My nephew said he wanted an L.A. Lakers hoodie or sweatshirt. I'd like to spend at least twice that amount of money but I don't want it to be anything uncool that his friends won't like or that he'd be embarrassed to wear. Can you help me out? He's 14, so 8th grade, king of the school, freshman next year. I have no idea really what he's into besides drawing, and I've already given him all of the art supplies he'll need for a long while.Any other practical or cool gift ideas for someone his age are appreciated. The first one is "nicer", but is it dorky? The last time I saw him he had a cotton hoodie on. Do you think he specifically wants no front zipper?
His brother is a few years older. I don't know if I'm going to try and get him clothing at all. I'm not sure of his size.I don't know if the letterman's jacket look is in or if he wants something like they'd practice in.Is leather considered classy or cool or is it lame and tryhard? Small town America here. I'm clueless.Maybe I should get him two $50 ones and hope for the best. Or a nice jacket and a nice hoodie. Or hats and shit too.
What about out of these? Is the bright one on the right "too much"? What's the equivalent of a Starter jacket in the 90s. Before they became trashy? Shit, I guess back then for me it was letterman type wool jacket with leather on the top part, with a drawstring hood I think. I can't remember (Notre Dame it was though). But I don't know if I'd set my sights higher what I would have wanted. I don't know if I could have pulled off a leather jacket. That would've been "showy" at my school anyway. I've never used this board before. Is it slow? Is this uninteresting? I'm going to be ordering in a couple of days at the latest. I'm ordering some stuff now.
The one in the middle here is probably the one I like best, stylewise. Or the middle one in my second post. The one on the right here seems too fancy or something. If it's really cool I'll get it, but I don't want it to be lame. Like when the guy in Wedding Singer wears the Michael Jackson leather jacket. My nephew has more sense than to go out in something that'll mortify him, so it'd just be a wasted gift that cost more than the others. What are you thinking here? Thanks for the consideration.
These items you posted are cheap crap for broke shits.https://www.nbastore.ca/en/los-angeles-lakers/mens-nba-x-hugo-boss-black-los-angeles-lakers-team-bounce-tri-blend-pullover-hoodie/t-14252902+p-7234840390882+z-9-4013651248
>>18605780Oooh, I almost bought the 'ultra game' on the left there and noticed it has nothing on the back. Is nothing on the back good or bad. I used to want stuff on the back. It was REAL important to have Nike Air on the back of your shoes in my day. And an air bubble you could see was top fucking shelf. Nike Force was cool a while with David Robinson. But AIR was very, very important if you couldn't have Jordans, and only a few kids had Jordans. Only one punk kid had Reebok Pump and we hated him for it. He was a dork too so he walked through the halls all smug about his Pumps but no one talked to him about them. It was agreed that he did gain about an inch to his jump, but maybe we just wanted to believe.I had this exact poster on my wall when I was my nephew's age. Just the end of my 'caring about sports and shoes' phase. High school would be the end of a lot of that.
>>18605789Damn, $200? That's a pretty tall order. Anything over $100 and his parents might not approve. Would anyone even appreciate it at his school?Seems too fancy for 8th grade small town America. Or will it blow everyone's minds? I can definitely swing it. I'm also helping choose for grandma, who can swing it. So I can get him multiple things.
>>18605789It's out of stock. I was gonna do it. Dammit. What else? Thanks for replying BTW
I also had this poster.
Should I ask the sports board? Never been there either.I had this poster too. I loved them so much. I loved basketball. That's all we did all summer was ride bikes and play basketball. We had a sweet hoop that all the neighbor kids would come to play on.
This one? I wish there was something else cool like that Hugo Boss one. Fucker teasing me.
Okay, Fashion. Why are these $100? Are they super cool? Will they be enjoyed twice as much? Give him that much more credibility? I think they look dull. But maybe that's the style. Amazon can't be trusted because people put shit on there with inflated prices and idiots like me don't know any better. I always take a carguy friend when I buy a car. I don't know much about young people fashion. What's in? What's out?
I'm thinking I'm zeroing in. The middle seems like the best choice. I'd like the left one but it might be too artsy or fruity for him. What do you think? I really don't like the graffiti style of the far right, but they seem to be equal except style.
Then again, maybe he would like a zipper in the front. I can't decide on one really nice one or two different mid-range options in the $60 range. I'm sure that can't miss.
What about these Hilfigers for the older nephew? Is this puffy thing really that popular? He's in college so it's not like he'll get made fun of for his jacket. What do you guys think of these? Anyone?
Some of them just look ridiculous to me, but they seem to be in style. Right? I don't want to make a joke of him.
What about watches?
>>18605850hilfigers are that cheap in the yoo ess of ay? holy damn
>>18605776get him a gift card for some escort site>>18605780welcome friend, yes it's pretty slow>>18605800asking can't hurt
If he wants Lakers gear you can’t go wrong with Nike or Abercrombie right now. The older nephew won’t want Tommy Hilfiger. Young people aren’t into Tommy Hilfiger. If he wants a down jacket/hoodie just buy a decent for the price one or premium one from REI.
>>18605776is there not a purple hoodie with the lakers logo on it? Get him that.
>>18605776you can try the hoodies the actual players practice in

>>18606176>>18606040>>18605930>>18605928>>18605901Thanks. I ordered him a few different items and got the older boy a nice Hilfiger coat. I can't imagine the chances they browse 4chan at all, let alone /fa/ are very high, but I'm not sure. I don't want to spoil their surprise somehow by posting what I got them. That's paranoid and insane, isn't it?But yet...
Get him a copy of Mein Kampf you fucking piece of shit
>>18606391What the fuck is your problem? Does the idea of someone having a comfy childhood and getting some warm clothes for Christmas especially sting? Ooof. Your post tells me so much about you. Namely that neglect and your broken home have turned you into a bitter nazi incel. Sorry your life sucks, bud. Don't ruin our Christmas. I just ordered myself a countertop espresso machine that will be here in two days. I can't wait to make myself cappucinos while it snows.
>>18606396>want to buy clothes for a teenager>childhood
>>18606417What? You didn't consider 8th grade to be part of childhood? It's not adulthood. How am I wrong?

>>18606888Thanks but it's too late. I already bought everything. They'll be happy I'm sure.
>>18605776best of luck
why do you keep asking instead of just buying literally anything from their official merch store. anything else is going to be a knockoff and a fake is gonna get that kid made fun of big time
>>18606933I'm pretty sure a bunch of 8th grade boys aren't up on what's "official merch" or not. He'll be happy with the two things I got him, one of which IS a $75 officially licensed Lakers hoody. No one's going to make fun of this kid either. He is the one who knocks.
