yes all the cutting is done at the edges, the plastic part is removable, just a guard that keeps it at an angle. you can take it off and just go flat, surprisingly close shave.

but if you have an og oneblade no need to buy this, i just have really sensitive skin

I have a regular oneblade and its been fine. Any reason to get a different version?
