>is the perfect jacket in your path You DO own an M-65 jacket, right?
>>18612140For me it's gonna have to be the Fjällräven Räven jacket
>>18612140>Mogs u in m-65 fishtail
>>18612187It has its uses I'm sure but the original is still the superior jacket

Is this a good jacket
>>18612721on a scale of 1 to Cheech and Chong, how high are you right now
>>18612603look like it smells
>>18612635I don't think it matters, personally I have a new Alpha Industries one (made in China unfortunately) and love it
>>18612723What does Cheech and Chong have to do with this, in trying to look cool man
>>18612603Super classy jacket
>>18612727what you posted has nothing to do with the thread and is nothing like an M65hence me asking how high you are rnwhat you added to the thread is known as a 'non-sequitur'.
>>18612735This thread became a jacket general where we talk about all things jacket related
hoboshit
>>18612140Why would I own a no-cut jacket in puke green made in Bangladesh?
>>18612750okay you're definitely a retard nice
>>18612746OP here I make the rules and I say this thread is NOT a jacket general and all posts must relate to M-65 jackets or I'll speed dial the mods and get you banned or something
>>18612754Sorry sir, may you forgive me sweet heart
>>18612140M85 man myself but I like your style.
>>18612766I like it but I feel like I'd miss the two lower pockets
>>18612140yes, cheapo Brandit copy - perfect as a daily beater.will buy a higher quality repro once I wear it out.
>>18612766based beyond belief
>why yes i do wear a black m65 jacket everywhere, what gave it away?
whats the deal with the massive sizing on these?bought a brandit from ebay..im 175cm, 72kg. i couldnt be more medium manI bought a medium and the thing was absolutely fucking massive. hanging down around my knees, horrible fit. bare in mind these jackets are supposed to be from the 50s or 60s when soldiers were average like 170cm tall.I returned it and got a small and guess what, the thing was TOO BIG still despite me being a hair over average height/weigh. the small hung around knees and had to be tucked in, baggy etc..i had to throw it in the bin after some asshole left dogshit on the grass in the park and i was trying to kidnap a kid through the park and he kicked me in the chest when i was trying to grab him. dogshit all down it straight in bin.should i order an XS next time? are all the companies that make these oversizing them or is brandit just doing it alone?
Hood or no hood?
>>18612834Black is school shooter core
>>18612853A proper M-65 has the hood hidden inside. I personally just removed it because I don't like the feeling of the bulk behind my neck
>>18612140I was really into m65 field coats back around 2008-2010. I had a bunch of military surplus and replicas. I still have a a woodland camo and an Austrian.>>18612766Kek. I have one of those. The zipper was commy trash and broke the first time I used it. The buttons were trash too. I installed some heavy-duty snaps and it is actually wearable now. Thinking about over-dying it brown or something though because I don't really like the color.
>>18612908> The zipper was commy trash and broke the first time I used it.Had similar problems with the zipper but not the buttons. I just got a tailor to install a new better zipper and it's still comfy as it was before.
>>18612844It's oversized by design. They were made to be the outermost layer by soldiers who could be wearing like 3 layers underneath plus a warm nylon liner depending on weather conditions.Just get an XS, lol.
>>18612140I've owned and sold over 20 of them. Not for me too many spergs buy these things.
>>18612140the main problem with the m65 is i love wearing fatigue pants and wearing both at the same time is too larpy
who makes good, mil spec m-65s in brown, grey, or navy? I have a good OD one, I'd like a couple other colors, and I don't want rothco trash.
>>18612726really? i've been contemplating buying one for quite some time now and i cant decide between the greek m65 (picrel) and one of the brandit/helikon reproductions. the greek one is obviously cheaper but i don't know about the quality compared to the alternatives, and personally i cant see myself wearing one that's been around since the 1970s for the price of my big toe
>velcro
A1 still the based
>>18612635>>18613428Why the fuck wouldn't you get a surplus one? Out of the ones mentioned here: US is best, Austrian second, and Greek a distant third. Brandit, miltec, etc is all garbage. Why get a Chinese made alpha industries one for an absurd amount when you can get a surplus one for under 100?
>>18613868Because you want one without the agent orange on it?
>>18613876You know, they made that thing all the way up to like 2012 or some shit. You can get a UCP M65 jacket. I know. I have one.
>>18612140Yes. Played too much Silent Hill 2 and took the larping too far. No regrets as they are awesome jackets.
>>18613890those iron heart ones look too new. they need to go through the wash about 10 times
>>18613876What a bizarre, paranoid response to justify getting complete shit
I have a german army jacket
>>18613937Good but lacking substance. More of an over shirt>>18612777It does have hand warmer pockets but they are quite small.
>>18612144>FjällrävenI recently bought a parka from them
>>18613940Mine is black though
>>18612187I managed to find used Alpha Industries parka in black and it looked hardly worn if washed at all. I tried to zip it up and the zipper pin came off as I tried to zip it, so I guess thats why they stopped wearing it. Hoping it should be an easy DIY fix or I can take it to someone who can mend clothes.Thankfully it hasnt gotten too cold yet where Im at so Ive been fine with just using the buttons for now
someone recommend me a black jacket of some kind with a "mock neck" sort of like the m65. waxed, cotton, wool, all acceptable. unlined, lined but not super puffy, also okay. under $200
>>18612603I can smell this through screen
I just found a used alpha industires one for 80 canadian bucks but it's a size small and I usually wear medium. Should I get it?
>>18614332They are oversized, so it might be a good fit. If not, it's just 80 and you can always resell it or return it (maybe)
>>18614335https://www.alphaindustries.com/products/mjm53505co-m-65-mod-field-coat-gen-ii?variant=40207439495223realized it;s this version, still a good move?
>>18614338I don't own the Gen II, I have their regular one. But I wear L in pretty much everything and I ordered L and it fits great These are pretty much true to size

>>18613868>Why the fuck wouldn't you get a surplus one?i was under the impression that the repros have better quality materials, ive seen pictures of both and the greek & austrian jackets look plastic-y and generally low quality in comparison. ideally i'd get an american m65, but since im a euro they're basically the same price as if not more expensive than a brand new brandit/helikon jacket.
>>18612603certified saarcore
Thoughts?
>>18614358why dont you just get an american m65 if you want one? brandit/helikon/the greek ones and other repros are complete trash in comparison, theyre nowhere near the same quality despite being the same price.
>>18614389I think you need to clean that mirror and stop standing on the wall.
>>18614423It was a storefront and I'm a phone poster. Sorry :(
>>18612140I've had something similar and it just got soaked after longer snow/rainfall was it a shit model or do you guys just live in places where it doesn't get any precipitation? I barely ever see someone that's not in a puffer or shell
>>18614358>i was under the impression that the repros have better quality materialsJapanese repros are indeed higher quality but are usually based on the first and second pattern jackets which have a 100% cotton sateen shell instead of Nyco and are much heavier, also aluminium for the talon zips instead of brass, you really don't want to get them wet.>ive seen pictures of both and the greek & austrian jackets look plastic-y and generally low quality in comparison. The Austrian jackets have a goretex shell and tuck-under hood with a higher collar and actually outperform the american issued ones (although IMO look kinda ugly), the greek one is a cheap poly-cotton blend.>ideally i'd get an american m65, but since im a euro they're basically the same price as if not more expensive than a brand new brandit/helikon jacket.Helikon makes a 1:1 copy of the third pattern jacket with the same nyco material, replicated talon brass zips and the original US military sizing, although the liner is partly their own design.Brandit is cheap polyester blend with plastic zips and a slimmer cut.>>18614421Nam Era surplus M65's are distressed as fuck and stink horribly due to long storage and decay, woodland/UCP are all 4th pattern and made of polyester with plastic zips.
