not from a $$$ objective standpoint, what i mean is are they *actually* top tier pants or what? As in, will I be appropriately wow’d to see/feel/wear them in person? They remind me of kitchen chef pants which are unbelievably comfortable.
You will never find a more satisfying garment ever. Don’t think just press buy now : )
>>18565078>$1045 pants>Will dey bee betterer?Lmao
>>18565127For the record the answer is "They will be a bit better but at that price they aren't worth it."
>>18565078I regularly go into high end boutiques to handle and try on men's clothes. Margiela is one that is typically a pleasure in general. It is very difficult to get relatively lightweight menswear that also feels expensive and comfortable to wear. Brands like McQueen and Balenciaga often have to resort to making very heavy garments in order for them to feel their quality is sufficient to differentiate them from cheaper high street brands. Margiela is one of the few that can do it. Will they last a long time? Most likely not. If you make lightweight garments in any material except for perhaps polyester, they will degrade faster than heavier garments; which is just simple physics. Margiela to me is for wealthy people who want to feel good and look affluent. If you cannot afford to buy a couple outfits a season from them, it is probably not worth it. You will get longer lasting clothes from other designers or even cheap brands by searching long enough.
>>18565078LMAO that's 100% cotton, not silk. What kind of stupid fucks would pay over a 1000 dollars for cotton pajamas?
>>18565133thanks and nice numbers anon. very helpful
>>18565133feel free to post any more info about good brands up there with margiela to check out btw
>>18565497There are brands that are pretty consistent each collection, like Margiela, but there are some that have a lot of hits one season and the next it's all absolute turds. I can tell you which brands are consistently bad at least the last few years. The first is Yohji Yamamoto and it's Y's diffusion. The clothing is very poorly made from very mid materials. Which is a real disappointment because when Yohji went bankrupt, the company was eventually purchased by the fabric mill that made his wools and cottons. The clothes should feel amazing but they honestly cut corners the most out of any designer brand. I guess because they can control the materials with a vertically integrated supply chain, they use that method to squeeze margins. While other brands like Dries or Margiela can work with whichever good deals they can get from suppliers to pick the nicest fabrics for their collections. Rick Owens is very hit or miss. Some collections recently had only a handful of really quality pieces and the rest was worse than something you'd find in Taobao. The other releases, like the current collection, while consisting of many old designs, do feel quite nice and made from proper materials again. There are very few brands that are just consistently great when you handle them. I really do not care for ACNE's design language or products at all but in general their clothes do feel pretty well made and nice on average. Not near Margiela, but at least they feel designer. Bottega Veneta is really out of the price range of normal clothing, even for designer clothes, imo, because they are a luxury marque, but for what it's worth, the clothes really are very nice, men's and women's. But we are talking $5kUSD+ for outerwear that is often just cotton here.
>>18565078The “human” in picrel is getting paid an above-livable, if not overly generous wage while he looks like a pale, emaciated, wet sewer rat. How do I become a fucking model and take advantage of my natural beauty and make money off it.>inb4 BUT YOU DONT LOOK GOOD NO ONE ON 4CHAN LOOKS GOODYeah I’ve heard it all before idgaf bro
Margiela is high quality but that price is way too much. I have a few pairs of these drawstring trouser pants but mine are all a blend of silk and other stuff and not 100% cotton. Of course I didn't pay full price for them, I usually get them around $200-300 during sale season.
>>18566059thank you for the knowledge. i assume mainline (yohji yamamoto, yohji yamamoto pour homme) quality and consistency is good? >>18566059there was this one tiktoker who would make parody skits on being a fashion model, can't remember his name. anyway he would mention kissing men a lot in his skits. obviously the videos are shitposts but hey you never know... maybe try kissing photographers to score those gigs?
>>18566039ty
>>18566059the sickly models trend was started by some nepo baby girl who sex trafficked women for epstein. they "recruit" underage homeless teens to be "models" and some of them do indeed become models but its mostly just a sex trafficking front.
>>18565078lol Margiela hasn't been worth paying retail for or even discounted since he left the brand. Go thrift actual Margiela pieces from the 00s instead.
>>18565078ID on the shoes?
>>18566676wtf bruh, those are just black gats
>>18566535>i assume mainline (yohji yamamoto, yohji yamamoto pour homme) quality and consistency is good?No it is really disappointingly bad.
