Brut Archives used to have the majority of their original products made in France or in Europe or even by specialist manufacturers in South Korea. I have some of their older original shirts and they're really nice. But now they're charging the same prices for shit made in China by some random no name factory. If it was made by some kind of Chinese wool artisan with a history of jumper making I'd be fine with that, but I doubt it is.
Literally who?
>>18580106they had some really cool stuff in the past. it was decently priced and had sovl. it was hand sewn, too. I still have some of their workshop pieces.this is really a travesty when I can buy an artisanal euro made cashmere sweater for 240. not saying that china is bad, bronson is a cool brand, norlha is a cool brand. red rocket is a cool brand. many good chinese brands from china, but generally chinese production for other brands remains subpar, especially for the price. you know these frog eaters do not have the capacity to actually collaborate with chinese makers and instead just talk to their friends in established brands for the cheapest factory.that fact that they don't write lambswool also concerns me. knitted wool from where? knitted in china. and they've never fixed the damn ugly design. with brut it's always hit or miss and especially this shit was always garbage, but at least it was made in europe.they just sold out.
>>18580106>If it was made by some kind of Chinese wool artisan with a history of jumper making I'd be fine with that, but I doubt it is.didn't even read your post before replying but that's it. if brut had collaborate with something like norlha and made Their Brut(tm) sweater for 330€ and collaborate with a turkish or portuguese maker for Their Brut(tm) light sweater for 130€ I would've understood that. but no, they just fucking mess it up.
>>18580130>>18580131The originals iirc were made in Portugal with wool sourced from either Shetlands or a similar place. The pink listing still has the old description which has more soul and care about the product. No idea why they've done this, unless they just completely sold out over the last three years.

>>18580106I am also mourning the loss of this brand. They have always been hit or miss but nonetheless they were a cool brand doing their own thing, but now they sell extremely overpriced made in china shit. Their style really hasn't changed much, but them swtiching to china has made me loss all trust in this brand. I still like some of their rework pieces that are made in paris but I no longer feel they warrant paying 400+ eur as not only has their brand value decreased but I can't stop thinking where else are they cutting corners. Idk I don't even want to wear the stuff I own from them anymore.
boo hoo another brand moved production to china/3rd world boo hoo this never happened before
They have some amazing vintage inspired graphic sweats and hoodies but they're crazy expensive for what they are. But this is modern fashion and I hate it.
>>18580106I began to worry once they started releasing new items every week. 165e for a printed graphic sweat made in china, ridiculous. I still love the alpine jacket even though it was overpriced for what it is, great material and fit.
>>18580480Some of their old stuff was overpriced but it was worth it because they were the only people making it. They had some really amazing old school mountaineering and arctic weather clothing that was all made the same standards as the originals and now they just release trendy hipster shit every week. Nevermind universal surplus where they charge you 80 euros for a stinky bulgarian army peasant shirt or 100+ for rip offs of surplus you can buy elsewhere for peanuts
>>18580106>>18580106>>18580134>waaaahhhh this sweater from this random trash brand no one cares about sucks because it's made by a random no name chink factory instead of my random no name Portuguese factory with migrant Chinese workers. OP you're retarded. Just buy actually nice clothes from real brands instead of this fast fashion crap.
>>18581569Perhaps you are missing the point
>>18580106was always fast fashion shit and u were a retard i am afraid.
>>18581913Repurposing old waxed jackets and French military surplus is fast fashion?
>>18581913>>18581569>wah I am a huge faggot please rape my face
You can get nuge shit on ebay brasophus
>>18581918>>18582002lmao whose gonna tell em?
So, I'm pretty sure that Bruts products are produced by Bronson. Meaning that Brut just tripples or quadruples the price to produce a different kind of hipster shit.I'm pretty sure even their 10x "Made in Paris" shit is actually made in China or made from Chinese fabrics.I don't think this is bad, actually. This just confirms that Brut sucks ass and that Chinese makers can do pretty much everything and do everything they want to at a humane price. I will never buy W*stern products agan
>>18582265I just got some of those heavyweight Bronson sweatpants, they are much smaller then the listed measurements and they had a hole in the thigh after a single trip through the (gentle)wash, probably a fabric flaw that was not caught in qc.
>>18580106This looks like some random contemporary fast fashion brand that never mattered. Why do you care, OP? >>18582265Someone else pointed it out above, but many of these 'European' factories are staffed exclusively by Chinese migrant workers. Because of what this brand is I don't really understand why anyone would care where they move manufacturing to. It's like crying that Zara makes clothes in Indonesia and Bangladesh. If you're trying to compete on price while trying to scale, and all you produce are generic products, eventually you're going to have to shift production. That's just how the apparel industry works. Maybe it would be nice if France could maintain massive manufacturing capabilities for pennies on the dollar, but they don't, so what can you do? China has very nice manufacturing these days, I'm sure the product will just be as forgettable, no matter where it's made. >>18581918Well, yes, because fast fashion is about producing trendy goods quickly and cheaply. It doesn't matter that they were able to buy some deadstock for 5 euros a piece and slap a new tag on it, it's still fast fashion. Is it better that a net-new product is made of plastic? Sure maybe, but aesthetically and conceptually, you're arguing over which is the shiniest of two turds. It's lazy, thoughtless crap that brands like Urban Outfitters do.
>>18582330>Well, yes, because fast fashion is about producing trendy goods quickly and cheaply.
