How do I manage my different fashion interests into a uniform without looking like I’m autistic or un-genuine. >punk/post punk>workwear >beach core>prep>/k/amouflageEssentially my interests and personality are schizophrenic and all over the place and what I wear has been at the mercy of whatever medication I forgot to take that day.
Developing the taste to make decent fits with whatever weird clothing you have is a skill you just have to develop with time. It requires a combinated awareness of colour theory, shape, and just knowing what mood you are going for on any given day. The best advice I can give is to never wear the same outfit twice, if you can. It's totally cool to have staples in your wardrobe that you keep coming back to, in fact I think this helps inform you as to your actual character and the direction you would be best suited in taking your style in to the future.
To take this further, I think when it comes to fashion, people are far too preoccupied with trying to fit in to a pre-existing aesthetic, which is why their outfits come off as insincere. In reality there is a lot of play to be found in the areas between defined aesthetic categories, this is the place where true personality is actually communicated, becuase at the end of the day, they are YOUR clothes.
