Is petroleum jelly really as good for skincare as people say?
>>18648550Why would a petroleum refining byproduct be good for your skin?
>>18648550Not really skincare is a hoax just shower everyday if you have oily skin or every other day of you have dry skin. If you have a bunch of pimples under those circumstances then ask your doctor for Acutane. And wear sunscreen if you spend a lot of time outside. That’s itThat’s all your skin will ever need
>>18648578ok how do I get rid of dark eye circles?good sleep doesn't help, neither does eating well.
>>18648580Are you German/Germanic? Bags under the eyes is genetic.
>>18648580nta but that may be genetic like me, i have puffy eye bags and it's just fat deposits. i'm looking to research if caffeinated eye creams work.that or save up for a lower blepharoplasty or i could just try to care less.
>>18648584oh that sucks, guess I'm gonna keep using concealer then
>>18648550it is for me, i dont know how or why it works but it does. if i get a pimple or something on my face i slather that with vaseline and it heals so much faster than if i didnt.
>>18648587I mostly use it on my lips, hands, and feet so they don't get cracked. I remember my mom slathering vaseline all over my face as a kid, I hated it.
>>18648619yeah as much as it seems to help your skin having it all over your face would be uncomfortable especially since it doesnt wash off well with soap. it almost makes your skin hydrophobic lol. i use it in small quantites and rub off the excess with a small towel.
>>18648649Sunflower or argan oil is far better for the face anyway, and it's also pretty cheap>>18648577>petroleum refining byproductUnfortunately that's what 90% of everything is made of nowadays
>>18648550i use it for fucking
>>18648550It traps moisture in the skin by preventing evaporation. Works wonders even for severely cracked skin. Cheap, nonreactive, chemically stable, so doesn't irritate inflamed skinI use it on my lips and on my hands in winter. When my hands are severely cracked from the cold, I go to bed with vaseline on my hands and vinyl gloves on (fingertips cut off so I can use my phone). The next day, my hands are soft and supple like a baby's
The healing jelly works well, but I've really only used it to help with my burns and compulsive autocannibalism on my fingers.
>>18648550It's really good for lips
If you have really dry skin, especially in winter, a light layer is great to lock in moisture. There is a risk of Milia especially if you are prone to it though. I used to use it years ago and it worked pretty good so use based on your skin and how it reacts.
>>18648586Would concealer work for something like this? I'm not sure how to describe it, but it's like there's a very visible line where my eye socket ends and my cheeks begin and it bothers me. Pic related is sort of like what I mean (I also have slight dark eye circles but not much).
Everyone here is wrong. It's an occlusive so you need an actual moisturizer under it. Vaseline just seals stuff in. It's best done after a shower.
>>18648578>not showering every day
>>18648550Yeah, but the tub/jar version is a bacteria breeding ground. Try a tube or aquaphor tube.
>>18648550dunno but it's great for cuts and scrapes
>>18648577Why wouldn't it be?>>18648550Ask a dermatologist. This board still thinks seed oils are poison.
>>18648550Old ladies swear by it.
>>18648920I have these too, honestly concealer is your best bet. It could also be caused by an iron deficiency, get some bloodwork done anon
>>18649462I've had blood tests and they all show up fine, so idk. Is concealer pretty difficult to use? I've honestly never used makeup and I'm afraid of the shade mismatching or people being able to tell I have makeup on.
>>18649485You can get your skin color matched at the mall, just go inside the makeup section of a Macy's or Dillards. You sound white, skin color matching is a bit easier for you guys
>>18649031You can shower everyday if you want, just gotta be careful with the soap/bodywash.
>>18649564Yeah I'm white as they come. I guess I just feel embarrassed about using makeup, as I'm a guy if that wasn't clear, but those eye circles or whatever really bother me.
>>18648578>shower only when you start feeling itchyTimmies are literally the smelliest race but still have a problem with showering. No wonder you people are obsessed with colognes and fragrances. The less melanin you have, the smellier and oiler you get. It's the reason albinos and gingers get a foul body odor after spending 30 minutes under the sun.Africans taught your ancestors how bathe but I guess that is now lost knowledge.
>>18649990>The less melanin you have, the smellier and oiler you get.Explain Indians then.
>>18650324It's the food they eat. It's very pungent. They also tend to not use deodorant, especially the men. Female Indians don't have the stink problem.
>>18650338>Female Indians don't have the stink problem. As a guy that likes to fuck jeetas, oh yes, yes they fucking do lol.
>>18650340Not as bad as the men
>>18649990>>18650338good morning sirs
>>18650341>"Indians don't smell">yes they do>"Okay but not the women">yes they do>"Okay but not as bad as the men though"
>>18650343Didn't say Indians don't stink. That's a different anon
>>18650343hes right about the indians smelling like shit due to their awful spiced food to hide the hideous taste. women smell bad but not as bad as men
>>18649131seed oils are a low quality option when compared to the alternatives out there. They contain higher amounts of saturated fats and taste not as great as avocado oil, beef tallow, or olive oil
>>18649990Everyone instinctively holds their breath and even nose (see Japan) when around blackies
>>18648550yes>>18648577because it's inert and acts as a barrier trapping moisture in or keeping unwanted things out
>>18650474The amount of smelly black people isn't out of the ordinary compared to other races imo. >japanThat's mostly just because there aren't much foreigners in Japan, they think white people smell weird too. I've been told that they think whites smell like cheese or wet dog
>>18650340>As a guy that likes to fuck jeetasGIWTWM
>>18648577What do you use anon?
>>18649785I used to do this when I was a late teen. I remember once a girl asked if I was wearing makeup and that was the day I stopped
>>18650895>tallwomen were a mistake, we really need to cancel women's rights, yesterday. god I hate women
>>18651754Damn you're acting like she insulted your entire bloodline. There's plenty of other fish in the sea anon, you might not be even into indian girls
>>18651707So it's really that noticeable? Fuck
>>18650474>(see Japan) when around blackies
>>18649031>>18649990my body's natural oils are so nice. I shower usually once every other day, sometimes two. Even then sometimes I only water-wash my hair so it doesn't frizz out. Rarely ever have to deal with acne or smelling bad now that I'm 23. Think I just got lucky. I still wash my face, hands, and use deodorant. I like to think that the reason I don't smell bad or end up greasy is because I live a low-stress life. Sometimes if I'm dirty or dusty after work I'll shower more than I usually do just to stay clean. If you are a generally healthy and have learned not to give into your anxieties and stress, I think showers are genuinely not needed every single day unless you are a naturally oily person. I also live in a very dry and high altitude climate.
It's good for preventing chafing
>>18650340>>18650341i had an encounter with a skinny pajeeta girl in paris, she was skinny and was wearing this pantyhose and heels outfit that I really enjoyed. When I went back to her place, it was kinda cluttered so I overlooked it, light smell in the common areas, fine, I've dealt with worse. She went to the bathroom and I didn't hear a flush. But then I used her bathroom. This was the most thick and foul stench I have ever encountered. When I opened the lid of her toilet to do my business, I literally choked: it was like cigarettes, piss, sweat and shit mixed in one. The toilet was cracked and had a bucket on top of the flush button, so I suspect she NEVER flushed this toilet ever. I had to cover my face with my shirt to breathe in my cologne for refuge. When I came out, she pulled down her pantyhose and that stench was emanating from her nether regions. I said ' I have to go' and left the apartment complex.
>>18650338>Female Indians don't have the stink problemYou are certified retarded.Where I work, we employ a lot of student workers, and sometimes my boss seems to hire students workers in clusters by race for whatever reason. He usually alternates between Indians and Chinese each year or so.One particular year, we had an office full of Indian students (males and females) who all smelled terrible. Our section of the office was cloistered with it's own entry and no circulation. We would constantly have people coming in from other departments who would almost incredulously exclaim "wow, it really stinks back here" and offer a guess as to the reason like "there might be a backed up sewage line" or something like that. It smelled so horribly bad, it was unbelievable. I hate it so much, why must I be tortured by stinky jeets? My boss had his own office within our department section so he didn't have to smell them. I think it was some kind of psychological torture.
All it does is seal the outermost layer of skin. I wear it to bed after putting on moisturizer sometimes because the heating in winter dries my skin out. I also down a glass of water with electrolytes before bed and immediately after waking up. And I have to change my pillowcase every single day. Other than that, I wouldn’t use it. If you don’t get dry skin, I wouldn’t bother. If you do but it’s not dry outer layer just get some Korean or Japanese moisturizer brand.
>>18654092Fuck bro. I get what you mean though, I was hit with that fish smell with a girl once so bad that it was like it filled the room. I just couldn't handle it and had to leave.
>>18648578I stopped showering for about 6 weeks and most of the acne on my arms and back cleared up ymmv
