One of the worst parts about contemporary fashion is that it's completely meaningless trendslop pushed by algos and/or cope "irony" shit.The death of true counter/subcultures and extreme "irony" lead to fashion becoming largely nothing more than a fake aesthetic and/or massive dysgenic tryhardism like Mismatch fashion. ";ol i'm such a dysgenic freak i'm going to try look like even more of a fucking loser lol" cringe as fuck.Back when subcultures and counter-cultures truly existed, you could see people's fashion, go up to them, and actually find out stuff about gigs, parties, events, talk about bands, music, scene stuff etc. Now you see someone dressing grunge 98% chance they don't know the music at all, see someone dressing boho/hippy, they don't even know what a rainbow gathering is, you see someone dressing goth and they couldn't tell you the first thing about even sisters of mercy or NIN. In the modern day, we have neither the craftsmanship of classical fashion, nor the meaning of counter-culture fashion, it's the worst of both worlds.Also doesn't help that Zoomers are not fit at all and have no true beauty standards or gatekeeping.
