What's the cheapest bottle of Casbah for sale in the EU?The store I bought one from at €124 refused to ship it to me one day after I bought it and refunded me saying the bottles were already sold out.I'm buying a bottle anyway but I'd rather not pay €190 for it (provided it's available).

I smell rose in Dior Fahrenheit and the parfum flanker. How come there’s no rose in the official note breakdown and fragrantica? I see why people smell diesel though, it does smell gassy. But there’s got to be rose in this.
>>18633368sounds grosswas going to order a bottle for the memes but i guess i'll better go for a decant first
>>18633394Never smelled Kerosene’s Walk The Sea, is it a beast like Megamare and those are all just troll answers, or is this like a subtle attempt with Megamare slipped in the middle?

Is it gay to wear tobacco frag if you don’t smoke??
>>18633600it's only gay if you have to ask this question
>>18633368>smells like a state park welcome centerI have no idea what you're talking about so you should elaborate on that. Toy boy is just a bunch of synthetic notes fighting for attention to my nose. Heavy on the pear and pink pepper in the opening. The rose is nice, not realistic and not as prominent as I'd like it to be. On the dry down it turns into a woody scent.
The new The One Parfum smells worse than the EDP
>>18633309>I prefer 20th century classics and dat shii dey got in Dubai. There is an OBJECTIVE MORAL WEAKNESS in the performative hygenia of fresh scents and the servile affability of sweet, yum-yum gourmands. There are no anachronisms in perfume, only consensus pigs bending over for approval and terrified of the perceived loneliness of standing out. Perfect dupes have temuified fragrance. The genderless safety of designer and niche has redditized fragrance. I'm not special for rejecting it, but I do reject it and I'd like to see you do the same. /fra/ I need your help. I want to buy my first fragrance after a loooong time and I got some kind of a credit to use in a store. The problem is, this store has a weird selection, not much to choose from and only a couple of fragrances actually so I must choose from those. My goal is: since this will be my main and only (current) fragrance, I want it to be wearable daily, in office and also in night and during special occasions. It must be decent all year long, it must smell good to receive compliments. It must last long and I dont mind experimenting with various notes like leather etc. It must be masculine enough but not old dad/-grandpa smell. My old fragrances back in the days were Horizon by Guy Laroche and Aqua Di Gio. So I narrowed my choices to:Invictus,1 Million Elixir,The One Dolce&Gabbana1 MillionLe Male Le Parfum by JPGY Eau de Parfum Yves Saint LaurentPrada L'Homme IntenseTom Ford Ombré LeatherPour Homme Oud Noir by VersaceThey also have Oud Sapparot by Montale, Intense Instant Crush by Mancera and Erotika Maximale by New Notes but I hear lots of different opinions on those and mixed reviews on Fragrantica
>>18633732>Masculine enough but not grandpa scentI think you would like Sauvage Elixir. But since youre an unc, (back in the days you wore Guy Laroche) You could pull off Ombre Leather. I think the only bad chocolate is one million, it’s too immature.

>>18633630>I have no idea what you're talking about so you should elaborate on that.its hard to explain if youre not overly familiar with them. theyre sort of like museums but for nature. the combination of new wood, freshly waxed floors in a climate-controlled building and whatever smell comes off the exhibits creates something similar to all the synthetic notes you mentioned.i imagine a similar comparison is how some people compare incense to being in an old church or frankincense to a dusty old library

I'm somewhat new into the "niche" fragrance scene and have found interest in more of the artsy fartsy houses like Orto Parisi, Meo Fusciuni, Zoologist, and the like. How do the more seasoned folks decipher buying the product vs. the "brand".
>>18634532>Orto ParisiThey don't have samples and I wont fall for hype, so I refuse to give them money.>Meo Fusciuninever heard of it>Zoologistthe animals are cringyThere isn't much discernible difference between niche and designer especially when some niche are owned by designer. They don't get a pass in price or accessibility because of some invented category. The golden rules still apply: Do I like the smell and is it worth it to me. Everything else is marketing.
>>18634531You'll want Dior Homme Original (2021), not DH2020.
>>18634016Is Montale Full Incense good?
>>18634545I went to try some in-store and found them interesting but I have been trying to get on skin and spend time vs. buying into the idea. I'm not into the "yeah I'm wearing Eau D'Shit, it smells of a rotting carcass the perfumer discovered in Albania while hiking". I agree that the niche/designer distinction seems to be disappearing and more "artisanal" ones fill that niche gap. Which ones do you like as of late?
What do we think of the current formulation of Loewe Esencia (EDT)?I'm considering buying it from a discounter, as I like green scents like Jules and Polo Green
>SOTD/SOTN: Caron Pour Un Hommeeasily lasts 24hrs on my skin (in its current formulation), fortunately it's a great frag
>>18634532>more seasoned folkThey try them and form personal opinions based on how they smell and how much they cost.>/frag/They repeat memes they've read on the internet. Then again, when you're buying a product like a frag it's next to impossible to separate the smell from the brand and the presentation and the marketing copy and such, so the best you can do is try them out and see how you like them.>>18634556I don't think the zingy metallic side of it smells very high quality or that the incense as a whole feels all too realistic, but it's not a bad quality scent and it performs well, so I think it's worth trying if the description sounds appealing.
>>18633334Fuck you all (but >>18633988) in the end I got a bottle from a mid 2024 batch shipped for €156.
>>18634566>"yeah I'm wearing Eau D'Shit, it smells of a rotting carcass the perfumer discovered in Albania while hiking".The funny thing is that my designer stuff is stinkier than my niche stuff.>Which ones do you like as of late?Generally speaking, Dior Leather Oud (animalic leather), niche specifically Malle Dans Tes Bras (powdery clean).
>>18634608Haven't ventured into the stinkies (yet) but honestly trying to make more sense of understanding things and not be so focused on minutiae of notes. That and trying to really figure out what speaks to me and is still wearable without venturing into "they don't even know I'm wearing Toskovat" territory.I need to revisit Dior soon, tried most of the popular LV and have to say Imagination just smelled like 3rd world 99cent soap bar to me.
>>18634606From where?
>>18634545Terroni from Orto Parisi is the only fragrance I own that I regret buying. It’s not even that it smells bad though it has a horrible synthetic smell that lingers long for hours on end, but for me the problem is that it’s so strong it’s borderline unwearable. I don’t get the point of making fragrances this potent.
>>18634615What does it remind you of/how would you describe it?I've heard a lot of OP is synthetic and last forever like Bergamask for example. Out of the ones you have which are most wearable and which venture into more art than a nice scent others would also like.
I'll test a new sample set tomorrow.Which one should I start with?>eldo>laboratorio olfattivo>essential parfums
>>18634611Local frag and cosmetics store in central Italy. It's called Clementi and I believe they offer EU wide shipping if you want to inquire, but when I called to ask about the batch number I understood it was their last bottle, so even if their website lets you place an order they might not actually have a bottle, like the €124 bottle I ordered at the start of the week. They had some issues with their e-commerce platform, I helped them troubleshoot it and in the end they gave me a good price.>>18634619ELDO.Don't save the best for last.
Does Ferragamo have anything good, aside from the old Pour Homme edt?
>>18634609Dior discontinues and reformulates so much it's hard to recommend. Don't try to put yourself in a box about what you think you'll like and what you think you wont. Take your time and explore, there is no urgency, you'll find the good stuff eventually.
>>18634618i don't thing Orto Parisi is a "wearable" brand. the profiles are weird and they're very strong.i enjoy his stuff, like Cuoium and Megamare, but it's polarizing and not everyone (most people) won't like it
>>18634618I’m terrible at describing fragrances but initially it does have that warm burning scent that could remind you of volcanic rocks mixed with a raspberry-like scent, but it’s super heavy and dense. At that point it’s actually a somewhat pleasant smell, the problem is that after a few hours all that’s left is this note which I can only describe as extremely synthetic and metallic, which I think it’s whatever they add to make the fragrance and strong and long lasting as it is, and this is the note that will linger in clothes, not the warm burning volcanic raspberry scent, or it’s the “dna/signature” or the perfumer because now that I’ve had the chance to smell other Orto Parisi/Nasomatto fragrances, it’s also discernible in Black Afghano and Cuoium, though I don’t know if the drydown is the same. It’s just a very unnatural scent, I would actually prefer those indie damp crypt/rotting corpse fragrances to this.
>>18634655For you which are a balance between not being Santal 33 level of boring/overly mass used and too polarizing?
>>18634618And out of the ones I have, Comme des Garcons fragrances are my favorites, they are weird and artistic but very wearable. I have Wonderwood, Avignon, CdG 2 Man, Black and Concrete are the ones I like and own.

>>18634660im not sure tbqh. i think safe and boring frags have their place in someone's collection, just like weird bizarre frags do. for example, if im at the office or i know i'll be close to other people, i will more likely reach for something a little safer, whereas if im alone or if i won't get too close to people, i will wear something a little weirder if i feel like it. i find that all my frags smell nice, but i know some will be appreciated by a wider audience
>>18634579I bought a vintage mini thats the round bottle and decanted it to satisfy my curiosity. Probably the most greenest scent out there, doesn't get mentioned alot for good reason, its just pure green with some florals, not enough to round it off. Not like anything out there, smells dated. The newer may be modernized in some respect which would be a good thing.

Just got these in the mail today. Forgot that I'd ordered Eternity and Eternity Aqua already from Amazon. They were not fucking around with the samples of Creed and that Hatkora Wood. TINY fucking spritzers. The Wood smells SO good though. I haven't tried the Creed yet.Really digging that Versace too. The Explorer may or may not grow on me. Also high marks for the CK Be. Not sure I like it as much as CK One, but that came out when I was 16 so it has sentimental value for me. They sent along another little vial of "Exceptional", which I also like. And paper samples and 25% of offers, monthly fragrance clubs, etc....I promptly threw it all out. I can't afford to dive headlong into this like I did with watches. I really have more than I need at this point. Still want that discontinued Montage from 2001, but not for $200.I have the same issue I have with watches; you can only wear one at a time. That doesn't work with my excitement of wanting to wear them all right now.

Like once the alcohol fades from the initial spray, that fresh scent is essentially the same thing as I smell in the drydown 10-12 hours later. And everything smells the same on my skin as it does on test strips. The two categories that end up smelling really samey to me between frags are ambers and sweet gourmands, which doesn't mean I dislike them, I just think they're very interchangeable. But I also haven't tried too many for that reason.I'm not outright anosmic because I'm a great cook and love good food, but on the other hand I will say I find it difficult to place a lot of synthetic perfume notes and what they're "supposed" to be. Like I love Cool Water but it doesn't smell anything like water to me, and synthetic musks smell nothing like natural musks either
>>18634983There’s something about this frag that registers as cigarette smoke to my nose. Which doesn’t mean it smells bad, it’s just not what I would expect.
>>18634987are you a nepo baby whos father owns pdm, tho?
>>18634975>white musk fragrancesMugler Cologne, Dans Tes Bras.
>>18634989I think what you may be experiencing is that a lot of fragrances are more linear than advertised. In other words, almost every designer fragrance has a note pyramid (or, as is becoming more common nowadays, a note “pillar”, 1 top, 1 heart, 1 base) but they don’t actually evolve like the pyramid, they stay linear throughout the entire life of the fragrance, maintaining a singular scent. I would suggest trying some Guerlains. Personally I don’t care for most Guerlains because the Guerlinade always comes off a little powdery in the base to my nose, but they are without a doubt the fragrances that evolved and changed the most throughout their wear time.
Just getting into this, I only own discount generics and a few classics I got on sale. Rate my first scentsplit haul lads

Why do I lose interest in a fragrance if it gets promoted by a broccoli head tiktoker?
>>18635076Insecurity on your part. You think it means you are like that guy or have things in common, when the truth is you just bought the same bottle at a store.

>>18635124Collecting is fucking stupid. I ended up with a rare video game and some moron paid me $500 in cash for it. I guess that's okay, no idea why he'd enjoy playing it, if he even did. Then he told me if I ever found the box he'd pay another $100 for it. LOL, what an idiot. Paying $50 for a fucking cap so your discounted bottle of cologne is "complete" and looks like you paid the full $400 for it is INSANE to me. The liquid is the only important part anyway. I still haven't even sniffed my Creed that cost $25 for a tiny syringe of. But I know no matter how nice it does smell, it's not worth any fifty dollars for the fucking LID.
what’s the point in this thread when creed aventus will make you smell the best and get the most pussy?

>>18635146I don’t want silly little pee flaps. I want hairy manhole.
>>18635133>the liquid is the only important part anywayThe liquid is so cheap it's borderline worthless, same with playing the video game. The most valuable things are the hard to replace, genuine, physical parts.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ChZFgnWFXI
>>18635167I don't understand. What's the purpose of the lid once the spray inside is gone?? No one is going to be buying EMPTY bottles of Creed, with or without the lids on them. But I did finally spritz myself with some and it DOES smell damn nice. I don't know if it's worth $200 but it's pretty fuckin' good.
>buy a 5ml decant of a fragrance to sample>take one or two whiffs and decide I hate it, why would anyone want to smell like that? >weeks later pick up the bottle out of boredom and spray some on my wrist just to wear around the house>it slowly grows on meThis has happened like 3 times now. Are certain scents just an acquired taste? Something else going on? I figured I just didn’t like the opening and the dry down is much better… but even the opening has grown on me. First time I tried By the Fireplace all I could think is that it smelled like straight soot, now I think I actually like it.
>>18635201It also has to do with the fact that it can be too harsh and intense at the first spray, and your brain skips to that initial bad impression instead of processing the scents from scratch as it dries down into more pleasant scent then only some time later the brain can process the scent after the initial drying on its own merit without shorcutting to the initial bad impresson.
>>18635198>No one is going to be buying EMPTY bottles of CreedThere are people on Facebook groups that buy empty bottles to fill them up with some generic liquid and sell them again.

Imagine how much propaganda it took to convince people to spray thousands of toxic chemicals on their bodies. For years, the FDA allowed toxic chemicals to hide under "fragrance" or "parfum" to protect trade secrets. A single fragrance formula can contain 20–80 ingredients, including:• Phthalates – solvent & fixative• Synthetic musks – scent fixatives• BHT – preservative• Linalool, Limonene, Citral, Geraniol – scent allergens• Coumarin, Hexyl cinnamal – scent allergens• Benzyl alcohol – solvent/preservative• Benzyl benzoate – fixative• Alpha-isomethyl ionone – allergenBrands like Dior, Aesop and Tom Ford use these mystery cocktails of volatile solvents and allergens, revealing little about the contents. In 2025, new U.S. and EU transparency laws require fragrance brands to disclose ingredients, revealing many disrupt hormones. Many colognes use Diethyl Phthalate (DEP), linked to sperm damage and hormonal issues.Top offenders include:• Calvin Klein Eternity• Victoria’s Secret Dream Angels Wish• Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio• Chanel Coco
>>18635429I'm not a schizo so I'm not going to believe any of that. But even if I did, I'd never stop wearing Eternity. It has a slight note reminiscent of cannabis that I've never noticed on any other cologne. Just one of the many reasons it's one of my favorites.

Does anyone know of a frag that smells like you've stood next to a bonfire for the past few hours? That good pine/spruce tar and woodsmoke smell. Closest I've found in a product is Grandpa's pine tar soap bars but with frags it's all turbo-clove, pepper, or fucking mint.

>>18635473A City on Fire is supposed to smell like burnt matches but to me it's exactly like that post-bonfire smell. There's some musk and some sweetness in there too, sometimes the smell reminds me of smoked cheddar, but primarily it smells very reminiscent of my clothes after a campfire.
>>18635473i think A City on Fire and Bois D'Ascese from Naomi Goodsir, though it's been a while i smelled them.i guess you can look for birch tar notes, like Hyde from Hiram Green and T-Rex

SOTD: Hermann à mes Côtés me Paraissait une OmbreNiceI was a bit surprised. To me it starts like a freshie with a good amount of citrus and some aromatic notes, then after 20 minutes it's mostly a rose & incense frag. Also there's supposed to be some calypsone and geosmin in it but I'm not getting any ozonic / watery vibe.

>TL;DR newfag tried a bunch of frags that this board recommends and enjoyed some of them, never blindbuying againGetting into fragrances more and more since I bling-bought a new one for work, was passing by a mall this morning and decided to try all the fragrances that I am curious about that have been recommended on this thread and/or in other forums. The idea was to pick a fragrance for warm weather that could be used in every occasion, so nothing specific. Had a wish-list of a few ready so I tried each one, even the ones I was adamant about blind-buying.>Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue & Light Blue Summer vibesThe highest praise I could give is to say that this may have converted me into enjoying sweet aromatic fragrances. Opens citrus-y but as time goes by it leaves a soft chalky pleasant tone, very soft. The Summer vibes version is just a lot more citric but also has better silage. Would recommend.>Dior Sauvage and Sauvage ElixirI didn't get what the hype was about it but I think I get why it's generally recommended. This feels like what I would expect a male fragrance to smell like, which kinda gives the vibe that >>18634989 was describing, where it smells like many other fragrances. Sauvage Elixir does feel more special though, the spicy tones makes it kinda unique, but not so suitable for warm weather. I liked them both.>Acqua di Gio Standard & ProfondoStandard has a very fleeting profile, almost like it doesn't want you to smell it, so if you enjoy a more quiet cologne maybe that works but not for me. The Profondo though is really cool feeling, would pick this over Sauvage as a better all-rounder.>Versace Man Eau FraicheWhat a disappointment. This has been in my wishlist for a while because some girl thought it smelled amazing and bought it for her boyfriend. Never trusting women again. Didn't feel fresh or citric at all, just very aromatic in an annoying way.
>>18635537>Versage Eros EnergyI was not familiar with you game, Versace. This smells like what a lemonade commercial would smell like but I kinda love it for how it screams lemon.>MontBlanc Legend Spirit & AdventureLegend Spirit is exactly this >>18635201. Grew on me after trying two times, opens in a weird strong way but the scent that lingers is premium as fuck, feels like a million dollars. Will buy for sure, went home smelling like it and gf loved it so now I trust women again. Adventure is a safe sport frag with a serious vibe, but I would get Sauvage or Acqua Profondo over it.>JPG Le Beau Paradise & Le Male Ultra MaleParadise smells like someone dropped a fruit salad smoothie over you, great if you're gay. Ultra Male though, while not being a summer frag, definitely is unique and dominating. Will get Ultra Male when it gets colder.>Natura Essencial SentirThe best fresh woody-citrus that I have tried so far and my next fragrance for sure. Feels like a rainforest on my skin. This fragrance stuff is really cool, I posted this >>18634919 before but now I get why you all enjoy this hobby. Tried a bunch of mainstream stuff and pretend to move on into other styles as the seasons progresses and my taste develops. Taking Man Eau Fraiche from my wishlist rn

>>18635537i think there's times when blind buying is fine. either it's extremely cheap, if you're familiar with the brand or have a decent idea of what it's going to smell like. my biggest blind buys were Naxos, NYI and Iron Duke. only Iron Duke was a complete shot in the dark but i got lucky because i really love it despite it being kinda polarizing. as for something for the warm weather, try out Fico Di Amalfi or Never Ending Summer. the first is a nice fig perfume and the other smells like aperol and citruses. very pleasant
