What's an /fa/ pen to have and use?Pic unrelated
>>18652607Pilot G2 with a Mont Blanc insert.
>>18652607Parker Jotter are the GOATGreat design, classy, but not overpriced so you are not afraid to lose them.
>>18652820I have like those in 6 colors, glossy ones.I don't care much for the colored brushed aluminum ones or for some cringe graphics they do.Only glossy or the aluminum but in neutral.
>>18652607bic cristal

>>18652925Can a pen be /fa/ if it was made by an Indian?
>OHTO CR01>Energel needle tip refillOh yeah, now we are writing
Uni Jetstream alphagel is the based lefty pen, super fast drying ink so zero smudges.
Let me guess, you “need” more?
>>18652980Yes of course, I'm not brown.
>>18652607Really depends on what you’re looking to use it for and what you prefer. You can sample around without spending hardly at all>fountain penIf you think you’ll like this route I would get a Kaweco sport in fine or extra fine. If you’d rather use bottled ink over a cartridge you can get a converter for next to nothing. If that’s too expensive get one of the cheapy Chinese piston fillers on Amazon, they’re decent for 8$. Go this route if you want something unique and you’re a hobby guy. >rollerballI like the Pilot V5, but there’s much better ones. You’ll get 90% of the value of the better ones for 2$ tho with the v5>ballpointUni jetstream. Also the best option for multi pens if you want different colors for work or organization or something>gel pensI mostly use these myself. I like the bold, solid lines and smoothness. Sakura Gelly Roll is the og and kind of the gold standard, but the Uni One line is very nice for a modern update. >finelinersGood for writing bold lines on practically anything. I always keep a Milwaukee ultra fine pen in my work stuff in case I need to write inside a cabinet or something. There’s probably better ones but i don’t have much experience with these. You can sample practically all these for less than 30 and pick what you like, and there’s lots of options to mix and match if you like a refill but not the aesthetics or grip.
>>18652607>>18652820what do people need pens for? Do you write diary or something
Uni-Ball
>>18653004From top to bottom:>boring>boring>boring>boring>Is it a pen.. fr.. fffrrrr ... from.. JAPAAAAAN???? :O NIHON NO PEN DESU!!! SUGOI NE!!!!>boring>FUTATSU NIHON NO PEN DESUYOOOO!!!!!! Demo Uni-barru wa hafu pen desu. 5/10
>>18653058>Have an agenda>write what you do on itwow, crazy concept, fr bruh
>>18652820>Parker Jotterthe janky spring and scratchy push button these have trigger my sensory issues. it felt kinda cheap
>>18652980I used to chew on those caps as a little kid lol
>>18653062>japan isn’t mentioned >omgg omg omg you LOOOOOVE JAPAN DONT YOU!!! I bet you visit REDDIT!!! You talk about JAPAN ON REDDIT DONT YOU!?! Go work out your issues somewhere else faggot
>>18652925Do you actually own a Nakaya? What are your thoughts about it?
>>18652814im lame enough to like this but doesnt the mb insert dry out since there's no cap to seal it closed?
i went to high school with the guy whose family owns the mb montreal boutique
also with the kids who created mackage shoutout maimo
>>18652980>"need"What?
>>18653058>pens are so obsolete unless you're some kind of smart boomer or somethin'. Whaddaya read books too? lol
>>18653058Me personally I use it for my language studies, write notes in meetings at work, or make quick notes during phone calls or whan I have to decide between some things. Helps me focus a bit more. For my language studies I use a fountain pen cause it makes the whole "grind" a bit more pleasant. For work and notes I have a Montblanc rollerball pen.
>>18653058I do manual machining. I have to do a ton of calculations for RPMs etc. (I use a calculator for the actual math but still need to note the results etc.) and things like offsets for tool width and so on. I also generally keep at least some degree of a log of what I've done so if something goes wrong I can figure out how I fucked up.
>>18653651It is a roller ball insert. have been using this combo for the last 3 years and haven't had issues yet.
>>18653511seethe, weeb
>>18654155actually sickthe refills just fit the g2 body, or some tweaking required? im genuinely interested in giving this a go, thanks for sharing
>>18653527>Do you actually own a Nakaya? What are your thoughts about it?owned it, sold it. Pretty pen, but the writing experience is identical to a plain old Platinum 3776. (Because the nibs and feeds actually are identical)Dried out constantly.Highly overrated.
>>18652820this, anything else is larpy
>>18654252NTA but if you are considering this, take a look at the G2 Limited. It is mostly the same body as the disposable G2 but made of metal and has a slightly thicker and more comfortable grip. The metal body also gives it some weight and it feels really nice to write with tbdesu. It's big and heavy, like my cock. There's also a myriad of other bodies that take both G2 and MV refills but the G2 limited is honestly everything you need.
>>18652980those fucking things make my hands cramp
>>18652980No, I need less you consoomerist wasteful NPC. Why should I buy a whole new pen when I can just refill the ink in my existing pen?
>>18654252You need to shave about 1mm off the plastic end cap of the M B refill, a razor works just fine.
>>18654252Unless you’re interested in tweaking or have a specific setup you’re trying to get to work there’s really no need. The best pens are generally extremely affordable, after 5-10$ you’re really only paying for looks, style, long-term value, etc. MB inserts are nothing special unless you happen to prefer them, and even then you’re probably paying a 5x markup over the same technology from Pilot. You could buy a 50$ MB notepad and put it in a 4$ Amazon cover too… but idk why you would.
this weeb thing, top nice for writing.yeah, I keep a journal.
>>18654386>$5 bic pack >bad>$20 ink refill>le good
>>18652980Fun little fact, this pen is the most sold item in human history.
>>18654727Japan makes the absolute best stationary.
uniball jetstream edge for b*llpointgvfc anello preferably ivory or black
>>18652607
>>18653063>>18653747this is what decreasing testosterone levels do to you>>18653944>>18654039thank you, good reasons
>>18653058When you do any kind of manual work either as part of your job or your hobbies, writing things down on paper disrupts your workflow a lot less than going to the computer to take notes. And you need to take notes. Just in case.I work in a jewelry and watchmaking workshop and if I didn't keep a paper bloc, I'd be wasting a whole bunch of time going back and forth from my bench to the computer.
>>18654704sounds easy enough, gonna give this a go
Bic Atlantis. very intentionally showcasing the old style with the plastic clip that is lighter, not cold on you in winter, and looks better.Bic Cristal was the only other good pen shown in this thread so far.
>>18654746Yes, because I consoom less and generate almost no plastic waste.
prera
>>18652980Did they fix the drawing dicks malfunction?
i hate these pens. every restaraunt on earth has them. they write like shit,
i think the muji refills are just pilot refills. these write very nicely.
>>18652820I had a Parker Jotter for a bit. I dropped it just once on a carpeted floor and the mechanism broke, they're absolute shit.
This exists and I want one.
>>18653058There are things that I don't want to be digital/online. My thoughts, for example. On a less paranoid level, taking notes helps me remember and learn much better than putting notes in my phone or on a computer. Writing someone a personal note or letter is also a very nice thing to do.
>>18652607>MB 146 Medium to actually enjoy writing, any ink.>2x Lamy Safari Fine with piston insert, one with red and one with green ink, used for diagramming at work. That's enough pens for me. Even after 10 years using fountain pens I unironically enjoy the ritual of filling them with ink.
>>18652980Another fun fact, this pen is used in a famous diary of a certain girl years before it was actually invented, wild, I know
>>18652980>mogs you in your pathnothing personal
>>18652607I really enjoy my LAMY 2000, the design is iconic and it writes beautifully.
