My wife wants a watch for Christmas. Needs to be in a silver/steel color case (ie not gold). Maximum case diameter of 36mm, though 32-35 is probably the sweet spot if it's a round dial. She's intrigued by microbrands but not set on them.

Not sure what to get her; a Cartier Tank is the obvious no-thought required answer, but it's a bit more than I'd like to spend (up to $2500 but ideally closer to $1500).

Any thoughts, /fa/?
