FUCK POLYESTER
Why the FUCK would i want to wear plastic?
FUCK blended fabrics
FUCK nylon, acrylic, spandex, rayon, and ESPECIALLY fuck FLEECE
TOTAL SPANDEX DEATH
TOTAL FLEECE DEATH
WE MUST SECURE AN EXISTENCE AND FUTURE FOR COTTON, WOOL, AND LINEN
>>
buy fabric, make your own clothes, win. There are very good 100% natural fibre fabrics available in the hobby sector

I like my peter millar golf polos and rlx golf polos tho

I have been genuinely looking into this and might do it. Im not great at sewing but who care. which stores specifically can i get cotton, or maybe even wool by the square foot?

I agree, but I have this 100% synthetic long sleeve shirt from Uniqlo that I really like and want to continue wearing.
>>
all my clothes are thrifted natural fibers. The amount of never-worn high quality brand name stuff people buy and then give away is insane if you live in a rich area.

Like what? I live in rich area tooo.

You also want to continue jerking off to tranny porn, but that's not a healthy habit either. Stop it. Get some help. Say no to plastic slop. A man without principles is worse than an animal.
>>
What's wrong with fleece?
>>
>>18564123
I can tell you more about European stores, or UK
>>
>>18564113
I find it ok in some outerwear, for anything in contact with the skin it's a disgrace though

>I don't practice any sport nor engage in any amount of physical activity where I would benefit from wearing technical pieces for their moisture wicking, lightness breathability or stretch properties
Color me shocked.
>>
>abstains from technical fabrics

>>

>by the square foot?
You don't buy fabrics by square foot, you buy them but running meter or yard, where the width is set by the mill and price is per a meter of that width.
Leather you buy by square decimeters, the whole animal or half of it with an estimate of square decimeter.

>calls smelly plastic "technical"
>>
>>18564323
Not OP but I lift in old cotton t shirts and shorts. I hike and camp with wool clothes and leather boots. FUCK polyester FUCK nylon, I'd rather make my life difficult than wear plastic trash
>>
>>18564323
People have been playing sports in cotton and wool clothes for decades. That pic is from a cricket test match which goes on for 5 straight days for nearly 10 hours per day under hot sun. So STFU about your "technical" plastic slop. Nobody needs it.
>>
>>18564401
Shit argument. People have wiped their asses with their hands for a hundred thousand years, doesn't make toilet paper useless.

Your shitty plastic slop makes people smell like literal shit. That's reason enough to flush it down the shitter. And no, "muh moisture wicking" is marginally better in plastic clothes than with cotton. It's not that much of an advantage. And regular people absolutely don't need "muh moisture wicking" clothes everyday. Just stop being an unfit fatfuck who sweats like a pig just from breathing.
>>
>>18564383
you take it off after you're done with your physical activity
or would you rather do it in a completely soaked through cotton shirt? no, you do that in winter and you fucking die from hypothermia dumbass
>>
i wear a cotton shirt and cotton drawers when i workout, but im not wearing cotton shorts, what the fuck. i'll just use swishy nike shorts for the 45-60 minutes i need them, lol.

and why wouldnt i want synthetics for hardwearing outerwear? i like when rain just slicks right off a plastic shell. thats cool. yes i know you can wax stuff but sometimes you dont want to look all barbour jackety.
>>
>>18564113
merino wool that is washable usually has plastics btw not required to be listed on label
>>
>>18564465
Plastic is fine for outerwear for rain and snow since it's not touching your skin for the most part.
>>
>>18564197
Well, yeah, but I can't just throw it out. I'm just going to be more mindful of the material composition of the clothing I buy going forward.
>>
>>18564466
Pure merino on base layers rips easily anyway. They are the most comfortable shit ever in cold weather but I've lost count of shirts and thermal leggings that got holes in them after a year or less if I do anything more strenuous than walk around town with them. Doesn't matter if it's from Icebreaker or smaller brands.
>>
Polyester has unironically become underrated now
People don't seem to realize polyester shirts can have amazing drape and never fade

Plastic clothes aka polyster turns into microplastics dust every second and falls apart after washes. Plastic clothes are second only to car tires as a source of microplastics in the oceans. and you call that durable? performance, yes perhaps that is can be argued that it does better performance. However, personally i am willing to sacrifice a small increase in performance by NOT wearing gasoline. fuck your gasoline clothes bro. you don't have to be autistic to not fuck with polyester.
>>
>>18564113
i'm sorry you're too poor to have experienced good synthetics
there are good and bad plastics
there are good and bad cotton/wool/linens (esp the latter two)
plastic bad is such a clueless take
>>
>>18565102
The worst, itchiest, roughest wool shirt is millions of times better than the best plasticlothes. Plastic is unironically terrible.
>>
>>18565099
>you call that durable
Bro 88% wool 12% spandex is comfortable and soft
Fuck the ocean yn
>>
>>18565390
If there was a beautiful cake and the chef said he put a teaspoon of cow feces in the batter before cooking, would you eat it?
>>
I am careful with synth fiber. I do not outright condemn it but when I see that there is some in the garment I fancy I think twice and even three times whether I actually want to have it
>>
>>18565534
Based careful considerer
>>
So how strict are the labelling requirements for garment tags? Does "100% cotton" actually mean it is 100% made out of cotton? And who's checking to see if they're lying?
>>
>>18565503
Cow feces doesn’t elevate the flavour of buttercream, so no.
>>
>>18565573
There's plenty of stuff that can legally end up in the finished product, if it's deemed necessary for production, even in a highly regulated place like the EU.
Don't trust the label, find manufacturers you can trust.
>>
>>18564113
See how good you feel in -30 with cotton and wool lol. If you don't want to walk around in an animal hide like a freak then synthetics are superior to every natural fiber.
>>
>>18565962
The most mentally disabled and retarded mongolian walking around wrapped in yak skin completely mogs the smartest metrosexual polyasster arcteryx wearer
>>
>>18565390
Nigger, what the fuck do you need spandex in wool for? Just don't be a degenerate fatfuck and stop wearing skintight clothes.
>>
>>18565979
To subsidize my plastic company.
>>
>>18565099
I've been phasing plastic clothing out of my wardrobe for the past few years. All that is left are several pairs of cotton/spandex blended pants and a few synthetic outerwear items.

Nah, tag says 100% merino wool.
They wouldn't lie.
>>
>>18564694
They aren't flammable, natural fabrics are flammable and will burn up without harming you much.
Polyester will melt into your skin.
>>
>>18565962
I wear linen in winter, boy. Force your body to heat itself
>>
>>18564388
You either dont hike or dont do any serious hiking lol
>>
>>18565573
the label doesn't include the thread just the face fabric. virtually all garments made since like the 1950s use polyester thread. if your clothes are sewn with cotton thread trust me you'll know its generally more expensive, advertised and makes the clothes fall apart fast.

>>18565390
its just making cheaper wool feel a bit nicer in exchange for the lifespan of the garment and the ability to ever re-shape it which is one of the best benefits of wool knits to begin with.

>>18565103
wool is a garbage material for anything close-fitting to the skin like a tee shirt/undershirt.

>>18564689
blends are not great for durability. blending two fibers together of any kind means its going to pill.

>>18564681
cheap polyester gave it a bad name. vintage shit is much nicer.

learn how to darn holes in your leggings. if you're going to wear a basically disposable garment made out of superwashed wool that can't ever be recycled you may as well have it last longer than a year.
t.also wears icebreaker baselayers
>>
>>18564694
how often do you let your shirts catch fire????? this is such a meaningless concern
>>
>>18566700
flammable pants is a legitimate concern for potheads. one of my friends burned his scrotum decently bad from dropping a cherried bowl on his crotch in thin nylon hiking pants that melted into napalm.
>>
>>18566652
Highest elevation I've ever been at is 3600m, longest continuous hike is 12 hours, and longest hike in general 9 days. Might not be serious according to your arbitrary standards but sure as fuck beats almost anyone you'll come across in your daily life.
>>
>>18566652
the synthetics spergery and cotton kills thing is really overblown in the outdoors scene. cotton and polycotton and nylon cotton blends are insanely underrated but pretty much the best fabrics to hike in warm or warm humid weather in especially jungles. summer exists, you know a whole season where even up north you won't get hypothermia if you fall asleep cowboy camping style under the stars in a wet shirt. having a shirt that actually absorbs and evaporates sweat particles instead of creating a film of sweat and dead skin cells between your back and backpack like polyester does is kind of nice.
its really only winter and cold rainy weather you have to worry about with cotton. particularly how cold it gets overnight. even living in the rainiest part of the united states with a pretty short summer i hike in cotton plenty. i'm not gonna jack myself off but i live by the cascades and do some pretty intense stuff.
>>
>>18566704
>for potheads
So not a problem for most people, gotcha. Tell us when line cooks wearing 65/35 poly/cotton uniforms and aprons start burning to death en masse from standing in front of an open flame all day.
