Second hand clothes fucking suck. When stuff is actually good it gets scooped up full price at retail and NEVER makes it to the second hand market. People then wear that shit into the ground and hold onto it forever. There is an absurd amount of stuff you see come out on the runway, drop at retailers, and then it never ever shows up second hand.

If you're seeing stuff show up second hand it's always because:

1) It fits weird and has sizing issues.
2) It's a weird colour or material that not that many people like.
3) It didn't sell well and went to discount, then a poorfag bought it and now they need money.
4) It's absolutely beat to shit.

The stuff that sells out full price just doesn't turn up second hand. Poorfags can't afford it and the people who buy it don't need the money. I have watched this cycle play out countless times:

1) Item goes to 80% off on SSENSE, and still no one buys it.
2) A few months later it shows up on Yoox cause SSENSE sold it to them.
3) Someone buys it on Yoox, it obviously doesn't work, that's why it went to 80% off, then it ends up on Grailed.

The shit you see on Grailed is basically the worst junk that any brand produces. I still buy shit second hand sometimes but it's because I have weird and ultimately unprofitable taste and genuinely like a lot of stuff that's considered "failures" by the brands I'm into. But there's also A LOT of genuinely good, well regarded stuff, from brands I'm into and I CANNOT find it second hand no matter what.

That's why 2k26 you gotta get your bread up. If you aren't copping full retail you are NOT getting the best shit from your favourite brands.

Didn't read your post but is the outfit in your picture serious? Someone made that and put it on, thinking it would look cool? I wouldn't even put that on as a joke for like a costume party or whatever. Again, not being facetious, I am truly curious.

first of all, go back and read my post so you won't get #ethered in 2k26, im trying to help you nigga.

second of all, it's one of the hardest fits of all time. baixchen deleted his tumblr after posting it cause he knew he could never top it. he just shut it down on the highest note possible. after he dropped this fit like 80 different places all started making bootlegs of the original tee. when was the last time you saw someone post a fit and it resulted in an entire movement of product being created and sold?

closest thing i can think of was rick in the IMA READ hat but that shouldn't even count cause rick was famous and bai was just a /fa/ nigga.

>howd he go from niche fashion meme shit to becoming an actual famous meme

same way any musician does, he continually dropped good music over and over again and didn't stop. it's sinple really.
>>
nah, plenty of curated vintage and upscale secondhand places these days. quit hanging around at Goodwill and Grailed and get into an actual brick and mortar run by someone who knows their shit

shopping secondhand is also a good way to get exposure to brands you'd never hear of otherwise
>>
with the amount of clothes floating around in general, it's unethical buying new/retail because of how bad it is for the environment. more so if you buy the full inflated price for clothes from luxury brands that use illegal, underpaid sweatshop workers. you're pretty much kneeling like a good goy consoomer whenever you buy a full price item from an lvmh brand. total humiliation ritual.

Do you know where a vast majority of everything you come into contact with on a daily basis comes from or your government's yearly budget for anti chinese propaganda?
You can easily look up either.
>>
>>18624704
I been doing this twice as long as you have probably. You don't know what you're talking about. Actually read my post. The best shit doesn't make it to the second hand market EVER. Someone has to sell for something to end up there. People aren't selling the best shit that sells out full price. They buy it and wear it into the ground. You'll never see it in the type of store you're talking about.

>>18624723
Who the fuck said anything about LVMH? This rule applies to EVERY brand. Doesn't matter if you're into Gucci or the most obscure shit on the planet. The best stuff sells out at full price and never makes it to the second hand market. If you only buy second hand you are resigning yourself to only wearing second rate stuff, sorry but that's just reality.

>it's unethical buying new/retail because of how bad it is for the environment

Making clothes is one of the most low impact things for the environment. They also wear out and need to be replaced. The only reason fashion gets attacked with this eco-warrior shit is because it's an easy target. Someone can not buy a $1,500 shirt they could never afford and were never going to buy in the first place and tell people it's bad but they can't decouple from shit that's actually killing the planet. Go be a faggot somewhere else.

>>18624744
Dude not even Chinese people want to buy Chinese shit once they get rich they move to the west and would fucking never touch Chinese made baby formula or clothes. Enjoy your testicular cancer and infertility.

maybe instead of buying hyped brands on grailed you should look for some quality items instead?
you can find great knitwear from heritage brands for pennies second hand, stuff that costs hundreds of dollars new but doesn't have the resale value of an overhyped designer brand

same goes for things like tweed coats. it's not buying second hand that sucks, it's buing on Grailed and buying designer pieces second hand
>>
>>18624424
>Second hand clothes fucking suck.
From what I'm reading you just suck at thrifting.
>i tried to buy second hand clothes online and they were all overpriced or complete shit!!
Are you retarded or something? You have to look in person. Go to a goodwill or something. Even the shitty millennial "thrift stores" that are run by resellers have better prices. Go to a goodwill, go to the men's section, find your size, and flip through everything there. If you want nice clothes at a cheap price, you have to put the work in to find them.
I find quality clothes ALL THE TIME at regular thrift stores. No you aren't going to find fast fashion nig brands or chinese streetwear, but you can find quality dress clothes and vintage pieces from Lacoste, RL, Calvin Klein, and pretty much every department store brand, all at 10% MSRP. And a lot of them are older pieces, so they're actually quality before these companies got bought out and went to complete shit. Last weekend I found a fitted Brooks Brothers dress shirt that fits me perfectly in mint condition and it only cost me around $7.

go to an estate sale.
>>
>>18628104
thrifting is for larping fags who like to lie to themselves about what they found (which was also found in the donation bin) works well because muhrarity or fades/proportions done by some fat fuck
>>
>>18628115
it's just a clothes store that sells used clothes...I never care about "rarity" or anything, I care about the price and whether I like it. Don't seethe just because you're bad at it.
>>
>>18628120
and proof youre "good" at thrifting at thrift stores with cuck prices
>>
>>18624424
The best bet is someone like me who bought a ‘capsule wardrobe’ and then started lifting so all their clothes no longer fit. I don’t want to give them to charity because they’re too good for that
>>
>>18624424
>>18628196
current consumers leans more towards local or travel curated shops or trade swap meet events outside of tiktok, shopify, insta, grailed, depop
>>
>>18624424
the key is freshness. a brand new jacket is just far fresher. another key is to be large in size. I cop regularly new items that are great looking but put on sale because of the large sizes dont sell in europe.
but you are right about fits etc, buying fashion from ssense online is like rulette unless its a known brand u already own items of.

Good bait, but there's a kernel of truth in here.
The primary exception is that notable stuff becomes so sought after that its 2nd-hand prices exceed retail, so it does eventually appear.
>>18624504
Physical second-hand stores are almost universally terrible. There are like a dozen curated secondhand stores worldwide that are actually good and run by people who aren't complete retards.
