My hair is black but my beard is red. What causes this? Nobody in my family is a redhead.

>>18624519Blonde people. My hair is mid to dark brown, the whole moms side is blonde, and I too used to have a red beard. Now it's mostly white despite me only being mid 30 lmao. Kinda wild.

Relatively common in Celtics and Germanics and even some Meds. You’re European. It’s basically that simple.

i have this too and my dad told me its because we have some native american blood in us, but who knows
>>18624764The Irish have a legend of pre-Colombian Native American contact (Voyage of Brennan) and when you consider we are great sailors and shipbuilders and realize how close those all those little islands in the North Atlantic are it's not unreasonable. Plus everybody knows Leif Eriksson was the the child of Erik Redbeard. A full-blood Haida won't have red hair but metizes and castizes might carry the gene unexpressed as result of thousands of years of generic drift. If you do have native ancestors and and have a biracial parent as well you might have redheaded Celtic ancestors on both sides causing these rare hair genes to re-express themselves in your generation.
>>18624575this, brown hair/red beard is incredibly common in northern England, Scotland and Ireland
