I don't really like black. have to keep it immaculate because it shows any dandruff, hair, lint or whatever else. mixing blacks is difficult, if you're wearing two or more blacks it very often looks wrong if they aren't the same. and a lot blacks fade very poorly so they look worse with age.

Simple as. Nothing beats blue. Navy, indigo, foam, petrol, skyblue, pearl, midnight, you simply can't go wrong. And it works no matter the style, too. Formal, casual, beach, doesn't matter.

It's the only color I don't buy, which is ironic, because I come from a long line of men who always bought a lot of Black just a couple centuries ago.

Anyways, I ditched all of my black clothes, and now focus on wearing

>grays: light gray, silver, charcoal, slate, etc
>white, off-white
And basically everything matches and can do the "capsule wardrobe" thing. Throw in a few accent colors (teal, plum, burgandy) on that base for more variety.

Black limits your mix-and-matchability when it comes to blues and browns, so if you just commit to TBD (total black discarding), you can dress faster and with more options.

It's the worst color there is. I stopped wearing black and white 15 years ago. It's npc low effort trash.

On men, black is for shoes, belts, and ties. If you are under 30, black can work for a leather jacket. If you are over 30, black can work for a bomber jacket. Otherwise, grey and blue are practically universal, brown is close, yet context dependent obviously. Green is a bit more context dependent than those three, but still great. Dark reds/burgundys have their place, but you can't wear more than one piece or two accessories without looking like Jack White. Other things like oranges, pinks, yellows, and purples should be used sparingly. White is still only for Easter to Labor Day unless you are in a tropical country or a US state that touches the Gulf of Mexico.
