nostalgia edition.Did you play video games as a kid? If not video games, what makes you feel nostalgic? Tell us freely because:This thread offers a forum to discuss and debate wristwatches, pocket watches, and clocks. Several members here are highly knowledgeable in specified areas of horology, so please contribute to the thread by asking questions and/or asking for advice if you are planning on purchasing a watch from an AD or the grey market. Please post pics of your watches here; it doesn't matter if it's worth 5$ or 50000$, because there might be someone who wishes to eventually purchase the same model that you own and would love to hear some real-world advice regarding ownership. The experience matters the most, not the price.Everyone is welcome in this thread, because we are all Frens here.
This was my second watch. The first one was a cheap F91w clone that said 'water resistant' so i immediately tested it under some running water from the sink and it died 10 minutes later. So i got a proper watch this time. The plastic was hard and indestructible, but the strap failed about 3 years in. It had a cool function of measuring average speed. You could put in the distance and then time things with the stopwatch and it would give you your average speed over that distance.
>>18618574>5$>Frens>video gamesGay. This is all gay.
Posting in the best thread ever made.Pic rel, the best watch ever made.Cheers frens.
>if you care about the price, watches aren't really for you
>>18618601He's right though. You can't back up your snobby bitchy posts. It's all entirely subjective and you know it. Those images are fucking faggy too. Are you a grown man? lol
>>18618603So you can't care about the price and just buy watches that you personally see as worth it and cool? No? It's just not for you. That guy is a fag, and you can't even defend him properly.
>>18618601If you’re a manchild who wants to prove how wealthy he is (and is definitely not just bad with money) then price matters.
you’re still supposed to claim to not care about price. It just happens to come up all the time in normal conversation
>>18618603>Are you a grown man? What do you mean? A grown man can be into video games and children’s anime. No law against that.
>>18618612there fucking should begrow up> When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
I just came here for watches. Can you niggers stop having a moment and post some watches?
>>18618651Blame OP. He's trying to make a watch thread but also have it be his manchild incel hugbox of faggotry. You can't really have both. No one wants to post their watches in here with this Saturday Morning Cereal millennial nostalgia bullshit with the tinge of the KHHV Pepe/Apu stink on it.
>>18618651Can you not use the n-word on a blue board? That's racism. It's not allowed here.
>>18618634Fuck you. When I became a man my mom could no longer tell me that I couldn’t wear Hello Kitty clothes in public.
>>18618609I was making fun of the faggot who was saying that you shouldn't care if the watch is too expensive, you should just buy it for fun anyway. My point was, buy reasonably, buy what is good and reasonably affordable.
>>18618669But wearing Hello Kitty has kept you from being a man.I do think you were joking.
>>18618704I was exaggerating about Hello Kitty specifically but a black Kuromi or Badtz-Maru t-shirt is a perfectly normal thing for an adult to wear.
>>18618710Not in the USA where I'm from. But do whatever you want. Maybe where you live you won't look like an incel or pedo.
>>18618658nobody would use the word nigger, until you started farming it yourself, niggercel.
>>18618454I'm dredging up my post from the last thread to seek more opinions on this. There's actually an even brighter brown available than this, but I think that might be too much: https://molequin.com/products/mustard-suede-watch-strapThe watch is still on the way so I can't actually swap the straps in person, but I'd like to buy the right color the first time so I don't have to go to the process of buying straps and sending them back to compare them, so I'm hoping somebody with more experience and a discerning eye for watch strap coordination can help me make a decision.
My wrist fluctuates between 7.5 in and 7.75 in around depending on how hydrated and active I am at the moment, do you think I have a big enough wrist to make the enormous Tudor BB bronze look right? It's a 43mm case but the real issue is the 52mm lug to lug distance, which would be the largest I've ever worn, by far.
>>18618804You should get this one instead.
Other than the F91What are respectable watches under $50?
>>18618813Negative aura
>>18618592I like your Citizen. Maybe I'll get one like that some day. Happy with this one for the time being though.
>>18618802Both will work, the only way to tell which one works best is in person.
>>18618804
Kofé time.
>>18618895OMG I wanna be you so bad!!!!
>>18618906Me too bro..Me too.>>18618895Need to get an ID on the ciggies and watch bruh.
>>18618882Someone needs to reach out to CW and have them choose half of their logo to keep and toss the other.
>>18618802Impossible to tell from product pictures when the difference is so small because they'll never use the same lighting. The two would work, I'd pick the brighter one from your link personally. I always try to match colors of the same intensity, and that tiffany blue is as bright as it gets so I'd get a strap that matches that. The sand one is more muted and would fit a lighter dial better.
Now I'm looking at this one. Upped my budget a little since the $150 Seikos keep sucking. Anyone like these? It's got the NH35 AND the Sapphire Crystal. Two of the things everyone says to get. I'm sacrificing both for the name Seiko and so far they haven't worked out. I just want ONE good automatic for my collection.
>>18618968>counts every dollar>thinks he is smart for it>turns out the watches he bought suck>it would've been fine if he just paid $20-50 more the first time>now entire watches will be unused>hundreds of dollars wasted>b-but I have 89k saved, I know what I'm doingIs this the second biggest faggot in this thread? (Right after me)
My daily watch.
>>18618936Yeah, i once ordered a grey strap and it was actually olive green when i got it.
>>18619012What's wasted? What are you talking about? I never said I knew what I was doing. I just know what I want. I didn't fuck up by ordering watches that didn't work. It's not like Seiko 5 is well known for sucking. Who says I think I'm smart? You don't know anything about me. Show me the last watch you bought.
Now it's down to these. I'm leaning toward the small seconds one on the right. Lots of good reviews. Seen several videos regarding the pros and cons of that specific watch. 38mm is supposed to improve upon the 40+. Only drawback is the crystal apparently.
>>18619077I would just save up and buy a nicer watch. Get something 2k+
And let me know if I should be shopping somewhere else. I've been to Macy's and Chrono64 and watchwarehouse and several others, but no one offers the prices and selection of Jomashop for name brand watches. So far they've been cool about returns, though I'd really like to keep the next one.
>>18619080Why? I can afford that now but I don't believe in it. What the fuck am I getting for $2,000? A headache, that's what. $300 tops. I'm still very happy with the watches I have so far. I'm almost there with this last watch. I might just order the same Seiko again and hope for the best. It's only $139 on sale. Perfect size and everything. They just sent me a busted one. I'm not seeing a lot of extra anything when you jump from $200 to $300 though. There was an Orient Star just in my range.
>quartz>100 dollars or less>38mm or less>diver bezel>50m+ water resistance>rubber strap preferredHelp me find the cheap quartz midsized diver of my dream /wt/
>>18619091>solar also preferred
>>18619077I'm so tired of these being shilled to new watch enthusiasts. They're so big and gaudy, huge cases and extremely thick, makes you look like you're a kid wearing your dad's watch. I wouldn't go as far as >>18619080 says but I'd definitely go into the $500-$1000 range instead.
>>18618574I'm looking at this watch or for something very similar.
>>18619091>>18619092Here you go bro.No solar, but it has a "10 year battery".I have one with an orange dial, and the battery is lasting me more than 15 years somehow. I only wore it for the first 3 years, and it's been sitting in my closet ever since (not turned off or anything). It is definitely under $100.I can take some pics of mine later when I get home if you are interested.
>>18619077>>18619061Just get a seamaster
>>18619076>>18618968You're quickly becoming my favourite meme-poster. Love your persona.
>>18619149What's up with the cartoon font?
>>18619163NTA but his postings are a breath of fresh air, we needed someone like him.
>>18619107Check Stowa and Aliexpress clones.
>>18619186I think it fits the overall style of the watch.
>>18619188You just wait. More to come.
Just a quick reminder for you guys; real Chads wear U-Boat.Posers wear Invicta and cucks wear Panerai.peace out and merry CHRISTMAS fuckers.
>>18619251I am a chad and I wear chinkshit.
Are Seiko Prospex automatic watches with that 72 hour power reserve movement any good?I've seen some cool-looking ones for like €1.5k. Are there some better/cooler watches in this price range that I should consider?
>>18619251>U-BoatThey just released a new watch for $2000 with a $40 quartz movement; typical swiss bullshit but you'll gulp it down
>>18619398Must be a helluva design.
>>18619400lol
>>18619407What a joke.
>>18619409It's supposed to look rotted out? For thousands?I'll never understand.
>>18619413The watch only costs $500 the rest is for the air bubble.
>>18619415kekthe air bubble is an optional subscription extra
Love the topic OP, so I'll contribute. These two games make me very nostalgic, though Congo Bongo and Test Drive are in the same category of course. These games are before many of you, but that's okay...all of history is before all of us.Good health to you all, (yes, even to you BitterAnon), and Merry Christmas!
>>18619475Wait... Are you....?No fucking way
>>18619481Yep. I turned the big five-oh this year!
>>18619495Thank you for blessing this thread. If you don't mind, could you make a new Christmas version thread? Or new years one
>>18619481>>18619495>>18619517What the fuck is this gay, insider bullshit? You go kiss each other's butts somewhere else, will ya? Pathetic.
>>18619527Show some respect, thats Mark from Long Island watch
>>18619534So? What's that, a store in New York? And someone who works there posts here? Seems pretty stupid to me. I didn't realize "Mark" was royalty to be respected. Old floppy disks and playing along with OP's faggotry.. I don't like him already. Humbug to ya both.
>>18619542You need to go back.
>>18619550Can you elaborate on that? I see it now and then but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be going back to.Thanks in advance.
