Need to buy a blazer for the first time but I have no idea what to look for and there are a billion options on ebay. Any tips? Will mainly wear it with no tie, navy chinos, white button up shirt

I found an O'connel's for cheap that I think is the right size (I have 34 inch chest). Is it good?
>>18619006Look for sellers that allow returns if you want a less risky way to try. Personally I just went to thrift stores until I found something that fit, looked okay, and was 100% wool. Also you'll almost always need to get the sleeves tailored. Also don't skip the tie, it really helps completes the look.
>>18619006us or europe? if you have a macys or dillards near you, go in there and get measured for a blazer
>>18619273us. I hate going to malls though.
>>18619006Wouldn't you be better off going with a sports jacket instead? Especially if you're going the no tie look. Blazers still have a bit of formality to them.
>>18619284I don't really know the difference between sports jackets and blazers. Blazers are like solid color sports jackets with metal buttons and a more tailored fit? Is that it?
Uhhh actually navy chinos and a navy blazer looks too much like a suit doesn't it?
>>18619317Yeah pretty much. Sports jackets are usually cut a bit more roomier for layering purposes, as well as coming in more patterned styles. Plus back in the day they were the casual dress option to your suit.>>18619337Yeah definitely go with another colour for the pants. Nothing worse than people thinking you're wearing a mismatched suit.
>>18619479I looked for a while and grey wool pants are the only kind of pants that look good with a navy blazer to me. Everything else looked retarded
>>18619337gray slacks, gray flannel wool always works.
