized for each other but your wrist shouldn't be so far away from the cuffs. Get your jacket altered and get a new shirt. Make sure to get the last cuff button moved to the front. Do MTO/MTM on the shirt if you're in between sizes. Your collar points are way too small in general so you need a new shirt anyway. You have the same issue RFK has with his collar. The points should reach your lapels.
>>
>>18568948
Men were wearing plenty of colors and patterns throughout the 1950s-2000s. It's only zoomers and millennials who stopped wearing colors in the name of "muh minimalism". Now the only thing these cucks wear are white, grey and black, and navy blue if they were feeling a bit bold that day.

>>
>>18569584
What the fuck is that collar, genuinely baffled at how small it is, the tie doesn't fit underneath it, never seen something like that before
When bending your arm at the elbow at 90 degrees the edge of the cuffs should cover your wrist bone.
while the balance of shirt sleeve to jacket sleeve is correct, they are a size too small
The pants are still too short even though you're wearing heels which follows a bit different rules.

male fashion is pretty gay today, not because of the clothes, but because men aren't men anymore. you can dress androgynously and still be manly, it's just how you present yourself. look at someone in the realms of mick jagger, later era david bowie, new wave artists and even prince. people nowadays just don't know how to dress therefore, they have no realm to experiment. fashion is about balance and creativity.

>>
>>18560651
Here's an idea. A lot of male fashion comes from military clothing. Now, after the Renunciation, clothes became more muted, but military dress did not. We can steal certain things from military dress and give it our own little code of things that they mean, things like cords, beret and flash, and colors. Depending on the style, tights, high heels, and feathers are a possibility. We just have to tweak it.
>>
>>18581750
>ZOMGGG IS THAT A COLOR AND NOT JUST WHITE OR GREY???!1!! THATS FLAMBOYANT AS FUCK NIGGA
>>
>>18581754
No, anon. I just like how that particular Soldier looks because it's the odd military uniform that is tight. It was designed by Franco's wife, by the way. But Soldiers have cords that mean certain things depending on their country, their flash on the beret is their regiment and so on, so why can't we go with baroque meanings of things like flowers used to have? Have rings on your jacket? How many? That can mean something. Have a cord? What color, what shoulder? That can mean something too. We can even do tights, anon.

It really was that big. That's pretty normal with high-end cars of the era, they were basically built like today's trucks since they hadn't really figured out unibody construction yet, engines were extremely inefficient so they needed to be gigantic to have decent power, and most roads sucked back then so they needed big tires and lots of ground clearance.

If all men looked and dressed like this there would be no fertility crisis
>>
>>18560651
Shifting societal views basically - men were meant to be entirely rational and ascetic in appearance. There are multiple movements challenging this but it’s probably unrealistic to have a mass return to something like the grand styles of dress in the 1730s; people are simply too stuck in their ways.

is it me or do you have a long neck, makes your shoulders look narrow
>>

There actually will be. Most men will be too busy raping the bussies of other men dressed in these zesty outfits because they'll think they are women. There will be chaos and madness everywhere. So careful what you wish for.

How does he look so masculine wearing pink? I think this is the true test. Wear something batshit insane and still look masculine in it and you're good to go.

Pink was originally a masculine color until the 1800s.

It still is if you're not a bitch about it

Okay but why is black and blue rational?
>>
>>18594498
NTA but it's because black and blue (and even brown) aren't flashy colors. They don't screaming for attention. They're subtle and understated, so the focus will be more on you, your character and your behavior instead of being stolen by your clothes. You could also use something like white or beige, but they get dirty easily. So darker colors are the logical choice and why whites are usually worn on the inside, like the shirt of a suit.

I see. Lets hope we can fix that in the modern era
>>
I needed to get a new scarf and winter hat lately and mum was like buy grey or black son but I thought I don't want black or grey because they are boring and everybody wears them and I am a bit gay anyway so I got a white comfy beanie and beige-brown patterned scarf did I do good bros
I think she wants me to wear more masculine stuff but in her mind masculine equals dark and muted blacks and greys

>>18594567
Yes. You did good. Fuck the pathetic NPC trend of wearing only grey and black. You could have gone even further and bought a red, blue or a multicolored scarf to add some highlight and a contrasting piece to your outfit.
