Does the company MerinoTech use superwash in their wool?
>>18565132all those gay merino tech brands like nexural use so much synthetics in them. avoid
>>18565134The company states they use 100% merino wool, no synthetic.
>>18565135and you believe them?
>>>/reddit/
>>18565141Fuck you, I've been ip range banned from reddit
>>18565132this brand claims they use non-superwash wool https://bygreencotton.com/collections/wool-men
>>18565142What for?
>>18565144You know why
>>18565135I actually bought a nexural merino top because of shoebertt and the thing was a piece of shit. you could tell how much poly and spandex was in it. a cheap hiking brand merino top would have been the same for a lot less. don't be fooled
>>18565134>>18565151What is a nexural? The post is talking about the brand Merino Tech

>>18565158Suck thine mother, I've earned $640 from mocrosoft rewards
>>18565132Superwash wool is better, you don't have to worry about it getting ruined from washing
>>18565160No
>>18565156>>18565157because it uses the fabric and its the same kind of thing.
>>18565165Really, it's on you if you trusted a German company
>>18565163>>18565166>>18565156
>>18565132If they don't specify it, then yes, it's SuperWash™. But even companies that claim to not use it (i.e. Dilling) use some kind of chemical process to make wool less woolly. Wool is simply not meant to be worn tight on sensitive skin.
>>18565156>non-mulessedno thanks i prefer my wool molested
>>18565132of course, if it isnt advertised as one of the non chlorine/plastic impregnation processes it 99.9999% is >>18565207dillings literally uses plasma wash and they heavily advertise it on every single item page why do you give input when you dont know what youre talking about
>>18565143they use xcare which the company description of suspiciously doesnt mention they dont add plastic to it. dillings specifically uses plasma wash and specifically says they dont add plastic.i just started posting here and it amazes me how little useful input 85-90% of posters here add. i got one good reply in my thread on margiela pants with the rest being seething poors trying to be abusive. aside from that the stupid racism (the thread on the black guy is so stupid) and constant posting aboht Indians. bunch of chuds
>>18565735you misunderstand what plasma superwash is. superwash = the process of smoothing out the wool fibers. plasma superwash is when they burn the scales of the wool off with plasma. chemical superwash is when they fill the voids with hercosett-125 resin. hercosett-125 is what they line paper plates and such with.the plasma superwash stuff is the best of both worlds between virgin and superwash wool where its softer and machine washable but no chemicals were added and no plastic/resin is involved. source: https://www.naturetexxplasma.com/>lanolinpretty much all wool has its lanolin stripped by the time you reach the final garment. virgin wool rarely has any lanolin and it can be added back if you really want.
>>18565747>The product is X-CARE ® and Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified>which ensures:>- No harmful chemicals>- No superwash>- No mulesing or sheep dip>- No cruel animal transportthey're virgin wool. dillings is plasma treated wool. i would say dillings is better too (do they sell leggings?) but they're different options.
>>18565755the hercosett resin is the plastic people want to avoid though dillings specifically says the plasma method they use doesnt add resins as the plasma treatment accomplishes what the chlorine wash + herco input does >>18565759dillings makes leggings
does anyone know where i can get plasma superwash or non superwash long johns or leggings in the united states? Bonus points:mesh knit combo like picrelhas a fly
>>18565759the xcare description doesnt make it clear if they are adding resins or not plasma specifically negates the need for it so there isnt a question if they do, because they dont have to because plasma achieves the intended effect that chlorine + herco does also the fact the herco is similar to parchment paper doesnt mean anything to potential plastic avoiders. if u search on the appropriate subs like granolamoms youll see people are even concerned about parchment paper resins
>>18565770plasma isnt superwash superwash is the industry name for what you are trying to avoid im not even sure me calling it plasma “wash” is correct, probably better to call it plasma treated they use electricity
is non merino wool also treated with this zog plastic or what? like a $3400 burberry blanket sounds worthless if it is
>>18565776some is some isnt depends on what type of wool>$3400 blanket overpricedno shit get a pendleton or something
>>18565777annoying to have to research it directlyalso dillings uses EXP on wool/silk blends which may or may not include resin coating. even they arent clear. their plasma 100% wool doesnt though
>>18565777witnessed btw
>>18565132>>18565156To answer your question directly OP, in light of the knowledge of this thread, I can confidently say that MerinoTech does use superwash in their wool and that it is full of polyester. For one thing, on their website they state that their clothes are machine washable and they don't say anything about deliberately avoiding superwash. But for a more subjective test, I can tell you that I own a MerinoTech tank top and that it smelled like absolute SHIT when I worked out in it for the first time. I barely even broke a sweat before I started smelling like a dead dog. I tried wearing it a second time after washing it in some Dr. Bronner's but it is still unusable, now if I wear it I smell like dead dog covered in peppermint. I'm glad I visited this thread, because otherwise I would not have learned about Dillings, which will be my next merino wool shirt purchase, shout out to this anon >>18565735. If somehow this thread is still up by the time I receive it, then I will post my experience with Dillings.
>>18565132>>18566029I own 2 pairs of merino tech underwear and after I take them off after gym and hang them up, they just smell like wet wool. Perhaps they do somebody different for their shirts.
>>18565132pretty much all wool is superwashed
>>18566046Say it ain't so.
>>18565735>plasma washsure bro, enzymes are not chemicals by any means
>>18566260reddit tier response
>>18566485The fuck is a ddit?
>>18566063yup, it's true>>18565132if they dont state it it's superwash, very rare for a company to go out of their way to do something different like that and not advertise it
I had 3 Dillings boxers that I rotated between, all of them disintegrated in 6 months.
>>18566718yah merino wool is not very strong at all
>>18566718My merino tech underwear is 2 years and still flawless
>>18566837Does it get stinky?
