first for MIDO
Have you guys ever seen the r/WatchesIndia subreddit? It's the fastest possible way to get the ick for a particular watch, finding out you have the same taste as them.

THE chart
>>18567095It seems like they just copy western sentiments, the watches look comically large on their wrists.
>>18567095
>>18567129yup, seems accurate
I wear a Garmin Instinct 2. It tracks my heartrate, sleeping, stress, breathing and pulse ox. Workout cycles for running, swimming, cycling, climbing, lifting, HIIT. Barometer, altometer, compass and gyroscope for hiking. GPS access to GLONASS and Galileo. Smart notifications, 3 week battery life, water resistant to 100m. Built to a military standard. If you wear a watch for anything other than function you're a huge faggot.
>>18567079Ahh yes, the "driving watch", for when you're in the car and your car's clock is set incorrectly.
>Tilted dial editionbased
>>18567189It's a pilot's watch. And it made sense as a redundancy for an instrument failure.
>>18567189Don't shit yourself in shock at hearing this, but cars didn't always have clocks in them.
Yeah, I'm thinking kino
untilted bros.... Our response?
>"what if panerai but really, REALLY bad?"
what do you guys think about pic related. i tried it on and liked it. maybe a tad too large for my wrist, but i think it works because of the rugged design
Let's forget about the Nautilus for a second because obviously Patek's reputation wasn't built on something designed in the 1970s.What is the deal with Patek Philippe? All of their dress watches are hideous, and then they have a bunch of ugly pseudo-pilot watches, some with complications that easily retail for more than 100k. What am I not getting? All their dials, numerals, and complications are ugly, AND their finishing is machine-applied, which is like the same level as Grand Seiko. They don't compete movement-wise with the Glashutte brands or even Swiss Independents, yet they are so constantly hyped. Is it just pure branding or am I missing some overlooked recently discontinued amazing watches?
>>1856727730 minute chrono is a useless complication.
The Cubitus, really, is a test. It's here to check your design litteracy. To a simpleton, it's just a big ugly square that kinda looks like a Nautilus (the only Patek he knows). To the horologically educated, the multireferencial intertext of the watch is overwhelming and yet another proof of the genevoise maison. The curvature of the vertical edges is alchemical on several layers (squared circle, transformative Work of a prime element into its sublimized form and elevation, mutual acclimatation of opposites further seen in metal textures, the list could go on) ; the sizing is strict numerology (45 rpm, another circular reference ; hexagonal number pointing to the elegance in the simplicity of the square compared to the OTHER geometric watch with hexagons ; 45 in the enneagram points to the strength of individuality that will generate envy among those on the outside [non-owners])
>>18567173 When I look at my watch, I see a beautiful work of art and craftsmanship. When you look at your watch, you see an excel sheet showing your stress level.
>>18567300I've had my two watches since 2016, almost 10 years. When I look at them I also see all the fond memories and things I've overcome in that time. Also my best friend has the same model as one of them, we bought them together. A watch and a wedding band are the only jewelry I wear and the sentimentality of it is more important than anything. Sincerity and sentimentality are the only weapons us zoomzooms have to fight against cynicism of older generations.
>>18567095It's a gold mine!
>>18567173Do you enjoy seeing a Teams message from your boss and the corresponding jump in heartrate whenever you check the time?
>>18567306>Also my best friend has the same model as one of them, we bought them together. A watch and a wedding band are the only jewelry I wear and the sentimentality of it is more important than anything.do you have gooning sesh with him sometimes?
>>18567320What is the best gooning watch?
>>18567095>r/WatchesIndia subredditI browsed the whole first page and no watch i own is there. Also, they seem to be heavily on Seiko (so i'll avoid that), dress watches and anything "white people" coded. The fact that they want to be successful white engineers from the 1990s really shows in their watch choices, and at last it's better than ghetto culture.
>>18567323Apple watch, so you can check your heartbeat and get all your gooning stats.

Swatch Group's numbers aren't looking so good...
>>18567481...cause manufacturing in Switzerland is way too expensive.
R8 the collection.
>>18567481>>18567482>manufacturing in Switzerland is way too expensiveSwiss made in China now too expensive?Maybe they need to change the law to allow watches assembled in China to be marketed as "Swiss made" as long as they are imported to Switzerland first.
>>18567506Is it normal for the gold on a Rolex to rub off?
Looking for a watch that signals status to barely-in-the-know watch plebs and taste to watch enthusiasts. Preferrably something more sporty. What should I look at? Budget is 5-15k USD. I could go a bit over budget if I really loved the watch.
>>18567507don't give them ideas
>>18567515probably a Rolex or like a Santos?
>>18567535>shartosJust go for Rolex.
gift for little bro
>>18567515Cartier
>>18567116kek you're not kidding
>>18567506oof, that's quite a collection, anon
>>18567515maybe a Lange if you want to spend more. it would mogg more entry level luxury watches like barebones Rolex models and steel Cartiers
i bought this today, is it good? i'm a t/o/urist sry
>>18567631How much did you pay and where? It's fine, you probably won't run into anyone else wearing it in the wild
such /clocks/ that will not cost me an entire paycheck?
>>18567590price?
>>18567590>phone watermarkI thought only seanigs did this.
>>18567644~$200, it's a Seiko SNKA01K1Just wanted something silver, white face, not too gaudy, not too big or too smallIts a weekend and i've only worn it a couple times around the house but i already feel more confident with in on lol. its growing on me.
>>18567651
>>18567631It's a safe choice but also a good one in my opinion. The downside is once again the bracelet which is going to be bad on anything Seiko below 1000$I like the long markers on yours.
>>18567665could have had a quartz seiko with a nice bracelet for that money instead of ugly shitter on a bad bracelet
>>18567689 Oh. what's wrong with the bracelet
should i cop the two tone APeezy?
Tried a 5 digit and 6 digit super case sub today, and was genuinely underwhelmed. After owning seamasters and even seiko divers, the rolex didn't really feel special on the wrist. They were both very nice watches and the super case had the nicest bezel action I've seen, but otherwise they were fine? The hour hand really disappears into the 4 lines of text at the 6'oclock, and the Cyclops is kinda ugly irl. Shame coz I wanted a 5 digit sub to put on a bond nato and larp too.
>>18567710Fuck me man I really want something iced out and I’m not even black/listen to rap music something just comes over me seeing gold and diamonds
>>18567758Yeah, this is the true Rolex experience. The only way they can actually get your money is if it's your first exposure to a decent watch. If you already own an Omega, JLC, or even a nice Japanese watch, then Rolex won't make the cut.
>>18567710>>18567777Same here bro. You can't tell me an iced out watch doesn't increase your confidence or fulfill your carnal desires
>>18567780If they sold for what they were worth, around the price of a same era smp300 plus maybe a little extra for the flagship status I'd get one, but as it stands yeah the clout chasers can have them. I can't think of a single rolex I want, new or old and I'm trying. Daytona is borderline unreadable, gmt is nice but I don't need or want a gmt, Explorer 2 is a cope gmt, datejust is nice but similarly overpriced. The only watch that's remotely interesting is the Explorer 36. Bonus points for being able to wear it without people noticing it's a rolex.
>>18567795I would get an Explorer 1 or 2 just because they're the best looking watches that say Rolex on the dial, but they just look so basic I'd rather get something like a Breitling or a Glycine.
>>18567795I really like the Rolex Air King 5500, I even went to Japan and found several for sale, but was blindsided by them being only 34mm. I just assumed they were 36. They have the rare Rolex aesthetics of the period before Rolex leaned into its own brand too much and started making their watches ugly on purpose to stand apart from others. Same reason Genta designs are so popular, they're for people that can't stand the idea of flying under the radar that must have something recognizable from across the room.
>>18567807I keep finding myself going back to the Explorer 114270 but I'll wait for prices to come down.>>18567813The name air king written on the dial kills that watch for me. I really just want to own a 31 series movement.
>>18567817The Mercedes hand and mix of indices and numerals kills the 114270 for me. Luckily omegalul exists.
>>18567234>watch looks like a smiley facenice
which one?i like 1st the most.wearing at work (security guard)open to suggestions for other silver digital watches
>>18567883The one with the more complications to flex on mechanical fags
>>18567108This is actually a very insightful and measured video from Teddy, he's right that nobody in the world cares about your watch and the one you wear should be something you can appreciate all on your own. A pleasant change from his usual crap.
>>18567890It's not a complication if you can just add it by flashing different firmware.
>>18567883If you can find a model with a proper illuminator rather than a shitty f91 corner light, you'll thank yourself
Kofe time.
>>18567919>worse contrast for eye burning night light

>>18567929This looks cool. There's lots going on but it's not cluttered or overwhelming. What's the 30s subdial for though?
Here's the life pro tip to solve all your watch problems: Buy fewer watches. >I can't afford my dream watch! You could if you stopped buying a cope watch every other week.>Mechanical isn't accurate>I need a watch winder>The power reserve is too low>I hate setting the date on my Vostok 3 watches max, you can set and wind them all every day, takes one minute.>but I need a watch for every occasionSteel case, 37mm, 50m WR, black dial. No complications. There's your watch for every occasion.Get a bracelet, a black leather strap, a brown leather strap and a colorful strap for it. It's that easy.>but my AD daddy won't sell the watch I want unless I buy 3 others firstGood, now you see how retarded that is.
>>18567956It's a 30 minute chronograph.
>>18567962>Steel case, 37mm, 100m WR, and a purple/black dial styled after a nether portal in Iwate Prefecture at dawn.
>>18567666Why are they like this? All of those comments had a reply from the brand with the price, what motivates the next man to post?
Heard that the action on those buttons is supposed to be Godlike
The copes are already here
>>18568024Those lugs hnnnngh
>>18567506You know what would be fun? Throw them against a concrete wall and see which one survives.
>>18567506Decent shitter collection. Some of the divers looks like a smaller diameter (?) which I like. I don't care for the square one and the light gold with milanese bracelet and the obe next to it.
>>18568092Looks better than the Rolex.
>>18568092>(((Keep up with global fashion)))
>>18567506The Seiko is nice, the rest, eh. I don't like the Seiko branded Rolexes, they're neither of those things, it really makes no sense. The rest is meh, normal shitters. I give 5 out of 8 shits, just because of the Seiko. I would give 3 otherwise.
>>18568171funny, because that is a rolex. same manufacturer anyways..
