i do my nails black sometimes but i put a heavy matte top coat on them so they're not all shiny and obnoxious and i use cheap polish and use my hands so it chips quickly. i think chipped black polish can look pretty cool in an alt masculine way. the problem is it winds up clashing with a lot of fits so i only really do it in the winter when i'm more likely to be wearing muted colors all the time.

I am the hugest faggot on the entire world and men painting their nails is almost always fucking gay and stupid. Men naturally have fatter fingers and nail polish, especially darker colors, minimizes the shape of the nails and gives them a sausage-y look that's totally gross. I'll admit some men have the anatomy to pull it off but a bunch of performative eboys do it without thinking and just end up looking uglier.
