5 Things Millennials Should Stop Wearing In 2026
>dress sneakers
>wacky socks
>skinny jeans
>stretchy synthetics
>ugly backpacks

I can't stand Stridewise, but this video is spot on. Dress sneakers are a fucking cringe against humanity. Wacky socks are so embarrassing. Skinny jeans are so dated and ugly. Synthetics are shit and backpacks are so fucking ugly.

>dress sneakers
I've never worn sneakers, of any variety, to a "formal" event. I've never owned, or worn, them.
>wacky socks
I don't wear "long socks" with my shorts, and you cannot see my socks when I wear pants. I don't claim to own "wacky" styled socks, but also, no one would ever know if I wear them (which is the opposite of modern fashion).
>skinny jeans
I was born in 1987. "Skinny" clothes was always viewed as effeminate, girly, childish, and gay for my generation. As a 38-year-old athletic white man, I've always purchased clothing that fit my needs and comfort... which never included tight pants.
>stretchy synthetics
Has its use for arctic climates or other niche sports. Care to explain this, or is this just 3 guys whining about gym-thots?
>ugly backpacks
Care to define? If it serves its purpose, I have to assume it earns its value. Incidentally, "hunter's orange" is actually a color I highly promote for pedestrians; you're likely to save yourself from an accident or help your family and friends find you.

>Fun socks are bad

Meh. Unless you're trying to obnoxiously highlight them with a really high pant break or low cut shoes/loafers I really don't see a problem outside of very professional settings.

I agree with the other points though.

>>dress sneakers
I was never on board with this fad. As an adult, I never wore sneakers if I wasn't working out or playing sports.

>>wacky socks
Another thing I never did, but I doubt this was ever a real fad. Crazy socks have been a thing since at least the mid-20th century. It's not going to go away. You're either about it or you're not. Doing it because of fashion trends is about as performative as you can get.

>>skinny jeans
These have always been gay. When it first started to be a trend, I thought it was just faggots wearing girl pants.

>>stretchy synthetics
These have their place. They're good undergarments and workout wear. I don't recall anybody wearing this casually to consider it a trend.

>>ugly backpacks
All backpacks are ugly.
>>
>>18631394
skinny jeans are the only item listed that was ever a serious fashion item
>>

He really should stop having that fat bald guy on. He looks retarded and is annoying. The older Asian guy is cool though
>>
>>18631538
My thoughts exactly. I'm supposed to care about the opinions and advice of a self-described "fashion guru" when he's really a bald chubby manlet?
it's bad enough stridewise thinks he's a good dresser when every single fit of his looks like complete shit
agree the gay asian dude is legit though. he's got good advice, good fits. too bad he's a gay asian manlet
>>
>>18631394
I think those are things nobody should wear.
>>
>>18631394
>>dress sneakers
Have always hated these. If you're in a professional setting wear real dress shoes and if your work is that casual just wear normal sneakers.
>>
>>18631653
I saw them constantly at my old job and they looked like shit 100% of the time

the crazy socks thing is so fucking embarrassing and screams "millennial"
>>
What's the best alternative to backpacks?
Each day I take my work laptop to and from the office, a notebook and my headphones
A briefcase seems unnecessary
>>
>>18632542
convertible tote/backpack like osprey daylite tote, patagonia has an equivalent too i think

what else should your outfit scream if you're a millennial?
>>
>>18632722
Classic menswear
>>
>>18631394
I've been wearing skinny jeans since 2009 when I was a teenage emo and will never, ever stop.
>>

>When it first started to be a trend, I thought it was just faggots wearing girl pants.
It was. They weren't making skinny stretch jeans for men in the early 2000s so gay emo kids wore their sister's pants instead
>>
>>18631866
wacky socks are a meme from before millenials were even conceived. you wouldn't get it
>>
>dress sneakers
They were ugly back n the day. Good thing they're dying. If your outfit or ocassion requires dress shoes, wear proper shoes, not the child version of that.
>wacky socks
I assume this means any socks with graphs, patterns or vibrant colors. They're OK as long as you don't bring unnecessary attention to them. You can't see them most of the time anyway.
>skinny jeans
Never was a fan. Forty year old dudes still wearing skinnies are cringe. They will come back, hopefully only to people who can actually wear them.
>stretchy synthetics
For casual wear no, with the exception of jackets. For sports and activities yes. But most people I see wearing those lately are zoomers in athleisure.
>ugly backpacks
A backpack is an utility item. Nobody carries one if they don't have to.
>>
>wacky socks
You'll have to pry them from my cold dead feet.
>>
>>18633147
Imagine needing some ugly socks to replace the fact you have no personality
