Why if it were an elderly person would it be less embarrassing?
>>18563420Get into #oldmoney instead
>>18563424lmao look at this faggot, he is wearing an overshirt over a fucking turtleneck, what the fuck, and you posted this retarded shit approvingly, you are a fucking sponge of a twat you know? You know they dress the models like that so you will buy more shit, you know that right? Or did you think they dressed him like that because it was a good fit? Gullible fucking moron you are, holy shit. I can't get over this, you posted a picture of a guy wearing an overshirt over a turtleneck hahaha like you thought that looked good and cool! You probably know weird japanese words, whats the fish word for horrible? Like loser, he's wearing a white winter fit, like what the fuck, white? for winter? is he trying to look like he suck starts Dehli? Holy fuck this is bad on so many levels and you posted it! Like "Hey guys check out this #goodfit" and you posted it! Like get brain surgery you utter baboon. Leave. Go. hahaha actually stay its funny laughing at you. He matches the shoes to the jacket holy fuck Im dying
>>18563849The old money kid isn't very smart. He basically just judges the quality of the fit based on if it includes particular items or not. No regard for how they fit together.
>>18563420To me, the flat cap and chains are the only embarassing part
>>18563849>horrible in japaneseHidoi...
>>18563420It would be less embarrassing if he wore those clothes during the right season. Nobody wears a three piece suit AND an overcoat when it's not winter. It clearly doesn't seem like it's winter where he is, going by the guy dressed in just a polo shirt and jeans. That's why it looks like a larpy costume. If he wore that in December, nobody would have cared as much. Dress according to your environment and climate if you don't want to look like a cosplaying retard.https://youtu.be/n_t9RGUGfQ4?t=12
>>18563424>turtleneck under a button shirtNigga...
>>18563420What’s the point of a tie bar if you’re wearing a waistcoat? The problem is he’s overdoing it
>>18564235You shouldn't rely on a vest to stabilize a necktie. It's like asking about shirt stays when you're wearing pants. If you move around enough, things will shift out of line or ride up. Wearing a tie bar that high up is basically jewelry. You can make the argument that it prevents the metal from wearing down the lining, but it's still jewelry.
>>18563424Andrew Tate type fit
>>18563424Yeah, puffy turtleneck tucked in? With a half buttoned flannel on top where the neck doesn't lay right because there is an inch of fabric around the neck. Looks awful.
>>18564208It's a turtleneck sweater under a thin wool jacket under a leather jacket. The it's something you'd put on for a photo shoot but would be far to bulky to wear IRL.Unless that's just a bibbed wool collar though most don't go so far down on the chest.
>>18563420the thing with that kind of oufit is that you dont look nice, you look like a cosplayer, if you dont have all the things that could complement the image you are trying to show, like a car, a mansion, your attitude, money, etc, then you are a cosplayer, you dont look good portraying an early XX century british guy if you arent one.
>>18564193if you dont owe a vulgar ammount of money and have a lot of power, you would look like a fucking idiot if you dress like your pic, you cant wear that and live on a small flat or a regular houose made of cheap wood, you gotta have a boat, eat lobster and have a fucking jet
>>18566870Imagine thinking only rich people should get to wear suits. Why are peasants such sniveling slaves who worship the rich and demean themselves? Those are clothes, not a uniform of rich people. Stop being a pathetic bootlicker of the rich and wear what you want.
>>18566885That's almost 100 years ago
>>18566925And? Did rich people pass a law banning you from wearing suits? Rich people today wear hoodies, sweatpants and sneakers. Will you stop wearing those because you don't have a mansion, Rolls Royce, and yachts?
>>18566947So your point is that Rich and Poor have always dressed alike? I shall keep dressing according to the current standards.
>>18566947those are expensive sneakers hoodie and pants
>>18566988Yes. You're not living in the medieval times. Suits aren't medieval clothes. They were invented in modern times in the late 1800s and worn by everyone. Suits were a gentleman's outfit, not a rich fuck's outfit. Men wore suits because they wanted to look proper and presentable, not because they were millionaires. The different between rich and poor people's suits was the quality of the material and tailoring. Suits themselves weren't restricted to any class.Suits started being perceived as "rich people" clothes only in the last couple of decades because NPC retards stopped wearing them in the name of looking more "casual" and "keepin' it real". Meanwhile, rich people continued wearing them. So now the unwashed proles think suits are for the rich and sweatpants and hoodies are for the masses. These days they'll think you're acting like a fancy rich fuck even if you wear trousers and a button up shirt.https://youtu.be/ePH--widhXk?t=16
>>18566995>These days they'll think you're acting like a fancy rich fuck even if you wear trousers and a button up shirt.what about if you have a shaved head and facial hair?
>>18566995Not the guy you were responding to, but to add to your point my own thoughts:>Men wore suits because they wanted to look proper and presentableThis is the key part. Everything about the suit is about order and rationality. The clean white shirt, the sharp crease in the trousers, the perfectly polished shoes, the combed and clean shaven face (it's the best look to pair with a suit). All of these things take effort to maintain, you literally cannot wear a suit (or atleast wear it and look decent) if you are a slob. Wearing a suit shouts to the world that you are in control of your life.Any style can be made to require effort to maintain, that alone doesn't make it admirable. The suit's overall aesthetic is that of seriousness. It exists as a direct rejection of gold embroidered silk and debauchery of the French court. Its lines are clean, its details minimal, its colours subdued. It is austere. A man in the street in a suit, you do not expect them to rob you, you expect manners. It is the clothing of the thoughtful man who takes pride in his intellect and capacity for virtue. To reject the suit is to reject all things that are good and traditional in society.
>>18566885Middle class people stopped wearing suits when a decent suit started costing a week's worth of pay.
>>18566885Looks dusty and grampy. Get into #oldmoney instead.
>>18567047Wrong, suits have only gotten less expensive over time, not more expensive.
>>18566869>you look like a cosplayerLike there's a single reason to believe that guy isn't intentionally cosplaying a Peaky Blinder.
>>18567048>old money>cowboy western denim shirtPick one you larping faggots.
>>18563420>>18567086
>>18567103You sound like you don't had sex today-
>>18567132You sound like you had gay sex today.
>>18567134Sorry my man, my GF has a vagina, sounds hetero to me.
With #Oldmoney you pull p(b)ussy
>>18563849You obviously don't live in an old money state that has cold winters.
Looks like he's acting a period piece.Either way doesn't matter.Guy laughing at him is your typical Gen X yuppie dipshit that thinks peak culture is his fake Rolex, shitty polo and knock off shoes.>>18563849You clearly don't come from money or class.
>>18567208Gen X don't get enough hate for how much they destroyed western culture by pushing casualization of everything. Boomers had hippies but they still maintained some class even in the 70s. These fuckers on the other hand pushed for complete slobish degeneracy in the name of being edgy.
>>18567178...as you post something from the 1960sThis is a picture of people in Maine, the richest state in the US. It's very likely that everyone here is old money. The truth is that the whole old money fashion thing hasn't existed in reality since the 1960s round about.Today old money people do not think about fashion in the slightest, and that doesn't mean they seek out subtle but high quality clothes, no, they simply don't think about fashion at all, they buy random tshirts and cargo shorts that are sold at the first store they happen to stop by.They have no taste for clothes because it has never been a meaningful part of their life. They cannot tell the difference between polyester and natural fibers, they have no eye for proper fit. Just as they no longer retain any of the other old money traits such as being well read, well mannered, cultured etc, they also do not dress well anymore.
>>18567178>>18567302This is a photo of Prince William, a high ranking member of the British royal family, quite possibly the most old money you can possibly get.... here he is wearing a cheap blue suit to a funeral
>>18567048Honest question. Where is his penis, is it in the leg of the pants?
>>18567305how do you know it's cheap?
>>18567302"Old money" in Maine tend to wear plaid, Patagonia, and hang out around the Cape or in their summer homes elsewhere (Florida, Cali, etc.)That said, I like the "old money" fits here... but I'm poor af, not effay.
I'm a NEET and sometimes I wear a suit for fun. I've noticed people treat me a lot better when I'm wearing a suit. I just go to the city and walk around and have lunch at nice restaurant and maybe stop at a bar for a beer. I want to buy a suit with a medium gorge lapel (I don't like high gorges like on my jacket) but they're so hard to find now. Every suit that doesn't cost a lot is either high gorge or has really thin lapels.
>>18567305 >>18567380 This is at Bobby Charlton's funeral. Navy and black tie is a respectful choice for a non-Catholic. This suit is Spencer Hart. Not my taste but not cheap. Thankfully he wears Thom Sweeney nowadays. But you're right, when not at events or hunting, British old money pensioners dress like shit. Jogging bottoms and trainers.
>>18566995>Suits were a gentleman's outfit, not a rich fuck's outfitA gentleman is a rich fuck. To act like a gentleman has always meant to behave in a way consistent with what's expected of the landed gentry. That includes dress. Suits are just a level of formality that the general population doesn't want to wear. It's not going mainstream again any time soon. You will look like a cosplayer if you wear anything above a two piece suit in a pedestrian cloth. The same way you wouldn't wear a monocle or top hat and expect not to look like a cosplayer. In fact, any hat that isn't a beanie or a baseball cap looks like cosplay nowadays. Sad but true. There's no inherent virtue in wearing a suit. It's not objectively better than modern clothing styles. It's all preference, and most people prefer modern cuts and trends instead of LARPing as a '60s advertising exec.
>>18566885People didn't like dressing like that just because. Others would judge you for it and call you out if you didn't have those kinds of clothes on, and that meant most people only owned a few pieces of clothing. Shit sucked.
>>18567503based. a lot of rich aristocrats were basically neets
>>18567674A rich fuck may be a gentlemen, but a gentlemen need not be a rich fuck, nor a rich fuck be a gentlemen.
>>18567503actually looks like a proper suit, like a politician, well done anon
>>18567716no, they were not, you fucking retard.they had actual income from many different areas.
>>18567944You're an ESL. I can tell because you don't know when to use the singular gentleman vs the plural gentlemen. You don't have a grounding in Anglo culture, which is why it's understandable that you've fallen for the modern cosplayer/YouTuber/blogger lie that a gentleman is any man who wears the proper uniform, obeys certain rules of etiquette, and has certain hobbies. That's a cope third worlders spout so they don't feel like LARPers. A gentleman must be wealthy enough to sustain himself without the need for work. Land, stocks and shares, trusts, old money family, etc. A plumber cannot be a gentleman. If you HAVE to work to live, you aren't a gentleman. You can act like one, but you're not.
>>18566885None of these people are wearing suita.
>>18567503Where is that suit from?
>>18568075>>18567674all these rich traditions came from when rich noble aristocrats used to serve in high ranking positions in the military.
>>18567456>>18567302in florida, just wear a polo with khakis and loafers and call it a day
>>18568668all these rich traditions came from when rich noble aristocrats used to serve in high ranking positions in the military/leading the military in war
>>18567503whered you buy suit?
>>18568063Having income doesn't mean you're not a NEET, sweatie. Nobles never worked a single day in their lives. They were pretty much living off of gibs they received from their ancestral lands/properties, businesses, and also taxes. And they had people to handle those things, while they themselves indulged in hobbies and debauchery. They were the original trust fund babies.
>>18567503Pull your pants up you nigger. You don't wear low rise saggy nigger pants with a suit. The waist band of your pants should be closer to the top button of your suit jacket, not below the second button.
>>18568693lol
>>18568697That's at your ribs. You imbeciles do realize that your pants' waist band is called that because it's supposed to be worn at your waist, right? Do you even know where your waist is? Are "men" these days so negrified and subhuman that they don't even know how to wear pants anymore?
>>18567048pants pulled this high looks weird ngl
>>18568720those arent my ribs i just edited it in paint to show how ridiculous your point was
>>18568792Your pants are at your ribs. High rise pants aren't worn at the ribs. You niggers neither understand where pants are worn, nor basic anatomy.
>>18568796no i mean theyre not my pants thats not my photo lol
>>18568828I know. I'm treating you as the fag in your shopped photo wearing those pants.
>>18568839the pants in the photos youve posted go up to the belly buttonit looks ridiculous
>>18568840>it looks ridiculousBecause you're a nigger brained golem. Normal people wear pants at their waist.
>>18568844you dont even wear pants at your waist bro
>>18568853And where do you wear it?
>>18567716I have enough money to live like an aristocrat but my family are working class. I buy and sell stocks and cryptos to make some passive income and I'm pretty good at it. But not good enough to make enough money to pay rent or mortgage (maybe I could if I tried harder though).>>18567978Thanks anon. I did look to politicians for inspo before I bought it.>>18568615>>18568676Don't wanna dox myself and I would if I was saying where it was from. But it's not some expensive brand, everything together including shoes cost me around $1500.>>18568693I would but I have a bit of a belly. You can't really see it in the pic but it's the reason I wear my pants a bit lower. But I think it looks fine, and the angle of the photo probably makes it look worse than what it is. I really need to lose weight.
>>18568869You can't even if you want to because you're wearing low rise pants. Get high rise pants in your actual waist size. If Churchill could wear them, then so can you.
>>18568693>>18568720>>18568844>>18568882>born in le wrong generationYou look like a frumpy public broadcast TV preacher.
>>18569110Most zoomers wear high rise pants now thanks the the 70-90s and Y2K revival, and influencers like Edgy Albert. Aging millennials are the only people who still sag their pants like niggers and faggots.
>>18569127>High rise pants>Y2K revival???also, what kind of zoomers are you talking about? I haven't seen a well dressed zoomer in a while.Generally, I haven't seen a zoomer in a while
>>18563420
>>18567674Brutal but honest. Listen to this anon.
>>18567674The industrial revolution changed this.In the past, your clothes were a hard status symbol. If you were not of a certain nobility, you could not wear certain clothes, not that you had any money to buy them anyway. But the industrial revolution led to a massive increase in social mobility. Suddenly anyone and everyone had the ability to go from the bottom to the top, and thus the middle class emerged.People were no longer peasants rolling around in the dirt, they were working in factories and offices. They could wear better clothes, and they could all become gentlemen. the landed grentry disappeared and everyone could be classy if they wanted to. This is where the strict Victorian standards of behaviour came from, it was from people who barely a few generations ago were farmers but were now moving up in the world. We have since given up on this and are moving downwards. Within a few generations we will all be wearing dirty rags again if we don't regain our dignity and start wearing suits
>>18569127>Most zoomers wear high rise pants nowThey wear their own take on high rise trousers, anon. They shop at Uniqlo, Cos, Zara, or some They have no interest in dressing like Churchill or British Royalty or Ivy kids.
>>18569270The Victorian era was a stifling shithole, and you'd have to be retarded to want to go back to that kind of society. A suit isn't necessary for a man to look great. A suit doesn't signify any moral character or dignity. It's literally just an outfit.
