There is an overwhelming amount of posts on the internet by people claiming that hardly anybody will notice you wear rolex. They never explain how they came up with that idea.Barely anybody commenting is what they experience and therefore conclude barely anyone noticed?
I never comment on people's appearance be it physical attributes, luxury cars, jewelry,... I imagine many people do the same. So how did they conclude so surely that nobody notices?
I bought a $300 Citizen Quartz diver and multiple women commented "nice watch, is that a Rolex?"
>>18577660I would never compliment a man's jewelry because that implies I care about his income. I will, however compliment you on a haircut, fitness, or any kind of thing that looks like you're taking care of myself. I will tell you that certain clothes make you look good, but I will not comment on luxury things. I think that's impolite. I will do this for women because they usually did not buy the jewelry they are wearing.
>>18577670They asked because they wanted to humiliate you. But either way it proves that people take note. If it had been a rolex they would not have asked
>>18577672No, anon. I have also been asked that seriously. I always answer that it's just a citizen because I break things often.
>>18577674>I have also been asked that seriouslyYou have been trolled
No one cares that you wear a roles, except gold diggers.
>>18577678Not caring does not equal not noticing
I think this topic reveals how dumb people are >implying everybody who notices, comments>implying everybody who comments, cares>implying everybody who cares, commentsEtc etc etc. You have no clue what people are thinking
>>18577677I think you may just live around a lot of shitty people, anon. The people that ask wouldn't know a Rolex if they saw one. You, however, are surrounded by assholes, apparently.
>>18577660No one notice Rolex Explorers for sure, and it's a good thing, you wear it if you like craftsmanship.Subs are so ubiquitous (because of the copies) that people will just assume that you're wearing a $200 sub.tldr; yeah it's true
>>18577726the fact of the matter is that you have no data at all to support the claim that "hardly anyone notices">implying everybody who notices, comments>implying everybody who comments, cares>implying everybody who cares, comments
>>18577753I've never been complimented on my Rolex. Some people look at it, so i guess they notice, but they don't say anything about it. I guess it's because it involves money and asking about someone else's money is rude (in civilized countries). I get 0 rizz farming points for wearing a Rolex, compared to the compliments i get for fragrances and some clothes (like the new trucker collar sweater lately).
>>18577660people always comment on mine, odd.
>>18577814if a client is wearing a rolex (or any fancy watch really) and they complain about my bill or their taxes I'll tell them if they are poor they should hawk the watch, those are my comments.
>>18577660Anyone who can even name a few watch brands looks at your watch and mentally processes it. Not everyone knows Parmigiani or H Moser but any basically functional adult can spot an Omega or a Rolex on sight, though they likely won't say anything. Yes even women>but women only know...No, the high school girls you sexually harass in the grocery checkout line are not "women">>18577672They're not looking to humiliate, they're looking to see how you react, if you react with shame you're definitely a loser, if you can parlay it into a laugh you may or may not make a good impression>>18577674You have autism
>>18577660except asking to get robbed, what is the point of wearing an expensive watch anyway?we know it's not to tell the timei always thought rich people bought expensives watches like assets to avoid taxes or as an investmentbut to wear them in public I can't see the benefit of iteven a replica, it's like asking for troubles
>>18577967If you're getting robbed over a $10k watch you should reconsider your life choices.
>>18577982what does that even mean
I have almost no knowledge of watches, and beyond zooming in or looking closely at the text on the face, I couldn't pick a Rolex out of a line-up. If someone is wearing a Rolex, I'd just as likely think they're wearing a Citizen.
>>18577967My lawyer tells me he wears one because if he's stuck in a foreign country and something happens and he needs cash or a bribe he can give up his watch.
>>18578036they are also used to smuggle money across borders. You can't take 100K on you on the plane but you can take a watch. Etc.
>>18577989What do you think it means?
>>18578041Jewelry worth more than $10k is required to be declared with a few exceptions, and those exceptions are on you to prove, not on the customs officials. If they say they're suspicious, you could lose your jewelryMight be worth it if you can stomach a single loss as the cost of doing business as an international organized crime lord, but I wouldn't recommend traveling with your life savings in gold without declaring it if you're a normal person who earned your money the normal way
>>18577967What else can you buy that is sentimental and objects of art and craftsmanship?Don't you like nice things?
